Italic textI have now twice seen a bird in my garden but don't know what it is!! It is about the size of a starling and it is blue with a yellow ringed black eye - does anyone have any idea what it is?

The only thing remotely fitting the description is a Cuckoo - or it's an escape. jimfbleak 16:33, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List

Some birds in the list are in a bold font. Why is this? Snowman 23:59, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

They are subspecies, debolded now Jimfbleak.talk.06:39, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps they should each have (subspecies) in suffix in brackets to make the list easier to understand. Snowman 10:13, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I am not clear on this part of the list:

  1. Blue-headed Wagtail, Motacilla flava
  • Yellow Wagtail M. f. flavissima is the breeding form Snowman 10:13, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I've tried to clarify the wagtails Jimfbleak.talk.12:31, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
  • I have tried to clarify a few thrush subspecies.
  • Is the list in any order or sequence for any particular reason? Are the Buntings or Warblers listed in the sequence they are for any reason? Snowman 12:45, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't look quite right, does it? I suspect the oriole in particular was just omitted initially and tagged on at the end. Jimfbleak.talk.16:48, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
