[edit] Merger?

Alright, on the basis of possible fancruft, and that Potato is way too minor a character to be given it's own page, I say merge the two together and list it as Kano's pet dog, which it is.--Juhachi 22:36, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Possible, but the pet dog has a mind of his own. It isn't about the character. On the movie for instance patato was only a TV star, not kanos pet. On the anime he discovered the lost puppet of Yukito, a key part of the AIR plot. I am not certain the detail the pet was covered in the game plot. It is a significant peice of the puzzle we need to decide. Sadly, Air game was never released in english so I have no way of knowing. I think it is becoming increasingly imperative we find a native speaker of japanese with the possesion of the game as the majority of character developement was in the game. --Cat out 22:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
The movie appearance is just a camio, hardly a "character". -- Ned Scott 23:10, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Well.. True. But the fact is s/he was not Kanos pet. I think we should avoid a desicion either way until we get info from the game (something I am working on) --Cat out 19:38, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
My vote: Merge to List of Air characters --Kunzite 23:55, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I believe it's time to take this happy group of articles on the AFD train! -- Ned Scott 02:51, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merger?

I think the merge with the Sora article is a no brainer. Hooray for discussion! -- Ned Scott 21:44, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

I'd say I agree; they're basically the same person anyway. I mean seriously, Sora's only the crow that had the same soul as Ryūya and Yukito. Since he has so little dialogue, it'd make more sense just to have Sora as a subheading in this article.--Juhachi 22:30, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
I disagree. Sora was the reincarnated self of Yukito indeed, no argument there. But Sora was not on the movie and had a level of impact to the Anime plot. He is in there since episode one and you learn about its true nature at later episodes as a paralel character. How would you begin in explaining that him and Yukito were on the same frame in practicaly most of the show? Sora entered the plot before Yukito chronologicaly. --Cat out 22:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Parallel character yes, but they are the same character really. _dk 00:38, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Which just destroys the entier point of the show. On the very last episode do we learn this detail. This is like telling the ending of the show in the intro. --Cat out 20:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
That's what a spoiler tag is for _dk 05:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Neither meets WP:FICTION legnth. Merge to: List of Air Characters with others. --Kunzite 01:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
WP:Fiction is a guideline. It is not a policy and cannot be enforced. This article is a stub I created very recently it hasnt even been a week. I will not be rushed in writing complete articles. --Cat out 20:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
umm. WP:FICTION is a SUMMARY of the POLICY Wikipedia:Deletion policy/Minor characters
  1. Major characters (and places, concepts, etc) in a work of fiction should be covered within the article on that work of fiction. If the article on the work itself becomes long, then giving major characters an article of their own is good practice.
  2. Minor characters (and places, concepts, etc) in a work of fiction should be listed with short descriptions in a "List of minor characters." This list should reside in the article relating to the work itself, unless either becomes long, in which case a separate article for the list is good practice.
  3. Fictional characters which are cultural icons transcending their appearance in a particular work of fiction, or who cannot be neatly tied to a particular work of fiction or fictional universe deserve articles of their own, regardless of other circumstances.
  4. It would be useful to add redirects to the article page or list of minor characters, from anything that's listed in there.
  5. This has been summarized at WP:FICT for easy reference.
Have there been any page legnth warnings on the main article? Has any of the sections on the main page become too long to handle these characters? Doesn't the policy state "if" the article becomes to long it should get its own page, not "if the article sometime in the future" becomes too long. I think you're going overboard in creating a single article for every character in these television shows when wikipedia policy says not to. --Kunzite 12:28, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
No and no. When I pick a series for improvement drive, the related articles grow in a matter of days. Now that hasn't happened here because I have been waisting time telling people to give me time, like a week or a month. If you look at the history of Oh My Goddess! you will see the article grew in a matter of days prompting the breakup.
I prefer to expand articles in a systematic manner. It is redundent to move content back and forth just to satisfy a policy which wont apply when I am done.
Now I ask you for a final time to leave the matter alone and give me time to expand the articles.

[edit] Spoiler for sora

This section has been moved here due to a redirect: Talk:Yukito Kunisaki

I think this is too much of a spoiler. Sora is the conclusion of the serries. I think thats inaprporate to have as a stand alone artile like this. --Cat out 19:21, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Why would a reader be reading a detailed character article and expect to not read spoilers? -- Ned Scott 23:33, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] post-merges

Awesome work on the character merges, btw. -- Ned Scott 06:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Minagi's surname

Due to official artwork such as this and this, taken from the OP of the original game, I am changing Minagi's surname to Tohno.---- () 10:13, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
