Listo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Listo is the name of the main character of the Spanish cartoon El Listo, created by Àgueda in 2003.

The comic strips of El Listo have appeared in:

  • the magazine of the Social Education College in Catalunya,
  • the magazine Monográfico,
  • the magazine Distorsió,
  • and several amateur fanzines and internet sites.

It has also been spread as .gif files attached to chain mails.

According to the cartoon, El Listo is the nickname of Evaristo Peña, unemployed Spanish engineer.

Actually, "listo" means "clever" but is often used in an ironic way. It could be translated as "The Smartass".

The scripts of El Listo are usually written by Àgueda (and are supposed to be autobiographical), and the drawings have been made by several Spanish artists including Oki, Sergio Morán, Juan Carlos Bonache.
