  • Ladan and Laleh Bijani (1974-2003), Iranian, united by the head; died during separation surgery in Singapore
  • Pristian Yuliana dan Pristian Yuliani, Indonesian twins conjoined at the head (Craniopagus). Dr. Padmosantjojo have successfully separated them at the age of 6 months in Jakarta by 1987. This successful separation is a milestone of neuro surgery history in the world. Rightnow, Pristian Yuliana dan Pristian Yuliani have completed their high school.
  • Lea and Tabea Block German twins joined at the head. Tabea died during surgery in the U.S.
  • Chang and Eng Bunker (1811-1874), from Thailand, joined by the areas around their xiphoid cartilages, but over time the join stretched; the expression Siamese twins is derived from their case
  • Mary and Eliza Chulkhurst (1100-1134) (also known as the Biddenden Maids) from England. They are the earliest known set of conjoined twins.

  • Olga and Daria Kolacz - from Janikowo, Poland. Separated in Saudi Arabia, at the age of about 1. They returned home 22 March, 2005.
  • Masha and Dasha Krivoshlyapova (1950-2003), Soviet/Russian twin girls, rarest form of conjoined twins, only known case of dicephalus tetrabrachius dipus (two heads, four arms, two legs)
  • Jean and Jacques Liberra
  • Wiktoria and Weronika Palen - Polish twin girls, separated in the USA
  • Aleksandra and Patrycja Plociennik - Polish twin girls. Born on March 13, 2004, died July 24, 2005.
  • Lori and Reba Schappell
  • Emily and Francesca Selvaggio, conjoined twins separated at the earliest age
  • Ram and Laxman, Indian, separated by Dr. Y Nayudamma in 1992

  • Thomas and Grace Houghton-Burnett (born 2002), heaviest mixed sex twins born in the UK (Thomas 10 lb 1 oz or 4.56 kg - Grace 8 lb 2 oz or 3.69 kg), Also heaviest twins born via normal delivery in the UK (rather than by Caesarean section) [2]
  • Gin Kanie and Kin Narita (born 1892), oldest twins in Japan and national icons, died 2001 and 2000 respectively
  • James and Thomas Mollekin, Britain's tallest twins.
  • Rumaisa Rahman, born September 19, 2004 with twin sister Hima Rahman, is the smallest recorded baby born in history. Rumaisa was born at 8.6 ounces (244 grams).
  • Elizabeth and Isabella Tang, Co-Miss California's Outstanding Teen 2004,
  • Nine babies were born in 1971 in Australia, however none of the babies survived. That's the biggest number of babies that have ever been born at once.[citation needed]

Note that in many cases listed, very young twins both played the same role. This is due to child labor restrictions on how long each child could be on the set. Normally this is done with very young twins, as that when they age, they become more distinct.
