In the massively successful American Sitcom Frasier, the character Daphne Moon is a native of Manchester. But the actress playing her, Jane Leeves, was actually born in Essex, and raised in Sussex, and other members of her family are either Southern English or Scottish. Fellow cast member John Mahoney, playing an American, was born in Blackpool, but raised in the city's Withington district.
