List of television channels available in Ireland

This table is a list of television channels available in the Republic of Ireland through localised means i.e. services such as cable or local satellite services (e.g. Sky Digital Ireland). As terrestrial and analogue frequencies vary, these have been excluded and the availability is only indicated by "Yes" or "No". A blank box indicates unknown status. Digital services carry specific numbers where known.

Sky Digital refers to the Irish Sky Digital service.

Irish adverts indicates whether or not a separate stream of the channel, with advertisements targeted at the Republic of Ireland is available. This field is not applicable to channels which are broadcast from Ireland. The current digital terrestrial trial service only includes channels which are also available on analogue.

  2. ^ a b c d e UK Analogue channels are available via standard terrestrial UHF transmission in many parts of the Republic of Ireland from transmitters in Northern Ireland or Wales.
  3. ^ a b Shared channel - Real time is shown from 6am-5pm and Discovery from 5pm-6am, as per time-sharing between predecessor Discovery Home & Leisure on old Sky analogue services.
  4. ^ Does not feature Irish advertising on some Chorus analogue services.
  5. ^ NTL Ireland does not preserve the encoding of EuroNews, whereby one video stream is accompanied by 8 audio streams. Instead the English audio stream is on 203 (the 200s are for news and documentaries) while the other languages appear in 831-836 (the 800s are for specialist channels) and the audio track with no commentary at all, is not available.
  6. ^ EuroNews, while broadcasting advertisements, does not run advertisements specifically targeted at any one region. They are therefore typically advertisements for holiday destinations, hotels etc.
