[edit] Notes
- On the death of Louis the German in 876, Eastern Francia was divided into Bavaria, Swabia and Saxony.
- Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia had ceased to be autonomous and independent kingdoms by this time.
- The date reigns of Sigurd Orm i Øje, as well as his actual existence, is controversial though East Anglian coins exist featuring him.
- Date of the end of Sancho I's reign is uncertain. Sancho II may have been monarch by 875.
