List of rivers of Gondor

Location of the rivers of Gondor

In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, there are two common lists of rivers of Gondor. The rivers Anduin, Sernui and Gilrain appear in both lists.

The Seven Rivers of Gondor are the following:

The river Lefnui

The Lefnui begins in the south-western valleys of the Starkhorn peak of the White Mountains, and flows south-west parallel to the mountain range, entering the Bay of Belfalas near the long cape of Andrast
The river Morthond

The Morthond begins on the southern edges of the Dwimorberg at the end of the Paths of the Dead in the White Mountains, then flows past the ancient fortress of Erech and the Green Hills of the Pinnath Gelin. After meeting its tributary Calenhir it enters the sea at Edhellond.

Aragorn and company emerged from the Paths of the Dead in Morthond's vale and followed the river briefly to Erech on their way to southern Gondor.
The river Ciril

Ciril starts in an isolated peak in Lamedon, and flows past Calembel becoming a tributary of-
The river Ringló

Ringló arises as two smaller unnamed rivers in the White Mountains, on the southern arm that bends towards Belfalas.

Flowing through the Gondorian city Ethring, it passes north of Tarnost where it is met by its tributary Ciril, and meets the sea at Edhellond, near Cobas Haven above Dol Amroth.
The river Gilrain

The Gilrain starts as two unnamed tributaries in the White Mountains, and flows south meeting the Sernui at Linhir.
The river Sernui

Also spelled Serni, it begins in the plains of Lebennin and meets the Bay of Belfalas north of Ethir Anduin at the city of Linhir
The river Anduin.

The river Anduin
The river Celos

Celos starts in the White Mountains and becomes a tributary of-
the river Sirith

Sirith meets Anduin at Pelargir,
The river Sernui
the river Gilrain
