  1. The "height" listed is the vertical distance from the crest of the dam to the original stream bed at the downstream toe of the dam.
  2. Oroville Dam is the tallest dam in the United States.
  3. Lake Tahoe is a natural lake and the dam only adds a capacity of 732,000 acre-feet and only controls the top 6 feet of the lake.
