From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of conventional medical schools in the United States includes major academic institutions in the U.S. that award advanced degrees for medical professionals, such as physicians and surgeons. By convention, it does not include schools of osteopathic medicine or dentistry, which are listed separately:

Including branch campuses, the United States has a total of 426 conventional medical schools and 26 osteopathic medical schools. There are six states with no conventional medical schools: Alaska, Delaware, Idaho, Maine (which has an osteopathic school), Montana, and Wyoming.

A state-by-state directory of all 125 accredited U.S. medical schools is maintained at the website of the Association of American Medical Colleges .[1]
