- The Penguin - One of Batman's most famous adversaries. (Not really a penguin, but a human who has physical penguin-like features. His real name is Oswald Cobblepot.) He dies in the movie Batman Returns. However, in the canon continuity of the comic books, he has reformed (sort of), and he and Batman have progressed from being mortal enemies to a tolerable modus vivendi.
