List of deputy chairpersons of the planning commission of India

Since the Prime Minister of India happens to be the ex-officio chairperson of planning commission of India, the position of the deputy chairperson has great significance. The appointments are made by the President of India, on the advice of the Prime minister. The appointees typically have either been economists of repute or political appointees.
