- There are currently six full time gay venues in Cardiff. The Golden Cross, The Kings Cross - the oldest gay bar in Wales, Bar Icon and Lush are gay bars whilst Club X and Exit are gay clubs based at the heart of the gay scene on the city's Charles Street.
- In addition to this there is a monthly gay night at the TigerTiger club which is usually on a Sunday night, tending to fall on a bank holiday weekend if there is one in that month.
- The drag bar, Minskys on Charles Street is often thought to be a gay venue due to its flamboyant acts. However this is not strictly the case and the majority of those who frequent the bar are heterosexual women, sometimes on hen nights. It is however, gay owned and run.
