Dance Prelude and Lament of the Swan-Princess (1918). These orchestrations by Bax of Liadov’s Prelude, Op. 11 No. 1 and Sur la prairie, Op. 23 were made for Diaghilev’s ballet Children’s Tales (Contes Russes) and last performed in 1920. Missing.
Fanfares, Two [brass, percussion and organ] (1943). Written for a ‘Red Army Celebration’ at the Royal Albert Hall and last performed in 1943. Missing. A recording of one is extant.
Frog-Skin, The [ballet] (1918). No performance traced. Missing.
Journey into History [film score] (1951). Last performed in 1951. Cathaleen-ni-Hoolihan for Two Violins and Piano (1904). Last performed in 1904. Missing. Probably an arrangement of the slow movement of the String Quartet in E, later orchestrated as the tone-poem Cathaleen-ni-Hoolihan.
Sonata No.2 for Viola and Piano (1934). Only one folio extant, containing the last page of the slow movement and the first page (crossed through) of the finale. The material from the slow movement appears in the equivalent movement of the Sixth Symphony, suggesting that the latter may be an orchestration of the complete sonata movement.
Trio in B flat minor for Violin, Cello, and Piano (1901). A projected four-movement work of which only the first movement (privately owned) and sketches for the third movement (British Library) are extant (or were written).
