  • Albriech: The son of Elain and Horst; roughly Roran's age. He has a brother named Baldor.
  • Baldor: Horst and Elain's son. He is the brother of Albriech.
  • Birgit: Wife of Quimby, mother to 13-year-old Nolfavrell.
  • Brom
  • Elain: Horst's wife and the mother of Albriech and Baldor. In Eldest she was expecting another child.
  • Fisk: Village carpenter.
  • Garrow
  • Gertrude: Healer
  • Horst: Horst is a blacksmith. He and his wife Elain are the parents of Baldor and Albriech, and they are expecting another child.
  • Ismira: Sloan's wife and Katrina's mother. She fell from Igaulda Falls and died before the events in Eragon.
  • Katrina
  • Morn: Owner of the "Seven Sheaves" Tavern. He is the husband of Tara.
  • Roran
  • Sloan
  • Tara: Wife of Morn.
  • Quimby: Killed by the Imperial soldiers during their stay at Carvahall; his body is eaten by the Ra'zac. He is Birgit's husband.
