A lonely child with no friends due to the fact they think he is a freak. He can open windows between universes extremely quickly.

A girl who lived in ancient Ireland and trained to be a priestess. Dies closing the tunnel.

- Dervish Grady - Grubbs Uncle. Fought for Bill-E's life.
- Billy 'Bill-E' Spleen - Grubbs' illegitamite half-brother. The name he wants is similar to Bile Spleen. Struck by lycanthropy. Saved by Grubbs and Dervish. Has a lazy left eye.
- Cal Grady - Grubbs father. Had an affair with a woman in Dervishes village, which resulted in Bill-E Spleen. Died trying to cure Gret of lycanthropy. Presumed to be killed by Lord Loss.
- Sharon Grady - Grubbs mother. Refused to visit Dervish, which is why Cal went on his own. Died trying to cure Gret of lycanthropy. Presumed to be killed by Vein.
- Gretelda 'Gret' Grady - Grubbs sister. Died when her parents failed to cure her of lycanthropy. Presumed to be killed by Artery.
- Meera Flame - A woman who flirts with men just to annoy them. She survived some demon attack but it is unknown when or where.

- Beranabus - A fully fledged magician. Founder of the Disciples.
- Shark - A member of the Disciples and a former army member. Has the word 'SHARK' tattooed on his fingers. He appeared in Grubbs, Dervish, Bill-E and Juni's hallucination in Slawter,along with Sharmila. His real name hasn't yet been revealed.
- Sharmila Mukherji - A member of the Disciples. In Lord Loss Grubbs and Dervish watch a documentary about her. She also appeared in Grubbs, Dervish, Bill-E and Juni's hallucination in Slawter, along with Shark.
- Nadia Moore - An unwilling member of the Disciples. Can catch glimpses of the future. Defected to Lord Loss.
- Raz Warlo - A former member of the Disciples. He was remarkable for both his dark skin and rotund body, both of which were lost after he was slain by demons.
- Art - Kernels 'brother,' is actually the demon Artery
- Caspian Fleck - Kernels father

- Juni Swan - Dervish's love interest who has a small amount of magical power.
- Davida Haym - An evil genius who intends to massacre hundreds of people in the interest of the media.
- Prae Athim - A prominent member of the Lambs, a group who fight lycanthropy and kill infected teenagers.
- Bo Kooniart - A snooty girl who is an actor in the film in Slawter. She becomes a hero near the end.
- Reni Glossell- A girl whom Grubbs has a crush on. Sister of Loch.
- Loch Glossell- One of Grubbs friends. Frequently picks on Bill-E. Brother of Reni.
- Karin- A girl who dies in Slawter when trying to escape.
- Chuda- Assistant director, killed by Juni.

- Drust - The druid who teaches Bec magic. Is sacrificed at the end.
- Bran (a.k.a. Run Fast) - A simple boy who can run very fast. Spouts nonsensical jabbering such as 'Run fast!', 'Flower!' and 'Bubbly!' (Some believe to be Beranabus)
- Connla - The son of the leader of the rath. Betrays the group. Killed by a demon.
- Goll - The would be king. Lost Kingship due to an arrow in his eye. Killed by demons.
- Fiachna - A brave smith who goes with the group. Dies from poison near the end.
- Ronan - One of the youngest fighters, but one of the fiercest. Twin of Lorcan. Pushed off a cliff by Connla.
- Lorcan - One of the youngest fighters, but one of the fiercest. Twin of Ronan. Killed by demons.
- Orna - A woman who goes with the group. Dies after being tormented by zombies of her dead children.
- Banba - A priestess. Bec's original mentor. Dies before the book begins.
- Aideen - Bec's Aunt.
- Aednat - Bec's Mother, Killed her husband (Bec's Father). Died after childbirth.
- Amargen - Ninian's father, gets killed at the end of the second chapter after challenging demons.

- Lord Loss - A demon master who enjoys suffering and sadness rather than pain and death. (Lord Loss, Demon Thief, Slawter, Bec, Blood Beast)
- Artery - A hell child with fire in it eye sockets and cockroaches/maggots/lice for hair. (Lord Loss, Demon Thief, Slawter, Bec (unconfirmed))
- Vein - A dog with the head of a crocodile and hands of a woman, killed in Lord Loss for disobeying her master. However, she appeared in Demon Thief and Bec due to the fact that they are set before the first book. (Lord Loss, Demon Thief, Bec)
- Cadaver - The demon who snatched Art/Artery and took him into the demons universe. Beranabus was tracking it throughout the book. (Demon Thief and possibly Slawter.)
- Malice - A squat, long, dog demon with spikes all over. Uses its spikes to crawl and has the head of a dung beetle. Killed by Grubbs using magic.(Slawter)
- Gregor - A giant cockroach. Grubbs and Dervish use it to destroy the barrier surrounding Slawter. (Slawter)
