Always trying to change the future, Raven is the psychic, sometimes self-absorbed main character of the series. Her best friends are Chelsea Daniels and Eddie Thomas. She has one brother and is an aspiring fashion designer, currently working on an internship with Donna Cabonna, and attends Bayside High.

The lead character's original name was "Dawn Baxter", but was changed to "Raven Baxter" when Raven-Symoné won the part. (Raven was originally cast as the best friend, but earned the leading role when Disney saw the pilot, according to "Life Story Magazine".)

Eddie is the male-best friend of Raven. He is an aspiring rapper and is a member of the school's basketball team. He has been seen to give advice to Cory.

Raven's best friend. She is a "tree hugger" and artist. She is portrayed as ditzy.

Cory is the only sibling of Raven. He has two best friends, William and Larry. He and his two best friends comprise the band "Cory and the Boys". The band has one song called "Feel the Love" Cory is Drummer and lead Singer while Larry is guitarist. William started out playing the clarinet and then moved on to the keyboard. Cory is a fluent Spanish speaker, and is shown to be obsessed with money. He earlier had a crush on Chelsea Daniels. He and Victor are the main characters in the TSR spinoff Cory in the House.

The father of Raven and Cory. He was working for a restaurant, until he opened his own: The Chill Grill. He has a rival named Leonard Stevenson. In Cory in the House, he gets a job as the president's chef.

Is the mother of Raven and Cory. She was a housewife until 2005, when she decided to go to Britain to study law.

[edit] Recurring characters

That's So Raven has had many recurring characters - most of whom have stayed in the show for all four seasons; however, some have only appeared in two or three episodes.

Tanya Baxter left the show after the episode "Food for Thought". She has been mentioned many times since, but has not been seen since. Instead, the characters refer to her as having traveled to Britain to study law further. Despite her disappearance, Keymáh was still credited for the remaining six episodes of season three. On Keymáh's official website, [1] it states that she agreed to play Tanya Baxter for three seasons only. However, some state that Keymáh left the show after creative differences.[2]

Mr. Lawler a popular recurring character during seasons one and two of That's So Raven, was neither seen nor mentioned again after the episode "Clothes Minded". However, in season four, Raven and Chelsea were standing outside Principal Lawler's office. He tends to spit a lot while talking, making the seat right in front of his desk avoided by students.

Ben Sturky disappeared after three episodes in the first season. This may be because in season one, Raven attended Bayside Junior High and in seasons two through four she goes to Bayside High School - Ben Sturky presumably would have gone to a different high school. He really likes Raven and called her "the cutest girl in school" once. They most likely, however, ended their relationship as friends.

Alana disappeared in season three because, according to Muffy, "she was so bad, she got sent to military school". She was replaced by Bianca, who was "so bad, she got kicked out of military school". However, Bianca herself disappeared after two episodes in season three and was neither seen nor mentioned again. Muffy and Loca however, are from Alana's and Bianca's gang and is usually present in the newer episodes, but Muffy and Loca have not appeared together in the same episode since Bianca's last appearance despite stating they didn't know how to be individuals. For this reason, some believe that Bianca's gang is no more. Maybe Bianca was sent back to military school or perhaps was transferred, it is never explained but Bianca is clearly no longer in Raven's school.

  • Sierra (Juliette Goglia), Raven's neighbor is never seen again after only two episodes.
  • Chantel (Drew Sidora), Eddie's girlfriend in season 3 and one episode of season 2. She is never seen or mentioned in season 4.

[edit] Disappearing significant others

  • In the pilot episode of That's So Raven entitled "Smell of Victory", Eddie begins dating a girl named Crystal (played by Christel Khalil). She is neither seen nor mentioned again until the season two episode "The Dating Shame", when Crystal along with her friend Claudia compete against Raven and Chelsea to go out with a guy named Chad in the fictional dating show Termi-Date. The only other time Crystal was mentioned was during the beginning of the third season episode, "Point of No Return", when Raven, Eddie, and Chelsea all talk about Crystal's upcoming party.
  • In the episode "Mr. Perfect", Raven dates a guy named André. During the course of that episode, they break-up, but later get back together. After that episode, André is neither seen nor mentioned again.
  • In the episode "Double Vision", Chelsea begins to date a guy named Ben who has the same psychic powers as Raven. For some reason, he does not appear in any future episodes and is not mentioned again.
