Art is skill used to produce an aesthetic result. Arts or the Arts encompasses visual arts, performing arts, language arts, and culinary arts. Many artistic disciplines involve aspects of the various arts, so the definitions of these terms overlap to some degree. The term art also refers to the physical forms produced or performed using those skills, such as a sculpted figure, a poem, or a piece of music. Basic topics in art include:
