List of administrative divisions of Beijing

Beijing, an independent municipality in China is divided into ten districts and eight counties.

Outside the second ring road are:

  • Chaoyang, and the Sanlitun and Jianguomenwai embassy districts are to the East and North-East of the city center. The two embassy areas contain the majority of foreign embassies and have attendant services (shops, restaurants and bars that cater to foreigners).
  • Fengtai is in the South-West.
  • Shijingshan is the central Western district.
  • Haidian is in the North-West of the city, and includes the Beijing Zoo.
