List of administrative divisions of Beijing

Beijing, an independent municipality in China is divided into ten districts and eight counties.
Inside the second ring road are:
- Xicheng in the North-West quarter
- Dongcheng in the North-East quarter
- Chongwen in the South-East quarter
- Xuanwu in the South-West quarter
Outside the second ring road are:
- Chaoyang, and the Sanlitun and Jianguomenwai embassy districts are to the East and North-East of the city center. The two embassy areas contain the majority of foreign embassies and have attendant services (shops, restaurants and bars that cater to foreigners).
- Fengtai is in the South-West.
- Shijingshan is the central Western district.
- Haidian is in the North-West of the city, and includes the Beijing Zoo.
