- 2007-03-30: President George W. Bush apologized to wounded soldiers who were badly treated in the Walter Reed Army Medical Center neglect scandal.

- 2007-02-27: Steve Cohen, member of the United States House of Representatives introduced a bill in the House that apologizes for African-American slavery and the system of Jim Crow laws that persisted for 100 years after the abolition of slavery. Cohen noted that no president has officially apologized for allowing slavery. The bill had picked up thirty-six co-sponsors by the end of the day.[1]
