Territorial Flag of Azad Kashmir; Officially the State ensign of Kashmir (External Government) The Free state flag itself displays the Pan-Pakistani national colours, White and dark green, with the traditional symbols of the Muslim majority (crescent and star) and the Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh miniorities (a safron square). The four white stripes symbolize the four main rivers of Kashmir; Indus, Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi Symbolically the flag represents many aspects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir:

Three Fourths green background representing the 75% Muslim population of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. One Fourth Orange (Gold) color represents the 25% minorities of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The Green stripes represent the Valley of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The White stripes represent the snow-covered mountains of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The Crescent and Star is the usual semblance of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Territorial Federal Flag of the National Capital, Islamabad The flag for Islamabad - capital of Pakistan - is primarily based on the National Flag of Pakistan. The diagonal design is to differentiate it from the national flag. The square shape is to make the triangles symmetric. The star and crescent are 'regular' as in the national flag. The black colour is added to give it a distinct look. Black was the colour used for the flag at the time of the conquest of Makkah by the Prophet Muhammed.
