Gene and Jim are hired by "Rachel" to escort her as she services farm equipment. They are attacked by Guild pirates and learn Rachel is really Hilda. The pursuing pirates are defeated, and they find a box containing a girl.
"Star of Desire"	1998	January 16, 2001	2
The girl in the container is Melfina. They then take Hilda's spaceship Horus to Blue Heaven, an outlaw hangout. Gene and Hilda go to a bar and get in an altercation with McCoy, later they attacked that night in their (shared) bedroom.
"Into Burning Space"	1998	January 17, 2001	3
They defeat the attackers and head into space. On their way they defeat Aisha Clanclan's ship in a game of chicken. Aisha is demoted as a result, and left on Blue Heaven. Late, Hilda finds the Guild Pirates have killed her friends; they head for Farfallus.
"When the Hot Ice Melts"	1998	January 18, 2001	4
The Horus arrives at Farfallus (a star) and docks on an asteroid containing the XGP15A-II, an advanced spaceship. Melfina is made the navigator, with a link to the ship. They are attacked by the MacDougall brothers, and Hilda blows herself up while protecting them.
"The Beast Girl, Ready to Pounce!"	1998	January 19, 2001	5
The crew of the Outlaw Star heads back to Blue Heaven, where they are accosted by Aisha. She demands the whereabouts of Hilda and then the Galactic Leyline. The Outlaw Star and its crew then leave for Sentinel III to buy armaments for the ship from Fred Luo.

The crew gets to Fred Luo's. Suzuka attempts to kill Fred but is foiled by Gene. He tricks her into agreeing that she must kill Gene before killing Fred and leaves. Fred supplies them with weapons and supplies.
"Creeping Evil"	1998	January 23, 2001	7
The crew scrounges for A Kei pirate attacks Melfina but Suzuka intervenes, killing the senjutso master. The crew then meets up on the Outlaw Star and Suzuka asks to help out because of her dislike towards the Kei pirates.
"Forced Departure"	1998	January 24, 2001	8
Gene is poisoned from his previous battle with a Kei pirate. Melfina purges the poison as the Kei Pirates attack the ship. They defeat the pirates and set a course for Heifong, the Ban pirate's world, in search of work.
"A Journey of Adventure! Huh?"	1998	January 25, 2001	9
In desperate need of money, Gene hatches a plan to go bounty hunting at the Toward Star Inn spaceport. He and Jim go after the legendary criminal Zomba, but it turns out to be a cyborg stand in, and Suzuka has caught the real Zomba.

The Outlaw Star reaches Heifong and they enter the 13th Heifong Space Race, with help from Fred Luo. Aisha joins them, and they pursue Harry MacDougall, who is also an entrant. A race official named Gwen Khan seems to recognize the Outlaw Star as the XGP.

They defeat Harry MacDougall and come in fourth by taking enormous risks. After Aisha is convinced Gene knows nothing about the Galactic Leyline, she decides to stay on the Outlaw Star. They break even in their deal with Fred Luo.
"Mortal Combat with the El Dorado"	1998	January 30, 2001	12
Gene is given a comm cube from the El Dorado, Harry MacDougall's ship. They go to meet him, and despite Harry bringing two ships, defeat him. Harry escapes and is picked up by his older brother.
"Advance Guard from an Alien World"	1998	January 31, 2001	13
Gene goes on a date, Aisha hunts a monster, and Jim and Melfina go on a job to catch a rare cactus and insect. They all converge on a mind controlling cactus and killer insect. Melfina who is immune to the mind control, destroys it.
"Final Countdown"	1998	February 1, 2001	14
The Outlaw Star is on a seemingly ordinary tug job, when the the ship they're pushing latches onto them and takes out their computer. It turns out that a robber name Crackerjack is pretending to be a terrorist. They defeat the robbers/terrorists.
"The Seven Emerge"	1998	February 2, 2001	15
Hazanko gathers six of the Anten Seven together and explains that they will have to kill Gene Starwind, and that he has already sent the seventh, Shimi. They defeat Shimi, and leave him seemingly dead.
"Demon of the Water Planet"	1998	February 5, 2001	16
The crew is hired by an old man to go on a treasure hunt. A hoard of dragonite is protected by a giant creature. The crew recovers the dragonite and makes their escape thanks to a suicide run at the creature performed by the old man. They break even.
"Between Life and Machine"	1998	February 6, 2001	17
An unknown client (actually Ronald MacDougall) contacts the crew. They fight him while Harry tries to kidnap Melfina back at the ship. The brothers are defeated and Gwen Khan gives them information about the Galactic Leyline.
"The Strongest Woman in the Universe"	1998	February 7, 2001	18
Gene and Aisha enter the Universal Strongman Contest at Fred's request. If a woman wins once more, Fred will have to marry her. Instead, Iraga enters and defeats her. She attacks Gene, but Aisha beats her.
"Law and Lawlessness"	1998	February 8, 2001	19
The Outlaw Star is captured by security forces. The security forces attempt to help an injured civilian ship, but it is a Trojan horse. The Outlaw Star and its crew save the security forces and are rewarded with dragonite.
"Cats and Girls and Spaceships"	1998	February 9, 2001	20
The Outlaw Star battles a mysterious ship and retreats. They dock at an outpost and Jim meets a girl (Hanmyo) and goes on a date. They later meet and destroy the mysterious ship. It was Hanmyo; Jim has killed the girl he liked without knowing it.
"Grave of the Dragon"	1998	February 12, 2001	21
The crew searches for answers in a galactic ruins. Harry and Ronald try and kidnap Melfina, they are rebuffed. Later at an outpost, Professor Khan puts Melfina to sleep with code words and tells Gene to go to a prison for information on the Leyline.
"Gravity Jailbreak"	1998	February 13, 2001	22
Gene goes to prison. Saiyo Wong, who has the coordinates for the Galactic Leyline is also there. They escape and the man gives Gene a device which he says contains the coordinates. Professor Khan wakes Melfina up.
"Hot Springs of Planet Tenrei"	1998	Not aired	23
The group goes to the vacation world Tenrei so Gene can look for Caster shells. The girls relax in the hot springs and Gene meets with two priests. They give him Caster shells, but first Gene gets them lewd footage of a third female priest. Due to the amount of fanservice and nudity, this was the only episode not to be aired on Toonami.
"Cutting the Galactic Leyline"	1998	February 15, 2001	24
The Outlaw Star, the MacDougall brothers with Gwen Kahn, and Hazanko and his crew enter the Galactic Leyline, a giant black and gold cylinder. A disembodies voice asks them questions and teleports Melfina away from them.
"Maze of Despair"	1998	February 16, 2001	25
Each crewmember takes on and beats a member of the Anten Seven. Hazanko, Ronald MacDougall, and Gene get close to Melfina, as Jim, Aisha and Suzuka head back to the ship. Harry helps Gene get past a gate, then expires from wounds caused by Hazanko.
"Return to Space"	1998	February 16, 2001	26
Gene and Hazanko kill each other in battle. The Leyline takes them to cyberspace and revives them, granting their wishes. Gene gets Melfina, and Hazanko gets ultimate power. They defeat Hazanko with the Leyline's powers and each crew member goes their separate ways.
