List of NRIs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Non Resident Indians (NRIs) are people who are ethnically Indian but live outside India. This includes people who have migrated recently who might be holding an Indian or foreign citizenship, and descendants of those who migrated primarily in the 19th and 20th centuries who probably will be holding a foreign citizenship. This list might contain some Sri Lankan Tamils, as some of them are classified as Indian in their resident country e.g. Singapore and Malaysia.

[edit] United Arab Emirates
Although Indians have traded with the Arabs for several centuries and continue to do so, unlike other nations on this list where people of Indian origin can be citizens of those nations, this is not the case in the United Arab Emirates and other parts of the Middle East. Wealth and prominence go hand here, as it is the Indians who are keen participants in Business Circles who also command the most face time in the local press and media, therefore it is no surprise that the most prolific Indians in the Middle East also part of the wealthiest and most powerful trading familes in this region.
