List of Mixtecan languages
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These languages (or language variants) are listed within their families in alphabetical order according to the generic name (Cuicatec, Mixtec, Triqui/Trique) and the three-letter (ISO 639-3) code. The name given for the individual variant is usually the name of the town or region within Mexico where the variant is spoken. The ISO codes link to the corresponding Ethnologue entry. Where there is an SIL-MX Mixtec subsite for that variant, a link is given to that subsite. It will be noted that Teutila Cuicatec is considered to belong to a language family of its own, whereas Tepeuxila Cuicatec is within the same language family with the languages called Mixtec.
The approximate numbers of language speakers are taken from the official 2000 Mexico census figures.
