There are currently 14 male dorms at Notre Dame. They are:
- Alumni Hall - built 1931. Capacity: 260 residents.
- Famous residents: Richard Lyng (Secretary of Agriculture) and Jerome Bettis (NFL player).
- Carroll Hall - built in 1906 as a seminary, it was sold to Notre Dame in the 1960s for use as a dorm. It is named for Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Capacity: 103 residents.
- Famous residents: Carlyle Holiday (NFL player), Arnaz Battle (NFL player), Bertrand Berry (NFL player), Julius Jones (NFL player), Tony Weaver (NFL player)
- Dillon Hall - built in 1931. It was named after Fr. Patrick Dillon. Capacity: 334 residents.
- Famous residents: Paul Hornung (1956 Heisman Trophy winner, NFL player), Tony Rice (Notre Dame quarterback for 1988 championship team), Bill Laimbeer (NBA player), Brady Quinn (Notre Dame football player)
- Fisher Hall - built in 1952. It was named after Fred Fisher, former president of the Notre Dame Board of Trustees. Capacity: 185 residents.
- Famous residents: Joe Montana (NFL player), LaPhonso Ellis (NBA player), Orlando Woolridge (NBA player),
- Keenan Hall - built in 1957. It was named after alumni donor James Keenan. Capacity: 291 residents.
- Famous residents: Joe Theismann (NFL player, broadcaster), Steve Bartman (Cubs fan)
- Marilyn M. Keough Hall - built in 1996. It was named after the wife of donor Donald Keough.
- Famous residents: Travis Thomas (Notre Dame football player)
- Knott Hall - built in 1988. It is named after Marion Burk Knott. Capacity: 240 residents.
- Famous residents: Sam Young, David Grimes, Ray Herring (Notre Dame football players), Daniel Rave (swimmer)
- Morrissey Manor - built in 1925. It is named after Andrew Morrissey, the 7th president of Notre Dame. Capacity: 260 residents.
- Famous residents: Carl Yastrzemski (baseball player)
- O'Neill Hall - built in 1996. It is named for Joseph O'Neill. Capacity: 284 residents.
- Famous residents: Darius Walker (Notre Dame football player), David Givens (NFL player), Geoff Price (Notre Dame football player), Jason Zimbler (actor), Maurice Stovall (NFL player)
- St. Edward's Hall - built in 1882 as a boarding school, it became a Notre Dame residence hall in 1925. It is named for its chapel, which is dedicated to St. Edward the Confessor. Capacity: 177 residents.
- Famous residents: Paul Hornung (Heisman Trophy winner, 1956), Phil Donahue (talk show host)
- Siegfried Hall - built in 1988. It is named after donor Ray Siegfried. Capacity: 240 residents.

- Sorin Hall - built in 1888 as the first dormitory at Notre Dame. It is named for Fr. Edward Sorin, the founder of Notre Dame. Capacity: 151 residents.
- Notable residents: Knute Rockne (Notre Dame football coach), George Gipp (Notre Dame football player), Moose Krause (Notre Dame basketball player and coach), the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame (Harry Stuhldreher, Don Miller, Jim Crowley, and Elmer Layden - Notre Dame football players), and Fr. Edward Malloy (16th president of Notre Dame).
- Stanford Hall - built in 1957. It was named after donor Grattan T. Stanford, class of 1904. Capacity: 277.
- Notable residents: Colin Falls (Notre Dame basketball player), Terry Hanratty (Notre Dame football player), Joe Kernan (governor of Indiana), Ted Leo (musician), Rhema McKnight (Notre Dame football player)
- Zahm Hall - built in 1937. It is named after Fr. John Augustine Zahm, priest, author, and explorer. Capacity: 229 residents.
