From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article contains a list of the episodes for the two anime adaptations for Kanon and an additional OVA. Note that none of the English translations are official titles, other than the fifth episode of the original anime series - "The Fox and the Grapes". This is due to no form of the title being written in the Japanese language.

Movie poster from episode six.
Movie poster from episode six.
  • Kyoto Animation, the animation studio which made the Kanon remake, has been known to add references from their previous works in their future works, such as:
    • In episode one, as Yuichi and Nayuki are waiting to cross a street, a bus passes by with an advertisement of Misuzu Kamio's favorite drink from the series Air. The drink makes another appearance in episode twenty-three when Yuichi looks into the fridge of the real Makoto Sawatari
    • In episode three, Ayu and Yuichi walk in front of a bookstore named Shimano Books which was also featured in episode two of Air.
    • In episode four, Akiko buys rice from the same place Minagi Tōno's mother bought rice from Air. Also in episode four there is a reference to Key's older game One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e.[1]
    • In episode six, the poster for the horror movie that Ayu and Yuichi see is a reference to one of Key's older games, Moon..[1]
    • In episode thirteen, Mai gives Ayu the same cookie as Minagi Tōno's mother gave Yukito Kunisaki from Air, episode 2. When Sayuri and Yuichi are looking for a present for Mai, there is a sloth plushy visible; the same soft toy was given by Misuzu from Air to Yukito. There is also a toy which resembles Potato, only it is brown.
    • Rumi Nanase from One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e has cameo appearances in several points of the anime.[2]
  • The non-Japanese words included in the original titles of the episodes are all names or subgenres of classical music composition.
  • Pachelbel's Canon in D often plays as characters visit either a café or a parlor. It was first played in episode one, while Ayu and Yuichi hid in a café. Then, during episode eleven, the song was played in an ice-cream parlor Nayuki and Yuichi were visiting. The song was played during the fourteenth episode, as Sayuri and Yuichi visited that same café. The final appearance of the song was in the final episode when Akiko and Yuichi are in a café.
  • In episode three, at timestamp 18:25-18:28, a bench is pictured with the a figurine on both sides exactly like that of the K in the Kanon logo.
  • In episode four between timestamp 11:40-11:42, there is in advertisement in a store window with the word Kanon.
  • In episode eleven, between timestamp 2:00-2:02, one of Makoto's manga has the word Key on it.
  • In episode twelve, during the dance scene between Yuichi and Mai, the waltz from the Sleeping Beauty Ballet composed by Tchaikovsky is played.
