This is a list of chapters of the manga InuYasha based on the official English translation of the series by Rumiko Takahashi. There are currently 28 volumes which have been translated and published in English. The chapters in those volumes are called "scrolls". Volume 29 is expected to be in stores Apr. 10, 2007. [1]
[edit] Manga versus Ani-Manga
The manga should not be confused with the ani-manga.
InuYasha is unusual in that there are two series of manga volumes being published for it. The original manga were drawn by Rumiko Takahashi in black and white. When translated to English, left and right were reversed so that English speakers could read them from left to right instead of from right to left as is normal in Japan. These are the volumes described in this article.
There is another another series of manga volumes, called "ani-manga", which are derived from the anime (which was loosely based on the original manga). The ani-manga use colored frames from the anime and read from right to left (as in Japan) which is now normal for manga in English. The volumes are slightly smaller, have new cover art, use higher quality paper, and are more expensive than the manga. They are organized into chapters corresponding to the anime episodes. For example, the first volume of the ani-manga covers episodes: 1. The Girl Who Overcame Time... and the Boy Who Was Just Overcome (equivalent to scrolls 1 and 2 of volume 1 of the manga), 2. Seekers of the Sacred Jewel (equivalent to scrolls 3, 4, and 5 of volume 1 of the manga), and 3. Down the Rabbit Hole and Back Again (equivalent to scrolls 6 and 7 of volume 1 of the manga, scroll 8 is not reached). See also List of InuYasha episodes.
