	Gon has a run in with a Fox Bear in the forest. A mysterious stranger saves Gon, and kills the beast. Gon prevents him from killing a Fox Bear cub, and the man tells him about the Hunter Exam.
	"Encounter x Intimidation x Departure"		2
	Gon's aunt Mito gives him the go ahead to take the Hunter Exam, and Gon goes to town to catch a ship to the exam. In town, Gon befriends Leorio, who is also intent on taking the exam, and they take down a cruel animal show. In the end, they board the ship.
	"Pride x Stormy Ocean x Duel"		3
	On the ship to the exam, Gon and Leorio meet Kurapika. The captain asks each for their reason to be a hunter. Gon wants to find his father, Leorio wants to be rich, and Kurapika wants to be a force for justice.
	"Decision x Shortcut x Long Way"		4
	The ship's captain recommends they go towards a tree on the top of a mountain instead of directly at their goal. Leorio takes the bus and the rest head towards the tree. The bus is a trap, and Leorio catches up with them. Mashu, an examinee they meet travels with them and then betrays them. They successfully answer a riddle with silence, asked by an examiner, and move on to the next test.
	"Lie x Truth? x Kiriko"		5
	Gon, Kurapika and Leorio continue on the test, arriving at a cabin in the woods. A husband and wife say they have been attacked by beasts, when a beast shows up and kidnaps the wife. Leorio stays to treat the husband's wounds as Gon and Kurapika help the wife. In the end it turns out the couple and the beasts are a family and they find the group worthy of continuing to the next test.

	Gon, Kurapika and Leorio reach the first stage of the exam, a seemingly endless forced run through a tunnel. They are befriended by Tompa, a man taking the exam for the 35th time, and meet Killua, another entrant. In the end Tompa betrays Leorio, as Gon and Kurapika go looking for them.
	"Trauma x Limit x Sweet Trap"		7
	Tompa has placed Leorio near hallucinogenic sap. In a dream state, he explains that he wants to be a hunter to get money so he can become a doctor who doesn't charge for his services. Gon and Killua bond. At the end of the first test, a man appears and accuses the examiner of being a fake.

	Hisoka determines the real examiner by flinging deadly playing cards at each man, reasoning the true hunter will live, and it's the original examiner. Later, Hiroku plays at being an examiner and kills many of the test takers. Although Hiroku is able to kill them, he recognizes that Gon and Leorio are special and lets them live.
	"Menchi x Seriously Pissed x Second Exam?"		9
	The group starts the second phase of the test, satisfy Buhara and Menchi with their cooking. Everyone satisfies Buhara's taste for BBQ pork, but they all fail to make sushi good enough for Menchi. She then fails every test taker.
	"Failing Score x Panic x Voice From Heaven"		10
	While Todo criticizes Menchi and all epicure hunters, the head examiner arrives and makes Menchi give everyone another chance. The test takers collect spider eagle eggs, and Todo learns to respect epicure hunters, vowing to return and be one.
	"Explore x Sports Spirit x Stowaway"		11
	The protagonists and others have passed the first exam, and they fly towards the next exam on a blimp. Anita, a girl who failed the earlier test sneaks aboard to get revenge on Killua for the death of her father. The hunters capture her, and the master examiner Netero offers to free her if Gon and Killua can take a ball from him.
	"Good Boy? x Bad Boy? x Killua"		12
	Killua stops trying to take the ball from Netero because his killer instincts are surfacing. Anita escapes her handlers and attacks Killua, who comes close to killing Anita, but lets her live because that's what Gon would want. Gon is never able to get the ball, but makes Netero go all out, and is satisfied.
	"Agreement x Disagreement x Trap"		13
	The third exam is to get down from a tower alive. The group is forced to team up with Tompa, and their test is to win 3 out of 5 matches against tower prisoners. Tompa takes the first match, and promptly gives up. He explains that he doesn't want to be a hunter, he just likes watching examinees fail and be killed.
	"Candles x Principle x Internal Feud"		14
	Gon faces the next prisoner, in a match to see who's candle can burn the longest. Gon is given a candle that burns extra quickly, but because of this it isn't susceptible to the wind, and Gon goes and blows out his opponent's candle. Kurapika engages in a death match with the next opponent, but refuses to kill him after seeing red (literally) and knocking the criminal unconscious.
	"Transient x Life x Majitani"		15
	Kurapika's opponent feigns unconsciousness in an attempt to run out the clock. Leorio and the leader of the prisoners bet on whether he's faking. Leorio holds the man above a long drop, and the man wakes up. He concedes the match to Kurapika, but the group loses a large chunk of their time because of the bet.
	"Rock x Scissor x Heart"		16
	Leorio goes next. His opponent is Lelute, an attractive woman. He loses ten hours in bet to her so that he can grope her. He then loses the rest of their betting hours to her in a game of rock, paper scissors. Killua then faces Jones the Dismantler, a man responsible for the murder of 146 people with his bare hands. Killua rips out his heart.
	"Three People? x Five People? x Last Choice"		17
	The last test to get out of the tower will only allow three of the five make it. Leorio and Tompa start fighting to see who will stay, when Gon thinks outside the box. They bust through a wall with axes provided so they could fight, and all five make it.
	"Treasures x Rememberance x Hotel's Little Room"		18
	The successful examinees are taken by blimp to an island hotel. In order to pay for there rooms, they dive to collect treasure from sunken ships. Kurapika explains to Leorio that his people were killed by the Phantom Brigade for their eyes. When a member of the Kuruta dies with rey eyes, their eyes become valuable jewels.
	"Separated x Diary x Water Immerses"		19
	The hotel proprietors leave the examinees stranded on the island. A map is found indicating another island nearby, and part of the group sets out immediately to find it, dying when a storm hits. The ninja, Hanzo, and Kurapika sensed the danger and are elected leaders of the people who stay. They learn of a storm that comes in daily waves, the second of which will submerge the island, so they have one day to escape.
	"Giant Wave x Cannon x Huge Rush"		20
	The group works together to separate the battleship/hotel from the island before the second wave of the storm hits. Leorio gets stuck on the bottom of the ocean in a dive-suit, and Gon helps him escape. Gon is then saved by a mysterious examinee with ties to Hisoka. They separate the ship just in time, and a blimp comes to pick them up.
	"Fourth Exam x 44 x Number of Death"		21
	The fourth exam is a manhunt. Each examinee must collect 6 points; their own number plate is worth 3, the number plate of their target is worth 3, and any other number plates are worth 1. Gon's target is Hisoka, and he practices catching birds with his fishing pole to prepare. He realizes he must attack Hisoka when Hisoda attacks his own target. Gon learns this by watching birds catch fish from the water.
	"Found Him! x Hide! x Catch Up!"		22
	Gon stalks Hisoka, and observes Hisoka's friend transform into his real appearance. The man with pins is actually Killua's older brother, Illumi. Then Hisoka decides to hunt other participants for two more points. He meet Kurapika and Leorio, but let them go instead of forcing them to give their plate numbers because Kurapika make a deal with him and the two aren't Hisoka's target. However, they make Hisoka excited and his blood lust heightens. Gon happens to be scared, but he keep watch. While Hisoka kills one participant, Gon finally steals his plate number.
	"Hizoka x Crash x Gon"		23
	Hisoka goes after Leorio and Kurapika, but they trade him a number plate worth 1 to them. Hisoka then starts glowing and telling himself to calm down, causing Gon and the forest creatures to sense something horrible. Gon gets Hisoka's number plate while Hisoka kills another examinee. Gon is poisoned by and relieved of his plates by Geruta, another examinee, but Hisoka returns them, including his own number plate. Gon tries to refuse it, but cannot. Hisoka tells Gon he will kill him when the time is right, until then he will protect him.
	"Damage x Resume x Fake Smile"		24
	Several days pass as Gon recovers from being poisoned. Killua is stalked by Umori, one of three brothers. Umori's brothers Imori and Amori show up, and Killua bests them and gets his number plate from Amori. All the protagonists now have their points except for Leorio, who goes looking for Ponzu, the girl whose number he drew. He finds her in a cave, but is poisoned by snakes. Gon and Kurapika go to help him.
	"Slimy x Stingy x Inside a Cave"		25
	Gon, Leorio and Kurapika become trapped in the cave with Ponzu. Leorio has been poisoned, and Gon gets bit numerous times to retrieve the antidote. Gon uses Ponzu's sleeping gas to put the snakes to sleep while holding his breath and rescuing everyone. Leorio takes Ponzu's number plate while she sleeps and Gon retrieves the number plates given to him by Hisoka, reasoning that it's OK to use them so that he can remain with his friends. The fourth exam then ends.
	"President x Interview x Paper Test"		26
	Todo interviews the 10 remaining examinees in preparation for the final test. He asks each who they are interested in, and who would they least like to fight out of the 10. He then unveils a brackets system for the upcoming battle royale between the remaining examinees.
	"Hisoka x Kurapica x The Spider's Whisper"		27
	Hisoka and Kurapica fight in the first fight of the final examination. Hisoka toys with Kurapica at the beginning, but when Kurapica becomes angry they are on similar levels. This causes Hisoka to force himself to calm down. He then whispers something to Kurapika and declares himself the loser of the match. Kurapika is now a hunter.
	"Chat x Excuses x Comparing Guts"		28
	The next fight is between Hanzo and Gon. Although Gon tries his hardest to combat Hanzo, it is obvious he is no match for the ninja. Hanzo severely injures Gon (even breaking his arm) but Gon will not admit defeat. Gon feels that if he is ever to find his father, he must pass the hunter exam now.
	"Passed! x Failed? x End of Exams"		29
	Hanzo and Gon continue fighting. Hanzo is easily the better fighter, but when Gon won't concede, Hanzo is forced to accept defeat. Hanzo decides he'd rather lose than kill Gon, because he likes him. Gon is knocked unconscious during the match and wakes up to find the matches over. Satotsu explains to him that he's a hunter, and that Hisoka defeated Bodoro. Hanzo defeats Pokkuru in a match, and Killua concedes a match to Pokkuru before facing a disguised Illumi.
	"Killua x Drop Out x Turn Back with Force"		30
	Satotsu explains to Gon that Killua has failed the final exam. His opponent turns out to be his older brother Illumi in disguise. Illumi questions Killua and determines him unfit to be a normal person. He believes that Killua should only and tells him to return home to become an assassin. Illumi threatens to kill Gon if Killua even attempts to fight him, so Killua gives up. Killua murders Bodoro in the middle of his match with Leorio for no reason and is disqualified. Gon then confronts Illumi and breaks his arm, deciding to then look for Killua.
	"Dismissed x Party x Enemies are Bound to Meet Scioglimento X Festa X Legame"		31
	Gon is determined that Killua has left against his will and Gon is going to find him. He fights Illumi for information and Illumi is about to kill him when Hisoka shows up. Illumi instead tells Gon that Killua is at the Zaoldyeck family home. Leorio is about to go to medical school and Kurapika is about to leave on his first job when both change their minds and decide to follow Gon as he looks for Killua.
	"Tour x Tourist Attraction x Killua's House Turismo X Attrazione X Residenza"		32
	Gon, Leorio and Kurapika take a train towards Killua's home. The last leg of the trip is spent on a tour bus, led by Coco-chan, that takes them to the giant gate that leads towards Kukuruu mountain, where Killua lives. A monster named Mike waits within the gate, so Gon asks the security guard to call Killua and have him open it from the inside.
	"Addestramento X Cane X Sbam Training x Hound x Concerted Effort"		33
	The group (Gon, Leorio and Kurapika) stays in the Zaoldyeck families servants quarters at the security guards behest. The guard let them in through the super heavy Gate of Trial, and Gon feels he should have been able to let himself in. While they stay there, the guard trains them with super heavy brooms and water buckets. They end up extremely strong. After 20 days they are able to open the gate, and they start walking through the grounds towards the house.
	"Skateboard x Probationer x Real Intention"		34
	The group meets a red haired girl while walking toward Killua's home. She has Killua's skateboard, and refuses to let them pass. Repeatedly Gon walks over a line she drew, and each time she sends him flying with her mace. Eventually, she explains that she is Kanaria, a servant of Killua's. Gon tells her Killua gave the skateboard to her because they're friends, so she should let Killua's other friends pass. She let's them pass, but is immediately hit by an unknown projectile.
	"Killua x Punishment x Family Conference"		35
	Killua's mother Kikyou and brother Karuto (who is drawn as a girl) have knocked Kanaria out. They tell Gon that Killua doesn't have time to see them and leave. When Kanaria wakes up, she and Gon's group head to the house. Meanwhile, Killua has a talk with his father Silva, who makes Killua promise to never betray his friends. He then lets Killua leave to find Gon. Later, Silva tells Kikyou that Killua will be back because he's his father's son.
	"Coin x Reunion x Change of Clothes"		36
	Kanaria and Gon's group arrive at the servant's entrance and are greeted by Goto, who manages the Zaoldyeck family. He plays a game of chance with the group, with seemingly deadly stakes. It turns out this was just to entertain them until Killua arrives. He does, and they all leave. At the airport, the group splits up but they all agree to meet in six months.
	"Sky x Fighting x Cultivation of a Samurai"		37
	Gon and Killua decide to fight professionally in order to train and make money. They go to a 200 story building, where every 10 floor increase represents more difficult opponents. Gon's power has increased dramatically from training on the Zaoldyeck grounds, and he sends his opponent flying. Killua faces Zushi, another child who is competing, and Killua senses he can use a technique similar to Illumi's. Killua vows to meet Zushi on the top floor to learn more.
	"Burn x Idea x Nen?"		38
	Killua and Gon learn about Nen from Zushi's teacher. Nen involves using your body's auro while fighting and healing. On their way to register for the fights on the 200 floor, they're stopped by Hisoka. He's been keeping tabs on them, and he doesn't think they're ready to fight at a high level. He uses his Nen to block them, and they have 3 hours to learn enough Nen to get past him, or Killua can never fight in the Sky Arena again.
	"Convene Skill x Register x The Fight Begins"		39
	Gon and Killua are able to make it past Hisoka's Ren and enter the fights. Gon immediately wants to test his new powers and fights against a man who uses his Ren and toy taps as weapons. He initially beats up Gon, but Gon learns to use his Zetsu to sense the tops and avoid them.
	"Two Month's Rest x Restrict Spirits x With Spirits"		40
	Gon is finally healed as he and Killua continue working on their Nen. Kurapika is shown looking for work, and being turned down. The girl who would hire him tells him if he can't see something invisible in the room, then he's not ready for a job. Leorio is shown studying medicine and looking at a picture of him and the other examinees. Hisoka begins a match with Kastro.
	"Bandage x Blow x Last for Winning"		41
	Gon and Killua learn their types of Hatsu; Gon is an Enhancer and Killua is a Transformer. Gon fights Hisoku, and while over-matched, gets a punch in and gives back the number plate that Hisoka gave him during the exam.
	"Hisoka's Love x Duel x Gon's Earnestness"		42
	Gon and Hisoka continue their fight. Hisoka has attached his "Bungy Gum" to Gon's face and can pull him in to punch him. The referee awards the win to Hisoka in a way that allows Gon to win. At the end Hisoka is shown to have some connection with the Genei Ryodan; he has a spider tattoo on his back that can remove. Machi tells them her boss won't be pleased if he doesn't make a Genei Ryodan meeting.
	"Talent x Distraught x Nature of Killing"		43
	After Gon's match, Killua decides that he will compete as well, to test his own strength. The three dudes (one of them is the guy that uses the spinning tops) kidnap Zushi to bribe Killua into forfeiting his matches with the three of them, so they can get easy wins. However, Killua makes sure that they will fight honestly and don't cheat, but Sadoro withdraws due to his fear of Killua, who he says, "Came from the darkest corners of the world."
	"Waste x Decision x Match Results"		44
	Gon and Killua master their Nen abilities and show them in perfection against matches with the other two guys that Killua talked to (although Killua didn't use Nen in his match). Wing-san talks with them and tells Gon that he has passed the Hunter's Exam. PAY ATTENTION TO THE SCENE WHERE GON AND KILLUA MEET THE ELEVATOR GIRL! Lastly, Gon and Killua venture out to Whale Island.

	Kurapica's flashbacks with his master are seen here. The flashbacks tell how Kurapica got his chains, what Nen group he belongs to, and how he changed. He meets someone that is clued to be a future ally for Kurapica.

	Kurapica got a fever. Killua and Gon go to the auction but not buy the Greed Island game but ask to the one who bought it to may play it.

	Killua and Gon go to train they ultimate technique, Killua uses electricity and Gon just much power. Kurapica leaves with an airplane.
	"Ren x Exam x Everyone's First Step"		3
	Gon and Killua have trained and go to do the "Greed Island player's exam". They both pass. Then they say goodbye to Leorio and go to the place they begin to play. Gon goes first.
	"Start x Spell x City of Prizes"		4
	Gon got his game introduction and together with Killua have set his first steps in the "Greed Island game". They have meeted a player who has set a "trace-card" on Killua so he can find him always. Then they went to a town and got their first cards. They also saw a man die.
	"Invitation x List x Rock, Paper, Scissors!"		5
	Gon and Killua not join the alliance but to go on their own. They win their first card in a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" competition. It's card #83, "The Sword of Truth".
	"Take x Taken x Card Hell"		6
	Gon and Killua continuing playing but "The Sword of Truth" get's stolen. Some members of the Spider also play ingame with their stolen "Greed Island Game".
	"Bandits x Monsters x Biscuit"		7
	Gon and Killua continue to the city where you can get spell-cards and meet bandits who rob them very tricky, much monsters and more. The girl who followed them helps them and instructs them a bit.
	"Training x Raw Ore x Scissor Hands"		8
	Gon, Killua and Biske (their female trainer) are attacked by a guy. They kind of defeat him and train 2 days on him till he gives up. They learned a lot from this training.
	"Masadora x Rush x Bomber"		1
	Gon and Killua learn much abilities from their teacher Bisuke (the girl). They must dig trough rocks and more.
	"Jyonen x New Year's x Hunter Exam"		2
	Killua goes to re-take the hunter exam because it's new year's eve. He already becomes a hunter in the first test because he takes the plates of all the candidates. Gon still trains his ability's with Biske while the bomber has blown much people.
	"Encounter x Kuroro x Gold Dust Girl"		3
	Gon and Killua have mastered their abilities and going to get some cards. They do it like a piece of cake because of their training and get much cards.
	"Contact x Razor x United Front"		4
	Gon and Killua continuing playing and have more than 50 cards (out of the 100). Bomber and this team have got 96 cards and a united front rises to monopolize one of the cards they still need so they wont get it.
	"Meeting Again x Hisoka x Sporting Event"		5
	Gon, Killua and Bisuke go with their united team to get the difficult card. They fail because of their bad team and gather a new team which is better. They get Hisoka in their team and also 5 others.
	"Lighthouse x Eight People x Game Master"		6
	After gathering their team they do the sports game again. They have to do a very difficult game and even fight a game master! Throwing balls.
	"Jan x Ken x Guu"		7
	The team of Gon and Killua wins some times also with Gon's special smash attack. Then in the opponent's field there's only the game master and in their field there are Gon, Killua and Hisoka. 3-1.
	"Unite x Impact x Bungee Gum"		8
	Gon's team wins and they get card #2. The game master tells about Gin, gon's father and Hisoka goes his own way.
	"Struggle x Pinch x War Declaration"		9
	A fight is coming. Gon is training his abillities, but that doesn't work very good. Killua has thought of a plan.
	"Stakeout x Preparation x Battle's Start"		10
	Gon has trained much and is prepared to fight. The daughter of the big boss has died and he has given up the idea to end the game (greed island). Let the battle between Gon, Killua and Bisuke against Bomber and his camerades begin...
	"Bisuke x Killua x New Special Attack"		11
	Killua fights and wins, Bisuke fights and wins, Gon fights the bomber but you don't come to know wether he wins or not.
	"Energy x Stiffnes x Little Flower"		12
	Gon still fights with Gensuru (bomber) and looses 1 hand. He tried some tricks and even was selfishness.
	"Cruelty x Determination x Climax"		13
	Gon wins from Gensuru and can take all his cards. They heal each other (also Gon's hand) and have 99 card now together! A quiz event for the last card comes in 10 minutes. They only need card #00 to win the Greed Island game...
	"G.I. x Everything Cleared x Finale"		14
	Everybody in Greed Island does the quiz and Gon wins with 87 out of 99 questions good. He gets the #00 card and gets instructions to go to Greed Island Castle. There he meets 2 other game masters who give him his reward. Reward: a small binder where you can put 3 cards in which you can use after completing the game. With Killua and Bisuke they finish the game and come in the real world. There Gon and Killua use one of their 3 cards they have obtained: accompany. Then they fly to the father of Gon, Ging. He is fishing by a river, the end...
