"The Bedouin" was never mentioned in the Highlander film, only its novelization. He was an Arab bedouin who became the Kurgan's mentor at some point after 974 BC. In fact, he was the closest thing to a friend that the Kurgan ever had. The Bedouin taught him all about the Immortals and The Game. The Bedouin believed one should learn to kill an opponent as soon as possible, because if one passed up a chance to take a rival's head, that rival would surely have become stronger by the next time he was encountered. The Kurgan took this advice to heart: when MacLeod's future foe had learnt everything the Arab had to teach him, he took his mentor's head while he slept. According to the novelization, this was the Kurgan's first Quickening. The book also details that, for a while, he kept the Arab's sword, a scimitar.

Pierre Bouchet was a close friend of Connor MacLeod in the late 18th Century, in France. Not much is known about Bouchet's life, nor even if "Pierre Bouchet" was, in fact, his real name. In 1789, he began to frequent with MacLeod the house of Monsieur de Frenet, where MacLeod fell in love with de Frenet's English niece Sarah Barrington. Then, the French Revolution started, and Bouchet asked MacLeod to aid the populace during the conflict. Both fought on the revolutionary side, but MacLeod ended up being arrested by the royal troops in a fortress in Vincennes, a suburb of Paris, and sentenced to be executed by the guillotine. In the day of Connor’s execution, Bouchet visited Connor, and told him he had come to take Connor’s place. He had had enough of his life, and wanted peace. When the Highlander refused to let his friend die, Bouchet struck him unconscious, and took his place. Bouchet was beheaded by the guillotine, and no Quickening took place, since Connor was too far away to even receive it. There was no information in Highlander III concerning the year Bouchet died, but most Highlander fans consider it to have occurred circa 1790. However, the first execution by the guillotine only took place in 1792, and Louis XVI, King of France, died in January 1793 — therefore, taking historical facts into account, Bouchet died around 1792.
[edit] Iman Fasil

Race | Human, Immortal |
Gender | Male |
Hair color | Gray |
Eye color | Brown |
Born in | Italy |
Weapons | Spanish rapier |
Status | Deceased (1985) |
Killed by | Connor MacLeod |
Portrayed by | Peter Diamond |
First appearance | 'Highlander' |
Movies | 1 |
Iman Fasil was born in the winter, in northern Italy. He came from a noble family, but didn’t possess, however, a noble mind. When Fasil had his first death, he didn’t realize it since he was drunk. Later, his father, tired of how Fasil abused his inheritance and his position, cast him out. Fasil converted to Islam and fought with the Saracens during the Crusades, during which he learned much concerning the art of combat. He was also a skilled acrobat. After becoming immortal, he fought with a "Toledo Salamanca" rapier. Along with Connor MacLeod, The Kurgan, Sunda Kastagir, Yung Dol Kim, and Osta Vasilek, Fasil participated in the 1985 New York Gathering. He was the second Immortal to lose his head, after Vasilek, when he was decapitated by Connor MacLeod. He had challenged MacLeod in the parking garage of Madison Square Garden, where the Highlander had gone to see a wrestling match. The police found a Syrian passport with him, and discovered that Fasil had only entered in the country one week earlier. His death led MacLeod to meet Brenda Wyatt, a forensics investigator, who would later become his wife. Fasil was also mentioned in the "Beheadings" section of Connor MacLeod's Watcher database-page, and in the "Encounters" section of The Kurgan's page (they fought in the year 1640) in Highlander: The Series, from the episode "The Watchers." Therefore, Fasil also belongs in the TV series continuity, which doesn't acknowledge the existence of the 1985 Gathering as a so-called "final" event. In this continuity, Fasil was just another beheading.
[edit] Khabul Khan

Khabul Khan was taught the ways of the warrior in 14th century China, and rode with the barbarian Mongols for years as a mercenary scout. He had proven himself both an able tracker and ruthless assassin, attracting the attention of other more powerful Immortals such as Kane, who took Khan as one of his henchmen, along with Senghi Khan. Kane sought to defeat his former master Nakano in order to gain his powers of illusion through the Quickening. The three journeyed to Nakano’s cave at Mount Niri, where Kane beheaded Nakano in front of his current student, Connor MacLeod. The cave collapsed after the Quickening, and only MacLeod was able to escape. Kane and the Khans were trapped for centuries, missing the 1985 New York Gathering. They were released when archaeological excavations were made inside the cave in 1994. Khan was sent by Kane to New York to kill the Highlander. He found MacLeod in a hospital, and immediately attacked him, but the latter slew him with one stroke of the sword.

Senghi Khan was one of Kane’s henchmen, along with Khabul Khan. He was rumored to have been discovered in Genghis Khan's Mongolian army by Kane when Kane fought alongside Genghis. Kane sought to defeat his former master Nakano in order to gain his powers of illusion through the Quickening. The three went to Nakano’s cave at Mount Niri, where Kane beheaded Nakano in front of his current student, Connor MacLeod. The cave collapsed after the Quickening, and only MacLeod was able to escape. They were trapped for centuries, missing the 1985 New York Gathering. They were released when archaeological excavations were made to the cave in 1994. After being released, Kane beheaded Senghi Khan so that his Quickening would warn MacLeod that he was free once more. MacLeod sensed it, and immediately left his son John in Marrakech, and travelled to New York in order to prepare himself for the coming battle.
[edit] Yung Dol Kim

Yung Dol Kim appeared in a deleted scene in the original Highlander film. He was a Mongolian nomad plunderer, until becoming Immortal. In 1980s, he worked as a security guard in a Manhattan highrise skyscraper. He was one of the last six Immortals who competed in the 1985 Gathering, along with Connor MacLeod, the Kurgan, Sunda Kastagir, Iman Fasil, and Osta Vasilek. After the Kurgan killed Vasilek and MacLeod killed Fasil, the Kurgan confronted him at his work office, and the two fought. Kim fought with two katanas, but that wasn't enough to beat the Kurgan. Finally, he put his weapons down and kneeled before his foe. After 400 years, he was tired of The Game, and longed for peace. The Kurgan took his Quickening, which made the windows implode, sucking Kim's body out into space, and making him fall 40 stories to the earth.

The two fought for hours, until finally, the Kurgan was able to behead the Mongol’s horse and then the Mongol himself with a phenomenal single blow. After killing the Mongol, the Kurgan would go to Scotland in order to search for Connor MacLeod.
[edit] Mulet
Highlander character | |
|
|
---|---|
Race | Human, Immortal |
Gender | Male |
Affiliations | Connor MacLeod |
Weapons | Battle axe |
Status | Deceased (1815) |
Killed by | Connor MacLeod |
First appearance | Highlander script |
Mulet was an Immortal referred in Highlander's first-draft screenplay. Since Mulet was never mentioned in the movie's novel either, he isn't considered by most to be part of Highlander's canon universe, although his appearance doesn't contradict the canonical events of the universe. In 1815, during the Napoleonic Wars, Connor MacLeod was in the French infantry under the alias of Major Dupont. He met a young Immortal named Mulet, who was part of a new regiment under his command. During one night, MacLeod offered to help teach him The Game, but the Immortal refused his help. They then begun to fight, with MacLeod drawing his cutlass, and Mulet his battle axe. MacLeod quickly cut off both of Mulet's arms, and took his head. He then dragged the corpse into a swamp to hide it there. Later, while MacLeod sat in a cathedral, the Kurgan (known in the script as "The Knight"), also dressed in uniform like MacLeod, sat down behind him. When MacLeod asked if he came to take his head, the Knight (Kurgan?) said there was nothing to worry about, since they were on holy ground. For the Knight, all that the Immortals had left was tradition. He spoke with Macleod about him killing Mulet, and how proud he was of him, saying they were very much alike. He, then left, promising to take MacLeod's head the next time they saw each other.
[edit] Osta Vasilek
Highlander character | |
|
|
---|---|
Race | Human, Immortal |
Gender | Male |
Status | Deceased (1985) |
Killed by | The Kurgan |
First appearance | 'Highlander' |
Movies | 1 |
Osta Vasilek was briefly mentioned in the first Highlander film. He one of six contenders in the 1985 New York Gathering, along with Iman Fasil, Sunda Kastagir, Yung Dol Kim, the Kurgan, and Connor MacLeod. Vasilek, however, never made it to New York, being beheaded by the Kurgan in New Jersey, two days before MacLeod's duel with Fasil. When the police found the body, they discovered that Vasilek had Polish nationality. However, it's uncertain if it was his original nationality, or even if his real name was, in fact, Osta Vasilek. In the episode "The Watchers" of Highlander: The Series, which operates on a different level of continuity from the early movies, it is mentioned in the Kurgan's Watcher database that he beheaded an Immortal named Stosch Basalok in 1985. Although it's widely believed that Basalok and Vasilek are the same person, there's no definite confirmation of this. The only other fact known about Basalok, is that he had previously encountered the Kurgan in 1525.
