List of Hawaii county seats

List of Hawaii county seats:

  1. Hawaii County - Hilo
  2. Honolulu County - Honolulu
  3. Kalawao County - See Note Below
  4. Kauai County - Lihue
  5. Maui County - Wailuku

Kalawao County is depicted as a separate county on some maps and as part of Maui County on others. Wailuku is considered its county seat. However, the state of Hawaii still considers it a separate county. Its origins are based on the original need to isolate those persons afflicted with Hansen's Disease (Leprosy), and dates back to the days of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
