List of Grim's supernatural items
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of Grim's supernatural items from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
[edit] Grim's items
[edit] Bookworm
The Bookworm is highly intelligent worm that has the ability to control people by connecting to their brain. In the episode Smarten Up Grim tried to use this on Billy, but he wouldn't let Grim use it on him. Instead, it ended up in Billy's cat, Milkshakes, and tried to teach Billy that way.
[edit] Cerberus whistle
The Cerberus whistle is a small whistle that Grim can use to call his giant, three-headed dog, Cerberus. In "Mandy Bites Dog", when Mandy tries to train Saliva to be tougher, Grim brags to Mandy about Cerebrus. Mandy already has the whistle, having acquired it from Billy during a board game (Monopoly), saying he thought it was the race car game piece, and uses it to call the giant dog. Grim changes his attitude about the dog when she does, since it has a habit of chewing on him. And it ate his dad. Mandy, of course, is able to train it instantly. It ends up marrying Mindy's dog, Little Delicious.
[edit] Cursed armor and Sword of the Black Knight
The cursed armor and sword of the Black Knight attach to a person and can't be removed until that person wins a contest. It becomes attached to the user when Grim summons a castle, then the drawbridge opens revealing a dragon that flies into the air, and then breaths fire onto the user, after that the armor is attached to the user. For some reason, the armor is yellow and black. In the episode Terror of the Black Knight, Billy received this armor when he needed a cool costume for a Renaissance fair.
[edit] Crystal Ball
Grim has a working crystal ball that can tell the future. In the episode Mandy the Merciless, Grim used it to show the future to Billy, Mandy and Irwin. In the future, Mandy has turned herself into a giant worm and conquered the world by controlling cinnamon (a parody of God Emperor of Dune).
[edit] Dora's Lunchbox
Appeared in the episode Pandora's Lunch Box, Dora's lunchbox is in fact Pandora's Box. Dora herself is also Pandora. She was cursed to walk the Earth for eternity, unable to open the box. Bitter because of the curse, she tried to trick others into opening it. She succeeded with Mandy, but Mandy sealed the box again, sucking Pandora within it while doing so. It's also a weapon in the game whenever you throw it, it will explode on the character or by accident on the wall.
[edit] Evil gloves
The evil gloves are a pair of metal gauntlets that, when worn, cause the wearers arms to break off. The arms then attack their former owner. it was used in Sickly Sweet when Billy was was apparently looking through Grim's pockets for chocolate, so Grim had to make the gloves beat up Billy for looking through his property.
[edit] Evil powder
Evil powder is a special spice made for the undead. It has a habit of attracting zombies and generically anything else that is dead when used. In the episode Brown Evil, Billy finds it when searching for salt in Grim's trunk. Billy mistook it for salt, and used it to make brownies. The brownies were horrible, but the spice made them taste good to Grim, who hid it in his head. The smell of the spice attracted an army of zombies, who eventually took the brownies from Grim's head and went back into their graves.
[edit] Grim's easy grow
A special fish feed made by Grim. Apparently, it can make a fish grow enormous when fed. Grim used it when he wanted to make Billy's abnormally small fish Lil' Porkchop grow, but he apparently put too much, because Lil' Porkchop was turned into a giant mutant. The antidote is scummy water from a bay where Billy's dad went fishing.
[edit] Magic zipper
The magic zipper can unzip any object that it is attached to. It usually remains connected to Grim's robe, but he took it off in the episode Zip your Fly. Billy and Mandy used the zipper on various objects. Billy used it to replace his arm with his cat Milkshake's head and vice-versa. Mandy used it to zip Irwin inside Sperg's stomach and remove Mindy's mouth. She eventually and accidentally unzipped her own head, switching it with a fly.
[edit] Mask of the beast
The Mask of the Beast is a cursed mask. Whoever wears it must acts nice, kind, and friendly, or they will be turned into a horrible monster. In the episode Sickly Sweet, Billy and Grim use the mask on Mandy to make her act nice. It has limited success, and Mandy eventually gives in to her evil nature when asked to smile, thus turning her into a monster and attacks Grim and Billy.
[edit] Psychic megaphone
The psychic megaphone is a megaphone that can destroy things when someone speaks into it. It looks like a simple horn with a mouth on it. Billy and Mandy were playing with it in the episode Keeper of the Reaper, destroying Billy's house. It may be a reference to the Weirding Module devices from the film adaptation of Dune.
[edit] Scythe
Grim's scythe, the traditional implement of the Grim Reaper, is somewhere between a prop and a character. He uses it for reaping, but it also serves as a combination magic wand and "Swiss Army Chainsaw". Grim uses spell books at times to create specific magical effects, but the scythe is usually involved in his magic and he often simply points it and wills whatever he wants to happen, which produces a blast from the Scythe and the desired result. It is also the main transport device for the characters, as Grim can use it to cut a hole in the fabric of reality which opens up into whatever time and place he wants to go. On occasions, Grim has to "charge the stupid scythe up" as seen in the episode Fear and Loathing in Endsville, when there was a battery display feature. Grim occasionally addresses the scythe as "Jody" and treats it as something of a pet, although it rarely displays any self-directed activity.
Other people can use the scythe, but it seldom goes well for them when they try (Mandy appears to be fairly adept with it). Grim seems to be fairly careless with it much of the time which, when the plot demands it, can cause trouble. In the episode "The Secret Snake Club vs. P.E." Sperg takes the scythe to increase the size of a snake, to which Grim responds "I stopped caring 5 episodes ago.". In the Christmas special Billy and Mandy Save Christmas, Grim is tricked into leaving his scythe with the villain and then locked in a basement with a monster. However, much like Superman and the Starship Enterprise, at any given time the scythe has the powers it needs - and doesn't have the powers it doesn't need - for plot purposes. A few minutes after almost being attacked by the monster because he doesn't have the scythe, Grim whistles for it and it immediately cuts a hole in the ceiling and flies to his hand.
Grim is very fond of his scythe most of the time, although occasionally he will do something like trade it for Rollerblades in an attempt to be popular. The scythe is an extremely powerful magical implement, but there are other artifacts in the GA universe which, while it's hard to compare directly, are at least as powerful (Eris's Golden Apple of Discord and Chaos).
[edit] Thromnambular
Thromnambular is an ancient being sealed away in a skull with jeweled eyes that only talks in rhymes. The skull grants wishes. Once nine are granted, Thromnambular is freed. It has a number on its head that shows how many wishes it has left. Thromnambular likes to twist the wishes into something evil or painful for the wisher, despite their intentions. When found by Billy, the skull made it way about the town, granting eight wishes along the way, until it ended up in Mandy's hands. She tried to sell it, but Grim wished away any trace of the events. Grim then makes a wish on the renewed skull to set them both free. Thromnambular twisted this wish, freeing himself by switching his head for Grim's and leaving Grim stuck as a wishing skull.
[edit] Underworld fairy tales book
This is a book filled with some of the most well-known fairy tales. When read, it takes those listening into itself, allowing them to act out the story. They must remain in the book until they finish the story. It can apparently be deadly if the stories are allowed to mix. In the episode Nursery Crimes, Grim read the story about the Hansel and Gretel to Billy and Mandy, until Billy walks into Pinochio who wants to eat his flesh to become a real boy.
[edit] Other items
In his trunk, Grim keeps a lot of supernatural items for an indeterminded reason. Billy, who has a propensity for digging into Grim's trunk, often finds many of them. They are, as their names suggest, considered as a joke, and aren't used as a plot device.
- An invisible pair of underwear - an invisible pair of underwear, as the name suggests, are a pair of invisible underwear, which seems to be a contradiction in and of itself.
- Billy VooDoo doll - Grim keeps a working voodoo doll of Billy in his trunk. Billy hurts himself when playing with it.
- Dark crystal - a shard of The Dark Crystal that somehow got into Grim's trunk
- Eye of Vecna - The Eye of Vecna is just one of several Dungeons & Dragons items that has found its way into Grim's trunk.
- Holy Grail - the Holy Grail from the legend of King Arthur found its way to Grim's trunk.
- Medusa's head - turns people into stone when looked at. Billy accidentally changes his mother into stone.
- Merlin's underwear - another set of the underwear that has found its way to Grim's trunk.
- Mojo balls - If touched will turn people evil and get raged, Only seen in the video game.
- Monkey's paw - the monkey's paw is just one of many items that Billy has tossed out of Grim's trunk. It is supposed to grant five wishes (one for each finger), but it has never been used.
- Ouija board - Grim has a ouija board in his trunk. It's purpose is fairly self-explanatory.
- Scroll of Magic Missile - it just one of several Dungeons & Dragons items that has found its way into Grim's trunk.
- Shrunken head - Grim keeps a shrunken head in his trunk, but just why he does isn't clear.
- Talking evil doll - yet another item that Grim keeps in his trunk for an undeterminded reason.
[edit] Belongs to Grim's Family
[edit] Aunt Kali's Secret Recipe
Grim's Aunt Kali's secret recipe is a recipe for the best cookies in the whole universe. Grim used it in Recipe for Disaster to create cookies that would win the Person Scout's award. In the end, everyone realised that the secret ingredients of the best cookies in the whole universe were various small underworld monsters, as well as bugs and other unsanitary things but they kept eating them; they were just that good.
[edit] Box of Chocolates
A box of enchanted chocolates made by Granny, they are apparently some of the best chocolates in existence. Used by Nigel Planter to win the heart of Herfeffine Pfefferfeffer, the prettiest witch at Toadblatts.
[edit] Granny's Old Recipe
Meant as an all-purpose cure, Grim used this recipe in the episode Billy's Growth Spurt to remove junk-food toxins from Billy. Toxins were removed in a form of a small parasite.
[edit] Heebee-Jeebee Juice
The Heebee-Jeebee juice is designed to counteract any ill-effects of Granny's old recipe.
[edit] Love Potion
A fairly self-explanatory potion, the love potion causes the person who drinks it to fall in love with the first person they see.
[edit] Primordial ooze
A gelatinous concoction made by Grim. It melts whom ever it touches. Billy used it to destroy Wiggy Jiggy Jed in the episode Dream Mutt.
[edit] Destroyed or Gone
[edit] The Bad Book
Appeared in the episode Big Trouble in Billy's Basement, the Bad Book is "The Official Illustrated Handbook of the Underworld" that "Mustn't be seen by eyes of the living". Billy can't resist and steals it. When he started reading it "Yog-Sawhaw"(Yog-Sothoth) possessed him. Yog-Sawhaw used Billy to summon himself from another dimension. Billy steals Grim's scythe and creates a portal to Yog-Sawhaw's dimension in his house. He almost succeeds, but Mandy pushes him (he swallowed The Bad Book) in the portal that he created. The portal spits Billy out shortly after, implying that even the Underworld can't deal with him. This is proved further when Billy says sadly "They didn't want me." However, in the episode, "The Love that Dare not Speak its Name", Billy's dad is seen reading this same book.
[edit] Phone of Cthulhu
The Phone of Cthulhu is a phone that can contact a dimension in which Cthulhu resides. It sucks the caller into that dimension, but doesn't take their shoes. According to Grim, shoes can't fit in the phone (because they are "way too big"), though people can. Using the phone also unleashes Cthulhu upon the world, converting people into monsters when they answer a call from his dimension. People who reside in his dimension also undergo a similar transformation. Cthulhu was trapped between dimensions by Mandy, who tricked him into answering a call from the Phone of Cthulhu. After he was sucked in, she disconnected the call, trapping him. But Grim destroyed it trapping Billy, Mandy, and Irwin in Cthulhu's world
[edit] Spider Egg
A green egg that was hidden in Grim's trunk, the Spider Egg is what created Jeff the Spider. Billy hatched it, causing Jeff to mistake Billy for his father, which Billy has hurt many times becuse he hates bugs.
[edit] Talking Gumball Machine
The talking gumball machine talks (it speaks numerous languages, including the Binary language of moisture vaporators and Klingon) and dispenses gum. Billy has Grim disable the former feature. If swallowed, the gum causes an unimaginably horrible rash from another dimension. When Billy consumed at least two loads of gum the size of his head, he started producing bubbles from every orifice. After eating the machine itself, Billy expelled all the gum, apparently coating the entire world in sticky pink pre-chewed gum, and then he experienced the unimaginably horrible rash from another dimension. Its voice accent is similar to William Shatner.
[edit] Universal Remote Control
Grim's universal remote control can control the space-time continuum. It looks like an usual remote controller. In the episode Test of Time, Grim gave it to Billy to help him study for a test. After Grim gives it to Billy, he and Mandy travel time until accidentally breaking it, causing Billy to reset time from the age of early man. In this version of history, Billy's genes are dominant in most, if not all of humanity, and, apparently, every living thing on Earth possessed a bit of Billy's genetic makeup as well (in simple terms: every living thing had Billy's large nose and became incredibly stupid)This could also mean a reference to Click.
[edit] Legend of the Chupacabra Video
The Legend of the Chupacabra video is a cursed VHS tape that summons a Chupacabra, similar to the horror film Ring. In the episode Aren't You Chupacabra To See Me?, Billy was watching this video, and the chupacabra emerged from the screen. He kept it as a pet and named it Daisy. But later Billy returned Daisy to the tape and Grim returned the tape to the store.
[edit] Talking Burrito
Grim made a talking Burrito to stop Billy bothering him in Complete and Utter Chaos. Throughout the episode billy refers to Eris' apple as a banana, being ignorant of it's actual nature, and the burrito, having been granted congnizance, agrees with him. Billy probably ate it.
[edit] Items used in the TV Movie
Supernatural items used in Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure
[edit] Horror's Hand
A clawed glove with an eye in the middle of it, it is the left hand of Horror the Ancient, who channeled all of his fear into the hand and then cut it off to make himself totally brave (but it didnt work), it is said to be the most terrifying object in the universe, when someone finds it, the hand will bring to life their worst fear, and if they are able to overcome it, they are able to use the virtually limitless and godlike powers of the hand and become the most powerful and terrifying being in the universe. Boogey wanted this item so that kids would fear him again, Grim wanted to use it to get his job as the Grim Reaper back, Mandy wanted to use it to rule the universe, Irwin wanted to use it to get Mandy, and Billy wanted to use it to by a candy bar. It can only be used by someone who can defeat Horror in battle and face their worst fears. Grim was able to use it because, according to him, he's already living his worst nightmare; being Billy and Mandy's friend forever. After finding it, Grim locked it away in his trunk so no one could ever use its powers again, even though Mandy commented that Grim's trunk has been broken into many times.
This item is the main center point in the movie. It's also present in the Grim Adventures video game; Boogey uses it as part of his Mojo Meltdown move. Parody of Infinity Gauntlet.
[edit] The Gatekeeper's Magic Eye
A purple crystal ball that was connected to the eye of one of the Gatekeeper cyclopses, it allows who ever looks into the crystal ball to see whatever the eye sees, Boogie and his crew used it to keep tabs on Billy and Mandy when they were captured by the Gatekeepers, the eye was eaten by Billy, and later, when Boogie and his crew were able to use it again, Boogie remarked as to how this was possible, seeing as how the eye was eaten, and Creeper mearly said that Boogie shouldnt think about it too hard.
