[edit] Sylvester Garrigan

Garrigan is the notorious crime boss in Carrigstown. When he first arrived, he took over the deceased Billy Meehan's

criminal position and started a friendship with Carol Meehan. Anthony Farrell, Carol's boyfriend and Garrigan's solicitor,

suspected that they were infatuated with each other. Carol, disgusted by this allegation, dumped Farrell. The crime boss

revealed to Carol that he was illiterate and had an estranged daughter. Carol helped Garrigan in efforts to reconcile with

his daughter, but he ended up losing her again when she learnt of his criminal position.

When Mick O'Shea killed a gang member on Garrigan's orders, the gang kidnapped Ali, Mick's niece, and threatened to kill her

if he didn't assassinate Garrigan. Lorcan, Carol's son, who was in a relationship with Ali, was horrified but was eventually

persuaded to help with the assassination attempt. Carol and Garrigan were in a car when Lorcan appeared on a motorbike with

the shooter. As the shooter was about to pull the trigger, Lorcan realised his mother was in the car and rode off. The

shooter's aim was put off and the shot wounded Garrigan. However, he survived the attack and ordered Farrell to find those

responsible.

The Ukrainians were furious that Mick goofed up but, realising that Garrigan would have all his goons on their trail, they

released Ali and fled the country. After recovering in hospital, Garrigan discovered that Mick was behind the assassination

attempt and forced Mick to amputate one of his own fingers as punishment for double-crossing him. Carol, in an attempt to

protect her son from Garrigan's wrath, offered herself to him. Garrigan accepted and told her that Lorcan was safe.

Later an undercover agent, Rory, infiltrated Garrigan's gang and manipulated Carol into giving him information, by having a

sexual relationship with her. Armed with this info, the Gardaí raided one of Garrigan's booze runs. They also found drugs

which Lorcan was piggybacking on the booze run. Meanwhile Lorcan discovered that Rory was passing information to the police

but thought he was a police tout and not a Garda himself. Garrigan was furious that Lorcan implicated him in drugdealing

and, in a neat twist to punish Lorcan, he ordered Lorcan to kill Rory.

As the two men confronted each other, Lorcan fired the first shot, but Rory struck back with another, wounding Lorcan in the

process. Rory survived his ordeal, but Lorcan's days were numbered. Lorcan made a complete deathbed confession to the Gardaí

before he died in hospital. Garrigan decided to leave Carrigstown for the time being, but Detective Sergeant Byrne arrested

him and took him to a Garda Station for questioning.

[edit] Carol Meehan

The main female antagonist on the show. Carol owns The Galley and "Carol's Club" and has a taste for excitement and the

company of crime bosses. Previously engaged to Billy Meehan, who was unfaithful. Carol found out on her wedding day, vowed

vengeance and teamed up with Leo Dowling. When Lorcan killed Billy, Leo told Carol to pretend to befriend Tracy again. Carol

reluctantly agreed. Whether she is still pretending to this day remains to be seen.

Leo confronted Billy in a showdown and left him for dead, but the crime boss was still alive and attacked Carol. A

infuriated Lorcan appeared and killed Billy with a golf club. With Billy dead, Carol immediately went into action, tricking

Leo into believing that he killed him and using Leo to bury Billy's body on the outskirts of Carrigstown. Carol managed to

convince both Leo and Lorcan to keep Billy's death a secret. Carol, not wanting to be associated with Billy's criminal

empire, put Mick O'Shea in charge of "Carol's Club". On Christmas Day, Leo's conscience got the better of him and he found

himself at Billy's burial site. Carol was able to keep Leo under control, but months later, the Gardaí came across Billy's

body when a dog dug it up.

Detective Byrne and Sergeant Deegan tried to solve the murder of Billy Meehan. Although Deegan suspected that Leo was behind

it, Byrne sensed that Carol was involved. They soon discovered that Carol had been lying about receiving phone calls from

Billy, but the innocent Leo ended up in court for the first trial of Billy Meehan's murder. Before the trial took place, Leo

realised that he couldn't have killed Billy, but by then it was too late, as Carol feigned ignorance of what really

happened. Leo was wrongfully convicted for murder. When Pascal was taken to hospital, he urged Lorcan to tell the truth.

Lorcan went to the Gardaí and confessed everything. A few months later, Leo was released from prison. The second trial found

Lorcan not guilty. Carol began a relationship with Shay, but he was too boring for her and she broke up with him. Carol took

control of Billy Meehan's criminal empire and soon found herself wanting to be with another crime boss. She was given that

chance when Sylvester Garrigan arrived in Carrigstown to take over Billy's criminal position.

[edit] Lorcan Foley

Fostered by Kay and Malachy, it wasn't long before he went off the rails. He amused himself by breaking cars and taking part

in joyrides. When his true mother, Carol, showed up as a drunken woman, Lorcan soon developed a close friendship with her.

He killed Billy Meehan.

Struggling to keep his crime a secret, Lorcan confided in his friend Pascal. Lorcan joined the Irish Army as a result. The

first trial of Billy Meehan's murder found the innocent Leo being wrongfully convicted for murder. When Pascal was taken to

hospital, he urged Lorcan to tell the truth. Lorcan went to the Gardaí and confessed everything. A few months later, Leo was

released from prison. The second trial found Lorcan not guilty and he quit the Irish Army. Realising that his mother was now

in control of Billy's criminal empire, Lorcan saw his chance to become rich and Carol happily gave him the job of manager in

The Gallery. Mick O'Shea was furious about this, as he was now taking orders from a teenager.

When Kwame started selling drugs in The Gallery, Lorcan was escatic. Believing that he could give his new girlfriend Ali

everything that she wanted if he was rich, Lorcan allowed Kwame to sell drugs in exchange for half the profits.

When Mick O'Shea planned the killing of Alex, a gang member, he used his niece Ali as bait. Her job was to distract Alex

long enough for Mick's henchmen to arrive and terminate him. Unfortunately for Ali, she was forced to have sex with Alex to

keep him in The Galley. When Lorcan found out about this, he slapped Ali and told Farrell to get rid of Mick. Mick

reluctantly decided to leave Carrigstown, but he promised Ali that he would be there at her wedding. Lorcan forgave Ali and

they both made preparations for their wedding. On Lorcan and Ali's wedding day, it became apparent that Kwame had been

arrested by the Gardaí. Mick agreed to take the drugs, provided that Lorcan never orders him around again. Lorcan

reluctantly agreed and the wedding went ahead.

It wasn't long before Lorcan was caught up in another terrifying scenario. The killing of Alex came back to haunt Lorcan.

[edit] Ali O'Shea

Ali is the niece of Mick and the widow of Lorcan. Believing that he could give his new girlfriend Ali everything that she

wanted if he was rich, Lorcan allowed Kwame to sell drugs in exchange for half the profits. On Lorcan and Ali's wedding day,

it became apparent that Kwame had been arrested by the Gardaí.

After Lorcan's death, Ali told Carol that she was pregnant with Lorcan's child.

[edit] Gabriel Udenze

Gabriel was originally from Nigeria but had been living in London. He decided to move to Ireland to make a new start for his

family, as he was worried his son, Joshua, would become involved in gangs there. At first things went well and they took

over the lease of the Bazaar from Bela. It wasn't long though before things went terribly wrong. Joshua, was intimidated by

two racists, Pete Flanagan and Morgan Dalton, who were determined to make life a misery for Gabriel's family. Joshua was

constantly being bullied by Pete and Morgan and soon they decided to take matters further. On night finding Joshua alone on

the street they threw him onto the ground and sprayed urine on top of him. Joshua was forced to clean their shoes and say

that he was nothing. After this humiliation, Joshua decided to fight back literally. He saw Pete's car outside McCoys and

ran a key along the paintwork. Pete and Morgan then set the Udenze's van on fire in retaliation, but that wasn't enough for

them. They threw lighted papers into the Undenze's new house, not realising that Gabriel was asleep inside having just

varnished the floors. The house went up like a firecracker. Gabriel died of smoke inhalation as Pete and Morgan laughed.

They were soon arrested though and are now in prison, but Nina Udenze, Gabriel's wife, had enough of life in Ireland, and

returned to England. (She has since returned to Carrigstown for the trial of Gabriel's killers. It has not been revealed yet

if she will be staying on, or returning to England after the trial.) However, Joshua still runs the Bazaar and is determined

to see his father's dream of a future in Ireland through to the bitter end.

[edit] Dominic Kavanagh

Dominic is Kylie's father and is in a relationship with Tracy McGuigan. After his wife left him, Dominic became very

domineering over his daughter. One night when Kylie went out with Mondo, Dominic beat her up for coming home late. When he

framed Mondo for the assault, Dominic forced Kylie to tell the Gardaí that Mondo raped her. Mondo was arrested, but he was

later released and Kylie found herself trapped in Dominic's house. Mondo went over to the house and confronted Dominic. As

Dominic prepared to attack Mondo, Kylie warned her father that the Gardaí were coming. A furious Dominic tried to stop Kylie

and Mondo running away, but the two teenagers managed to escape. Kylie dropped the charges and moved into a flat.

When Tracy began a relationship with Dominic, she was horrified to discover that Dominic beat up his daughter. Dominic, in

turn, was shocked to learn that Tracy was once a prostitute. Dominic came by this information when Pete Flanagan left an old

newspaper in his letterbox. Tracey discovered Dominic's deception when his daughter Kylie told her the terrible truth.

Despite these revelations, Dominic and Tracey are now living together in a relationship. Tracy helped Dominic to reconcile

with his daughter, who has foolishly forgiven him for abusing her. It seemed that Dominic had changed his ways, but he

angrily told Pete to stay away from his family, so he is still very domineering.

Kylie's ordeal has caused Dominic to return to his old ways of dealing with his frustrations. When Kylie was walking down

an alleyway at night, she was attacked and raped. Dominic was determined to bring the rapist to justice. When Barry O'Hanlon

published an article on the rape in the local newspaper, Dominic informed him that his daughter was the girl who was raped.

Ken Fahey, having read the article, realised that he was in the same area where the attack took place. Ken apologized to

Kylie for not being there to protect her, but Dominic believed that this was an admission of guilt and confronted Ken. When

Ken refused to reveal the source of his information, Dominic thought that waiting for the Gardaí to catch the rapist is not

something he enjoys, so he decided to take matters into his own hands again. When Ken was attempting to return a mobile

phone to a girl in an alleyway, the girl thought that he was going to attack her and ran away. Dominic wrongly assumed that

Ken was the rapist and beat him up. With Ken unconscious, Dominic made an anonymous call to the Gardaí and told them that

the rapist is in the alleyway. As Dominic arrived home, he told a horrified Tracy that justice has been done.

Although Tracy was initially horrified by this, Dominic manipulated her into believing that Ken was the rapist. After

waking up in hospital, Ken couldn't remember who attacked him. When the Gardaí talked to Ken, they realised that there was a

rapist and a vilganite on the loose. When Terry was attacked by the rapist, Tracy told Dominic that Ken was in Rainbows Bar

at the time of the assault, so he couldn't be the rapist. Although Dominic was shocked by this, he shrugged it off,

maintaining that Ken was not seriously injured after he beat him up. Tracey, Dominic and Kylie went on holiday for a

weekend, but Dominic was still obsessed with hunting down the rapist. When Jo Fahey was intimidated by a homeless man, the

people believed that he was the rapist. Dominic suspected that the rapist was still out there. His fears proved true when

the Gardaí found evidence proving that the man couldn't be the rapist.

On Christmas Day, Dominic went out on patrol to hunt down the rapist. An infuriated Tracy tried to search him, but she was

attacked by the rapist. Dominic, having heard Tracy's screams, appeared on the scene and saved Tracy from the rapist's

clutches. An angry Dominic beat up the rapist and removed his balcavolea. The identity of the rapist was revealed to be

Tibbs, much to Dominic and Tracy's surprise. Detective Byrne questioned Dominic about the injuries that Tibbs sustained.

Dominic claimed that his actions were in self-defence. Dominic revealed to Kylie that he was the person who beat up Ken.

Tracy subsequently persuaded Dominic to tell Ken the truth. Although Ken threatened to contact the Gardaí, Dominic

manipulated him into believing that he was sorry for attacking him. Consequently, Ken decided not to report him or mention

that his daughter was raped to avoid upsetting her.

[edit] Seamus McAleer

McAleer is the President of a multinational construction company. He is Lauren's father and doesn't tolerate anyone who

treats her badly (her fiance William for example). He mentioned that Lauren was a somewhat spoilt kid during her childhood,

but this was due to the fact that Lauren's mother had died at that time and she would always swing her beautiful hair. He

believes that Lauren can sometimes be naive. When Lauren dated Mondo, McAleer gave him a job on condition that he stop

dating his daughter. Mondo reluctantly agreed and told Lauren the relationship was over, breaking Lauren's heart in the

process. When Mondo unwittingly witnessed a murder, he was forced to flee the country, as a hit man had been ordered to kill

him. McAleer, realising that Lauren was worried about Mondo, helped him escape to the airport just in time. McAleer began a

relationship with Orla Kirwan, while Lauren found a new love, William Russell.

William was Lauren's boyfriend, but that didn't stop him from having sexual relationships with Orla Kirwan and June

Pearson. June soon discovered that William was a cheat and dumped him. William continued his relationship with Orla, who

knew that Lauren was engaged to William. When Lauren became pregnant, William convinced her to have an abortion. Lying that

they were going on a holiday, they went to England for the procedure. At this time, Orla was becoming more like a spoilt

child, when she maxed out McAleer's credit card to buy clothes. McAleer's maid, Angela, found out about the affair and told

McAleer.

McAleer wasn't convinced but sent his gofor, Brian Byrne, to meet William and claim he had photos of his affair with Orla.

Panicked, William agreed to pay off Brian and this confirmed McAleer's suspicions. Furious that William and Orla were at it

behind Lauren's back, McAleer ordered his henchmen to teach William a lesson he would never forget. As William waited in an

underground carpark with the bribe for Brian, McAleer arrived with his henchmen and gave William a terrible beating. In an

ironic twist McAleer picked William's money off the ground and used it to pay off the henchmen for beating him! William

barely made it out of there alive and decided to flee Carrigstown for a solicitor's job in Naas. Orla tried to romance

McAleer so that she could stay in a relationship with him, but McAleer threw her out and Orla decided to move in with her

cousin Niamh.

[edit] Kylie Kavanagh

Kylie is Dominic's daughter. When his wife left him, Dominic became very domineering over Kylie. One night when Kylie went

out with Mondo, Dominic beat her up for coming home late. When he framed Mondo for the assault, Dominic forced Kylie to tell

the Gardaí that Mondo raped her. Mondo was arrested, but he was later released and Kylie found herself trapped in Dominic's

house. Mondo went over to the house and confronted Dominic. As Dominic prepared to attack Mondo, Kylie warned her father

that the Gardaí were coming. A furious Dominic tried to stop Kylie and Mondo running away, but the two teenagers managed to

escape.

Tracey discovered Dominic's deception when Kylie told her the terrible truth. Despite these

revelations, Dominic and Tracey are now living together in a relationship. Tracy helped Dominic to reconcile with his

daughter, who has foolishly forgiven him for abusing her. It seemed that Dominic had changed his ways, but he angrily told

Pete to stay away from his family, so he is still very domineering.

Kylie's ordeal has caused Dominic to return to his old ways of dealing with his frustrations. One night, when her boyfriend

Slim left McCoys with another girl, Kylie headed off in the persuit of them and decided to take a shortcut through an

alleyway. This proved to be Kylie's undoing when she was attacked and raped there. When Tracy visted Kylie in her flat, she

told her what had happened the night before. Terrified of being alone in her flat, Kylie temporarily moved in with Dominic

and Tracy. With the help of Tracy, Kylie reported the rape to the Gardai. Fearing that the police would suspect him, the former prisoner Patrick asked Tibbs to be his alibi, as he was alone on the night Kylie was raped. Tibbs subseqently agreed. Ironically, it was eventually revealed that Tibbs was, in fact, the rapist, but Gardai seemingly have no interest in

questioning Patrick about this.

Dominic was determined to bring the rapist to justice. When Barry O'Hanlon published an article on the rape in the local

newspaper, Dominic informed him that his daughter was the girl who was raped. Ken Fahey, having read the article, realised

that he was in the same area where the attack took place. Ken apologized to Kylie for not being there to protect her, but

Dominic believed that this was an admission of guilt and confronted Ken. When Ken refused to reveal the source of his

information, Dominic thought that waiting for the Gardaí to catch the rapist is not something he enjoys, so he decided to

take matters into his own hands again. When Ken was attempting to return a mobile phone to a girl in an alleyway, the girl

thought that he was going to attack her and ran away. Dominic wrongly assumed that Ken was the rapist and beat him up. With

Ken unconscious, Dominic made an anonymous call to the Gardaí and told them that the rapist is in the alleyway. As Dominic

arrived home, he told a horrified Tracy that justice has been done.

Kylie was certain that her rapist had finally been caught and tried to socialise

with Slim and Tibbs, but she felt unsafe and subsequently went home. Dominic suspected that the rapist was still out there,

but Tracy was unconvinced. His fears proved to be true when the Gardai found evidence proving that the man couldn't be the

rapist.

On Christmas Day, Dominic went out on patrol to hunt down the rapist. An infuriated Tracy tried to search him, but she was

attacked by the rapist. Dominic, having heard Tracy's screams, appeared on the scene and saved Tracy from the rapist's

clutches. An angry Dominic beat up the rapist and unmasked him, revealing his identity to be Tibbs. Kylie was horrified to

discover that Slim's friend Tibbs was the rapist and subsequently broke up with her boyfriend, explaining that she couldn't

trust anyone who behaves like a junevile delinquent and hangs around with notorious criminals. Detective Byrne questioned

Dominic about the injuries that Tibbs sustained. Dominic claimed that his actions were in selfdefence. Dominic revealed to

Kylie that he was the person who beat up Ken. Tracy subsequently persuaded Dominic to tell Ken the truth. Although Ken

threatened to contact the Gardai, Dominic manipulated him into believing that he was sorry for attacking him. Consequently,

Ken decided not to report him or mention that his daughter was raped to avoid upsetting her.

When Dominic informed Kylie that Tibbs was pleading guilty to her rape, she decided to get back to work. While in The

Galley, Kylie met Kev and became infatuated with him. She told him about the rape and is now in a relationship with him, but

Kev has other ideas.

[edit] Billy Meehan

Billy Meehan, an antagonist, was Carol's boyfriend when he made his presence known in Carrigstown. He soon established

himself as one of Dublin's most notorious crime bosses. When Leo Dowling was setting up his taxi firm, Billy became his

business partner. This proved to be Leo's undoing when he discovered that Billy was using his taxis to transport prostitutes

to their clients. When Leo's wife Pauline suggested contacting the Gardaí, Billy threatened to add her to his collection of

victims if she dared to interfere with his plans. Unbeknownest to most of the protagonists, Billy now had Carrigstown

completely under his control.

Billy was engaged to Carol when he hit her, causing her to lose their baby. Billy manipulated Carol, so the engagement

continued. Billy Meehan was a sexual relationship with Tracy while he was engaged with Carol. When Carol found out on her

wedding day, she vowed vengeance and teamed up with Leo Dowling. When Pauline fled the country to avoid Billy's wrath, Leo

contacted the Gardaí and told them everything. Leo showed them documents detailing the criminals and prostitutes, who were

now driving his taxis. When Lorcan killed Billy, Leo told Carol to pretend to befriend Tracy again. Carol reluctantly

agreed. Whether she is still pretending to this day remains to be seen. When Leo confronted Billy in a showdown, he left him

for dead, but the crime boss was still alive and attacked Carol. It seemed that all hope for Carrigstown was lost, but an

infuriated Lorcan appeared and killed Billy with a golf club, ending the crime boss' reign of terror and freeing Carrigstown

of his control at last.

[edit] Barry O'Hanlon

Barry is the editor for the local newspaper, The Northside Post. He usually interviews people and publishes articles on top

stories. When he first appeared in Carrigstown, he was a school teacher. Niamh Cassidy, a student in his class, was

infatuated with him and they had a passionate clinch. When Niamh lied that Barry seduced her, he nearly lost his job, but

she eventually told the truth. Later on, Niamh and Barry got engaged. Derek kidnapped her and Barry recesued her, but as the

wedding day was approaching, Niamh started to have second thoughts and she realised that she was in love with Paul Brennan,

who was Barry's best friend. The wedding was called off, but Niamh initially decided to stay in a relationship with Barry,

but she then broke up with him in public and continued her affair with Paul.

When Barry found out that Niamh had been twotiming him with his best friend, he began a downward spiral and spent Christmas

at home drinking and feeling depressed. Niamh and Paul was shocked to see a depressed Barry arrive at their house. After

this confrontation, Barry decided to get on with his life, so he returned to his job of teacher and he soon became

Principal. Barry began another relationship, this time with Sorcha Byrne. Unfortunately for him, he was twotimed once again.

Sorcha had an affair with Josh, a Leaving Cert repeat student. This revelation proved too much for Barry, as he once again

was overcome by depression. He lost his principal status and was committed to a mental institution. Barry talked about his

problems and he eventually recovered from his illness. He returned to Carrigstown and became a journalist.

When Barry published an article on the rape in the local newspaper, Dominic informed him that his daughter was the girl who

was raped. At this time, Detective Byrne began giving Barry information. Barry applied for the position of editor and was

given the job. Barry interviewed Dermot about the recent attacks. When the identity of the rapist was revealed to be Tibbs,

Detective Byrne told Barry about this. When Barry questioned Dominic about assaulting Tibbs, he shrugged it off. Byrne

explained that Tibbs was linked with the previous assaults, but he is certain that a viligante is still on the loose. Barry

suspects that Dominic is the vilgiante and is determined to prove this.

[edit] Paul Brennan

Paul is a shareholder in Jimmy Doyle's garage business. When Paul met Nicola Prendergast, he began a relationship with her,

but he soon became infatuated with Helen Doyle. The two of them had an affair. Nicola was shocked to find them in bed

together in her house. Consequently, Nicola slept with Donal to get even, but Paul forgave her and they got married. When

Nicola told Paul that she was pregnant, Paul said he was the father of Helen's child. Disgusted by this latest revelation,

Nicola threw Paul out and filed for a divorce. Helen died in a car accident, causing Nicola and Paul to rekindle their

friendship. Nicola and Paul's child was born. They set up a computer business, Blue Dolphin, with Donal Maher and Niamh

Cassidy as their associates.

Later on, Niamh and Barry got engaged, but as the wedding day was approaching, Niamh started to have second thoughts and she

realised that she was in love with Paul, who was Barry's best friend. The wedding was called off, but Niamh initially

decided to stay in a relationship with Barry, but she then broke up with him in public and continued her affair with Paul.

When Barry found out that Niamh had been twotiming him with his best friend, he began a downward spiral and spent Christmas

at home drinking and feeling depressed. Niamh and Paul was shocked to see a depressed Barry arrive at their house.

Nicola, disgusted by this, wanted Niamh out of their computer business, Blue Dolphin. When the company merged with

Industrial Illusions, their representative, Conor, wanted to downsize Blue Dolphin, getting rid of Niamh in the process. Donal obsigned and Niamh's job was saved. After Blue Dolphin ended its merger with Industrial Illusions, Nicola decided to

become freelance, while the others continued running Blue Dolphin. When Niamh found out that Nicola had a onenight stand with Paul, Nicola and Niamh became rivals. As the years went on, Niamh and Nicola ended their rivalry and soon became best

friends, when Niamh helped Nicola get through her ordeal of surviving breast cancer.

Paul kissed Jimmy's wife Robin, but he has now focused his attention on an affair with Fiona Pigott. Although they both know

that they are playing with fire, the two-timers have found themselves irresistable. When Robin asked Paul to go out with her

cousin, he decided to do so, as Fiona had called time on their affair. A furious Fiona became jealous of Paul's new

relationship with Robin's cousin and demanded that he end it immediately. After being lured into her flat, Paul found

himself unable to disagree and promptly dumped the cousin, after having a one-night stand with her. Although Keith Lehane

found out about the affair, Paul lied that it was finished and he has resumed his affair with Fiona.

Nicola Prendergast: Nicola was a business partner of Niamh's during her last years on Fair City. When Paul met
Nicola Prendergast, he began a relationship with her, but he soon became infatuated with Helen Doyle. The two of them had

an affair. Nicola was shocked to find them in bed together in her house. Consequently, Nicola slept with Donal to get

of Helen's child. Disgusted by this latest revelation, Nicola threw Paul out and filed for a divorce. Helen died in a car

accident, causing Nicola and Paul to rekindle their friendship. Nicola and Paul's child was born. They set up a computer

Donal obsigned and Niamh's job was saved. After Blue Dolphin ended its merger with Industrial Illusions, Nicola decided to

become freelance, while the others continued running Blue Dolphin. When Niamh found out that Nicola had a onenight stand
with Paul, Nicola and Niamh became rivals. As the years went on, Niamh and
Nicola ended their rivalry and soon became best friends, when Niamh helped Nicola get through her ordeal of surviving

breast

cancer.

When Nicola discovered that Donal was having an affair with her sister, Phillippa, she was horrified and threw them out. As

a result, working in Blue Dolphin proved to be impossible and the computer business was destroyed. Nicola befriended Niamh

and they soon set up their own computer business, Phoenix. Phillippa returned and begged Nicola to forgive her, as Donal
had twotimed her with a younger woman. Nicola eventually forgave her and decided to make a new start in Cork, so she left

Carrigstown.

[edit] Niamh Cassidy

Niamh is currently in a business partnership with her cousin Orla. When Niamh was still a student in secondary school, she

was infatuated with her teacher Barry and they had a passionate clinch. When Niamh lied that Barry seduced her, he nearly

lost his job, but she eventually told the truth. Later on, Niamh and Barry got engaged. Derek kidnapped her and Barry

recesued her, but as the wedding day was approaching, Niamh started to have second thoughts and she realised that she was in

at home drinking and feeling depressed. Niamh and Paul was shocked to see a depressed Barry arrive at their house. Nicola,

disgusted by this, wanted Niamh out of their computer business, Blue Dolphin. When the company merged with Industrial

Illusions, their representative, Conor, wanted to downsize Blue Dolphin, getting rid of Niamh in the process. Niamh,

knowning that Conor had bullied her, was horrified. Donal obsigned and Niamh's job was saved. After Blue Dolphin ended its

merger with Industrial Illusions, Nicola decided to become freelance, while the others continued running Blue Dolphin.

When Niamh found out that Nicola had a onenight stand with Paul, Nicola and Niamh became rivals. When Derek was released

from prison, he began a relationship with Niamh, who was on the rebound. He met his death when he was killed by a criminal

gang. As the years went on, Niamh and Nicola ended their rivalry and soon became best friends, when Niamh helped Nicola get

through her ordeal of surviving breast cancer. When Nicola was preparing to leave Carrigstown, she couldn't find the right

moment to tell her best friend. When Niamh found out, she was infuriated, but she bid Nicola farewell.

[edit] Dermot Fahey

Dermot is a politician and represents the constituency of Carrigstown. When he closed down a library, Jo protested and their

rivalry continued for many years. They eventually found themselves infatuated with each other and began a relationship. They

got married. Dermot led a campaign for the local elections, but Seamus Mannion was determined to win. When Mannion

discovered that Deirdre Burke had fled the country and left her child with Dermot and Jo, he used this information to

blackmail Dermot into standing down. Dermot and Jo don't know that Brendan is the father of Deirdre's child, but it's only a

matter of time before they find out.

[edit] Brendan Daly

Brendan is a doctor and is married to his wife Heather. When Brendan discovered that Heather had a relationship with her

halfbrother Floyd, he was shocked and had a onenight stand with Deirdre Burke, who is now the mother of his child. Heather

became pregnant and gave birth to their child. When Heather wrote a novel, The Good Sister, Brendan was shocked to discover

that it was based on her relationship with Floyd. This revelation proved too much for Brendan, when he started taking drugs.

He gave Leo Dowling the wrong medicine, which nearly caused his death. Brendan took off in his car to avoid the wrath of

Leo's wife Lana, but he crashed and was taken to hospital. Brendan and Heather finally put the Floyd saga behind them, but

the past came back to haunt Brendan when Deirdre returned for Christmas. Dermot and Jo, who were taking care of her child,

invited Brendan and Heather to Christmas dinner. Brendan made it through the day, but Heather still doesn't know that

Brendan is the father of Deirdre's child and it's only a matter of time before she finds out.

[edit] Jimmy Doyle

Jimmy is the main shareholder of the Molloy garage business. When he began a relationship with his childhood friend,

Lorraine Doyle, they got married, but on their honeymoon disaster striked. Lorraine met her death when a tornado killed her.

A year later, Jimmy came to terms with her death and began a relationship with the new female mechanic Robin. When his

fatherinlaw, Harry, committed suicide, Jimmy took control of the business, but he reluctantly sold a share to Paul Brennan.

When Jimmy married Robin, he realised that she had an eating disorder. Robin recovered from her condition, but Jimmy now

wanted her to have a baby. Robin eventually agreed with him, but it seems Robin feels that she is being bullied into

becoming pregnant by the manipulative Jimmy.

[edit] Dolores Molloy

Dolores is the widow of Harry. When she was married to him, Harry had an affair with her best friend, Shelly O'Connor.

Dolores and Harry got back together in the aftermath of Lorraine Doyle's death, but the damage had been done and Dolores

began an affair with Frank. This resulted in Dolores becoming pregnant with Frank's child. Although Harry suspected that he

wasn't the father, he allowed himself to be manipulated by Dolores. When Frank asked Dolores and Harry if the child was his,

Harry angrily told him the child was Harry's. Dolores' baby was born. She was named Jessica. When Josh was babysitting her,

he accidentally left drugs on the floor and Jessica swallowed them. Jessica was taken to hospital, but she died days later.

An angry Harry confronted Josh and hit him with a bar, killing him instantly. When Barry O'Hanlon became a suspect of

murdering Josh, Harry had no choice but to confess everything to protect his friend. Harry was arrested, but he was released

on bail. Dolores and Harry went to a hotel where Harry committed sucicide. Dolores, feeling lonely, found herself at The

Shelter and immediately befriended Cleo, a homeless young girl. The Udenzes became lodgers in The Molloy household. When

they took over the Bazaar from Bela Doyle, they left. Ursula, an old woman, became a new lodger, along with Cleo. Dolores

and Sergei, Lana's brother, started a friendship, which seemed to become a romance, but Dolores denied this. Dolores is now

living with Ursula and Cleo, and everyone in her house is happy for the time being.

[edit] Heather Daly

Heather is a writer and is married to her husband Brendan. When Heather made her first appearance in Carrigstown, it became

apparent that she was Renee Whelan's longlost daughter. Renee's husband, Christy, forgave her for keeping the adoption a

secret. Heather soon developed a close feathership with her true mother. Unfortunately for Heather, she had been having a

relationship with Renee's son, Floyd, prior to recent revelations. They eventually decided to end the relationship. Heather

left Carrigstown for a while. She returned as a married woman to a doctor, Brendan.

When Brendan discovered that Heather had a relationship with her halfbrother Floyd, he was shocked and had a onenight stand

with Deirdre Burke, who is now the mother of his child. Heather became pregnant and gave birth to their child. When Heather

wrote a novel, The Good Sister, Brendan was shocked to discover that it was based on her relationship with Floyd. This

revelation proved too much for Brendan, when he started taking drugs. He gave Leo Dowling the wrong medicine, which nearly

caused his death. Brendan took off in his car to avoid the wrath of Leo's wife Lana, but he crashed and was taken to

hospital. Brendan and Heather finally put the Floyd saga behind them, but the past came back to haunt Brendan when Deirdre

returned for Christmas. Dermot and Jo, who were taking care of her child, invited Brendan and Heather to Christmas dinner.

Brendan made it through the day, but Heather still doesn't know that Brendan is the father of Deirdre's child and it's only

a matter of time before she finds out.

Heather, meanwhile, was planning on writing a book about the world of prostitutes. When Fareed, the father of his son

Hanni, killed the mother and sister, Zoe rescued Hanni and is now fearing for her life. Heather spoke with Tracy and was

intrigued to learn about this. After visiting Zoe, Heather got caught up in the police investigation when Brendan was asked

about Hanni. Brendan reluctantly lied to protect Hanni. Disguising herself as a prostitute, Heather infiltrated a criminal

gang and got a buzz for revealing her body to clients. One night as Heather was leaving a nightclub, a gangland leader

confronted her. Realising that she was in too deep, Heather escaped from The Leader and ran home. Later on, The Leader

turned up in a restaurant and intimidiated Heather, reminding her of her prostitute status. Brendan found clothes in his

car, confirming his suspicions of Heather being a prostitute. Brendan has reluctantly accepted her new status as a means of

writing her book, but he warned Heather to be careful.

When Renee began an affair with Bob, Heather was the first person to find out about the infamous love triangle of Renee,

Bob and Christy. Although Heather was disgusted by Renee's actions, she decided not to say anything to Christy. Months

later, Christy's mother Eunice found out about the affair and told her son. Renee admitted that she no longer loved Christy

and that Bob was now her true lover. Christy, disappointed by this, telephoned the children and explained what had happened.

Heather admitted that she had known about the affair for months. She befriended Christy during the World Cup, by watching

the event on television with him. Heather is still disgusted that Renee is in a relationship with Bob, but she has decided

to be civil with him to avoid upsetting her mother.

[edit] Ken Fahey

Ken is Dermot's brother and Geraldine's exhusband. When he was married to Geraldine, they had a son, Eoin. Since Ken was

infatuated with other women, Geraldine eventually dumped him for good and began a relationship with Mike. Mike despises Ken,

as he constantly turns up to talk and has set up a restaurant, Fusion, to rival the Bistro.

When Barry O'Hanlon published an article on the rape in the local newspaper, Dominic informed him that his daughter was the

girl who was raped.

Ken, having read the article, realised that he was in the same area where the attack took place. Ken apologized to Kylie

for not being there to protect her, but Dominic believed that this was an admission of guilt and confronted Ken. When Ken

refused to reveal the source of his information, Dominic thought that waiting for the Gardaí to catch the rapist is not

something he enjoys, so he decided to take matters into his own hands again.

Ken woke up in hospital and told the Gardaí that he was inocient. The Gardaí realised that there was now a rapist and a

vigilante on the loose. Ken is the latest victim to fall at the hands of Dominic, who believed that Ken is the rapist. After

recovering in hospital, Ken suggested to Mike that he employ a chef named Maurice. When the identity of the rapist was

revealed to be Tibbs, Dominic admitted to Ken that he assaulted him. Although Ken threatened to contact the Gardai, Dominic

manipulated him into believing that he was sorry for attacking him. Consequently, Ken decided not to report him or mention

that his daughter was raped to avoid upsetting her.

When Deirdre Burke returned to Ireland, Ken was immediately infatuated with her. The two of them began a relationship, much

to the shock of Dermot and Jo Fahey. Although Dermot believed that the relationship would end after a while (Deirdre is only

in Ireland on a temporary basis due to her business), Jo ignored him and demanded that the couple split up. Ken, however,

revealed that he had bought a house for Deirdre, Eoin and himself. Deirdre's friend Orla spilled the beans about her

supposed child in Australia. Ken was shocked by this. Although Deirdre has been lying to Orla about having a child and a

boyfriend in Australia as a means of keeping Orla offtrack, her plan has backfired on her, resulting in Ken committing

himself to her. Ken has sworn to stand by Deirdre, but whether he learns the truth remains to be seen. When Geraldine

announced her engagement to Mike, Ken wished her happiness.

[edit] Tim Carney

Tim is Leo Dowling's childhood friend and business partner. He is married to a Russian lady named Olga. Their marriage was

arranged over the internet. Tim is very domineering over Olga. Leo's wife Lana suspected that Olga was unhappy. When Olga

and Sergei, Lana's brother, started a friendship, Tim became paranoid that they were having an affair. Sergei constantly

coming over to the house made Tim even more paranoid. Tim has warned Sergei off many times, and as a result Tim has gained a

catchphrase for himself. He can often be heard shouting "Stay away from my wife!" at various men, but most notably Sergei.

Sergei was worried about Olga and telephoned her several times, but Tim picked up the phone instead and Sergei hung up. Tim

installed a caller ID device on his phone to find out who is the anoyamous caller.

When Tim discovered that Sergei was making the anoyamous calls, he told Leo to warn Sergei to stay away. To prevent Sergei

from contacting Olga ever again, Tim disconnected the telephone line. When Tim's nephew Declan arrived in Carrigstown for

Christmas, Tim told him to accompany Olga whenever she left the house. Tim told a shocked Olga of his plans to buy another

house away from Carrigstown so Olga will be away from Sergei. When Declan left his mobile phone in a room, Olga used it to

call Lana for help. Although Lana and Sergei suspected that Olga was now a prisoner in her own home, Leo's main concern was

about his business, but he eventually decided to help them rescue her.

When Leo tricked Tim into going to McCoys, Lana went to see Olga. As Lana and Olga prepared to leave, Declan attempted to

stop them, but they pushed their way past him and escaped. When Tim returned to his house, Declan told him that he didn't

want to get involved with any disputes and subsequently left Carrigstown. Furious that Olga had left his house, Tim went

over to Leo's house and demanded to see Olga. When Leo refused, Tim spent the night in his car and got drunk. On Christmas

Day, Tim shouted at Leo to let him in. When the shouting continued for hours, Leo eventually had enough of Tim's yelling and

contacted the Gardaí. The police took a drunken Tim away. The next day, Leo was shocked to see the state of Tim and his

house. Tim revealed to Leo the origin of his marriage to Olga. When Tim promised that he wouldn't treat his wife badly ever

again, Olga felt sorry for her husband, so she decided to go back to his house, much to Tim's delight.

[edit] Tess Halpin

Tess was Damien's mother and Marty's husband. When she moved to Carrigstown, Laura, Mark and Damien accompanied her. Tess

had left England to escape the clutches of her abusive husband. Laura and Damien remembered the terrible times, but young

Mark could only remember the good times. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for Tess' family, but then Marty turned up

in Carrigstown. He explained that he was doing work there as part of his construction job. Marty eventually manipulated

Tess, Mark and Laura into believing that he had changed, but Damien remained suspicious. His fears proved to be true, when

Marty found himself arguing with Tess shortly after they remarried. Although Marty had been going to anger management

classes, he lost control of his temper and knocked Tess out. Horrified that he had killed her, a devastated Marty told

Damien that he was sorry and drove off in his car. The Gardaí chased after him, but he exited the car and jumped off a

bridge where he committed suicide.

[edit] Anthony Brady

Anthony is TJ's biologinal father. When Mags Kelly first met him on the streets of Carrigstown, he was a homeless man and an

alcoholic. Mags felt sorry for Anthony and gave him money to use for accommodation. At first, he wasted the money in McCoys,

but he eventually decided to give up the booze and begin a new chapter in his life. Although Mags' husband, Charlie, didn't

tolerate Anthony, he helped get a flat. When Terry and TJ returned to Carrigstown, it soon became apparent that Terry didn't

want Anthony hanging around the house. She revealed that he was an old friend of hers, but she was reluctant to say any more

details.

It transpired that Terry had an affair with Anthony 10 years ago just before TJ was born, so there was a chance that TJ

could be his son. Anthony soon discovered Terry's secret and was immediately overcome by happiness. Vowing to never drink

alcohol again, Anthony began presenting himself as the perfect partner for Terry. His wish to have a family of his own had

apparently come true, but Terry had other ideas. Terry told Charlie about the affair and convinced him that TJ is his

grandson. Charlie warned Anthony to stay away from Terry and TJ, but Anthony shrugged the warning off. Terry demanded that

Anthony leave Carrigstown, but Anthony refused to listen, maintaining that she and TJ will soon be his family.

When Mags returned from her holiday in Canada, Charlie decided not to mention Terry's secret to her. This proved to be his

undoing, as Mags invited Anthony to Christmas dinner. A frustrated Terry told Anthony to leave her and TJ alone, as he was

now following them everywhere. Terry eventually told Mags about her secret and tried to convince her that TJ is her

grandson, but Mags refused to be manipulated and suggested that a paternity test be done to determine who is TJ's bologincal

father.

Dr. Brendan arrived in the Kelly household and took DNA samples. The results of the paternity test proved that Anthony is

TJ's father. Mags and Charlie were devastated by this, but to hear this information from Anthony made them feel even worse.

On Christmas Day, Anthony thanked Mags and Charlie for their kindness towards him, but the couple accused him of being a

hyprocite. Anthony's only concern was about living with his new family, but Terry had no intention of letting this happen.

She and TJ subsequently left Carrigstown to escape from Anthony. Anthony, convinced that Charlie and Mags helped them

escape, demanded to given information on their whereabouts, but the couple knew nothing.

A few days later, Terry and TJ returned to Carrigstown. TJ learned that Anthony was his biologonical father. Anthony has

developed a relationship with his son, as evidenced when TJ enjoyed their trip to Funderland. Whether Anthony succeeds in

having a strong bond with TJ remains to be seen, but Terry has sworn that such a bond will never happen.

[edit] Malachy Costello

Malachy is the part-owner of the McCoys pub and is currently in a relationship with Sue. When he first arrived in

Carrigstown, he was a priest. Malachy was attracted to Kay, causing him to leave the priesthood. They got married. Fr.

Bertie warned Malachy to be careful, but he ignored him. Kay and Malachy fostered Lorcan Foley and helped him to turn away

from a life of crime for a while. When Lorcan's mother Carol showed up, he was eventually drawn into the criminal

underworld, resulting in his death years later. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for Malachy and Kay, but their first

truama nearly caused them to split up. When Kay became pregnant, she was shocked to discover that her unborn child would be

disabled. Convinced that bringing up a disabled child would be too stressful, Kay decided to have an abortion, despite

Malachy's protests. After the abortion took place, Malachy refused to talk to Kay for a while, but he eventually realised

the error of his ways and begged Kay to forgive him.

Kay forgave Malachy. Later on, Kay's nephew Stephen arrived in Carrigstown to escape the clutches of a cult. The leaders

demanded that Kay and Malachy hand him over, but they refused. Stephen told the leaders to leave. Angered that Stephen

betrayed them, the leaders dismissed him as an insignificant nothing and left McCoys. Stephen disappeared into obscurity and

his current whereabouts are now unknown. When Kay's old boyfriend, Danny Fitzgerald, turned up, he manipulated a series of

events in order to split Kay and Malachy up. Danny introduced Malachy to the world of gambling. Malachy found himself

getting a buzz from gambling and soon his addiction threatened to destroy his marriage. Danny's plan to win back Kay seemed

to be working, but he soon found himself on the run from an assassin. The assassin had been ordered by gangland leaders to

kill Danny, as he had stolen money from them. He was wounded by a gun shot, but he managed to make it to a hospital. Malachy

and Kay were in that hospital at the time. When Danny decided to leave the hospital, he was immediately assassinated,

putting an end to his plans to destroy the marriage of Kay and Malachy.

Not learning from Danny's mistake, Malachy stole money from gangland leaders to fund his gambling addiction. This proved to

be Malachy's undoing when the gangland leaders realised that their money was gone. Kay found out about Malachy's gambling

addiction. The leaders had enough of Malachy and destroyed the McCoys pub as punishment for doublecrossing them. Kay

eventually forgave Malachy. McCoys was reconstructed and Marty Whelan did the grand opening of it. Kay and Malachy employed

Stephen as a worker (he is another person named Stephen). As the months passed, Kay and Malachy found that they were bored

with each other. Malachy found himself attracted to Sue and they had a passionate kiss. Kay, in turn, was attracted to a

woman, making her a lesbian. Fr. Bertie's warning came back to haunt Malachy, as he realised that the priest was right all

along.

In the aftermath of Lorcan's death, Kay and Malachy tried to reconcile, but it soon became apparent that they were drifting

apart once again. When Kay found out that Malachy was attracted to Sue, she was furious, despite the fact that she was

attracted to a lesbian. Malachy bid Kay farewell as she left for Spain. Sue and Malachy began kissing in public, much to the

shock of the locals, despite the fact that the Kay and Malachy were unhappy in their marriage for some time. Sue's daughter

Beth was shocked to find them kissing in her house, but she wished them happiness shortly afterwards.

[edit] Mark Halpin

Mark is Damien's brother. When his mother Tess moved to Carrigstown, he accompanied her, along with Laura and Damien. Tess

had left England to escape the clutches of her abusive husband.

The Gardai chased after him, but he exited the car and jumped off a

bridge where he committed suicide.

In the aftermath of the two deaths, Damien and Laura decided not to tell Mark the truth about what happened. Mark soon

discovered that Marty murdered Tess and became infuriated with his family. Damien allowed Mark to work in the Molloy garage

business. It seemed that everything was going smoothly for Mark, but it soon became apparent that he was being intimidated

by two bullies named Tom and Doug. When Mark was walking down a street, the bullies stole his mobile phone and took note of

his number. Damien's friend Suzanne appeared on the scene, causing them to give the phone back to Mark. When Mark told

Suzanne that the bullies were only "messing" with him, she realised that he was being bullied and informed Damien about the

bullying.

When Mark left his mobile phone in a room, Damien looked at it and was shocked to see a message on it. The bullies had

texted Mark, claiming that he had a "gay haircut". Damien told Mark to stand up to the bullies, but Tom and Doug warned a

terrified Mark that no one can stop the culture of bullying. They ordered him to do their homework for one night, making

Mark's day a misery in the process. When Damien encouraged Mark to go to the local boxing club, he was intrigued by the

boxers and was interested in doing some boxing exercises, but he found himself doing homework for hours due to the bullies'

intervention.

Unfortunately, although Mark managed to finish Tom and Doug's homework, he was unable to finish his own, drawing him into

conflict with his teacher Sarah. Since he was sitting next to the bullies, a terrified Mark decided not to inform Sarah

about the bullying and Sarah berated him for not doing his homework. Determined to teach Tom and Doug a lesson they would

never forget, Mark began training at the boxing club to make himself stronger. Infuriated that the bullies set up a website

to ridicule him, Mark told Suzanne about the website and revealed that he had no friends. Suzanne subsequently informed

Damien about this. A worried Damien told Sarah about the bullying. The school principal, Kieran, warned Tom and Doug that he

doesn't tolerate bullying. The website was banned from the school computers and the bullies were given detention.

After finishing their detention, Tom and Doug confronted Mark and ridiculed him, claiming that he depends on his older

brother to fight his own battles. Infuriated by the bullies' ignorance, Mark decided to continue his boxing exercises and

use his newfound skills to ensure their demise. After learning the robes from his coach Gerry, Mark confronted Tom and Doug

outside McCoys at night. Angered that they were preparing to bully him again, Mark punched Doug in the nose, just as Suzanne

and Sarah approached the pub! Mark subsequently ran away. The next day, Kieran summoned Mark and Damien to his office.

Kieran warned an unfazed Mark that he doesn't tolerate violence. Tom delivered Doug's death threat to Mark.

Tom and Doug challenged Mark to a fight, declaring that they alone deserved the mantle of fighter in the school. With the

help of his new friend Adam, Mark forced them to retreat, destroying the culture of bullying in the process. The students

celebrated as peace returned to the school. However, scaring away Tom and Doug proved to be too intoxicating for Mark. A

triumphant Mark quit his boxing exercises and began picking fights at every opportunity to demonstrate his authority. He

knocked out a lad for kissing a girl that he fancied and he has engaged in "friendly" fights with Adam. The students were

shocked to see the two "friends" fighting each other, but they dismissed the fight as a fun hobby.

After challenging a gang of older brothers, an overpowered Mark employed a different tact, establishing his own fight club

and choosing students his own age to fight with in a dip at school. When Kieran and Sarah became suspicious of fights being

held at school, they sent letters to parents and guardians, warning them about the fights. With the teachers on patrol, Mark

decided that the fights would be held at night instead of during school hours. When Mark defeated Vinny in a fight, he chose

Gina's son Sean as his next opponent. Sean's friend Pat tried to persuade him to back out, but Sean refused to listen,

maintaining that he would be able to avoid Mark's attacks.

Convinced that his friend was making a terrible mistake, Pat told Sarah and Kieran about the arranged fight. As night fell,

Mark and Sean fought each other, but tragedy stroke when Mark accidentally knocked Sean unconscious. Fearing that Sean was

dead, Mark and the club members ran away as Sarah and Kieran arrived at the dip. Sarah saw Mark in the distance and

recognized him. As the unconscious Sean was taken to hospital, a horrified Gina heard about the fight from Sarah and Kieran.

Thinking that Sean had died, Mark decided to lay low for a few days to avoid being arrested by the Gardai for murder.

[edit] Sholeh Tenniz

Sholeh is Zoe's sister and is currently engaged to Ramal. When Zoe informed Sholeh that Fareed had murdered Hanni's mother

and the other sister, she arrived in Carrigstown to help her. While Zoe left Ireland, Sholeh minded Hanni. Zoe's family

helped her. Ramal began a relationship with Sholeh, but Fareed had no intention of letting Hanni go. In England, Fareed

recruited Karim in his scheme to kidnap Hanni. Karim discovered Hanni's whereabouts and hired a henchman named Abdul to

capture him. Disguised as Santa Claus, Abdul attempted to grab Hanni and escape in Karim's car, but Ramal turned up in his

car and stopped the criminals in their tracks. Karim escaped while Abdul was taken to a Garda Station for questioning. Later

on, Fareed was arrested by the British police. Sholeh tricked Karim into believing that she wanted him to take Hanni. When

Karim arrived to take him, the Gardaí arrested him. Charges were brought against Fareed's parents. Ramal and Sholeh became

engaged.

[edit] Keith Lehane

Keith is a member of the Carrigstown football team and an employee at the Molloy garage business. When Jimmy introduced

Keith to Niamh, she disliked him at first but soon found herself attracted to him. Unfortunately, Keith gave up on his

chance to have a relationship with her and began one with Una. Although he seems to like her, his true affections are for

Niamh. When Niamh's boyfriend Sean McNab met Keith, he was intrigued by him. It transpired that McNab was a bisexual and

attracted to Keith. Horrified by McNab's thoughts, Keith told him to stay away, maintaining that he is straight. When McNab

started to follow Keith everywhere, a terrified Keith told Niamh the disturbing truth, but Niamh refused to believe it and

slapped him.

[edit] Sarah O'Leary

Sarah is Suzanne's friend and is currently a teacher in secondary school. When Suzanne first introduced Sarah to her family,

she spent nights partying and was intrigued to learn that Suzanne was having an affair with her college lecturer. When

Suzanne dumped him for cheating her, Sarah stepped him and became his new mistress. After graduating from college, Sarah

broke up with the lecturer and became a teacher. When she met Roy, she was immediately infatuated with him. Lying that he

was writing a book about drugs in nightclubs, Rory began a relationship with her as a means of fooling Sylvester Garrigan

into believing that he had no other family.

Rory actually had a wife and a daughter from a previous marriage. Suzanne found out about this while taking Oisin to a

bowling alley. A furious Sarah confronted Rory about this, but he manipulated her into forgetting about it. Sarah's father

warned her that Garrigan is a notorious crime boss. When Rory began an affair with Carol Meehan to get information, he

completely ignored Sarah. A frustrated Sarah eventually had suspicions of Rory having an affair when she saw him enter

Carol's house at night. Rory, of course, denied that he had an affair with Carol, and Sarah seemingly believed him.

When Mark Halpin was being intimidated by two bullies named Tom and Doug, a terrified Mark was forced to do their homework

for one day. Unfortunately, although Mark managed to finish Tom and Doug's homework, he was unable to finish his own,

drawing him into conflict with his teacher Sarah. Since he was sitting next to the bullies, a terrified Mark decided not to

inform Sarah about the bullying and Sarah berated him for not doing his homework. A worried Damien told Sarah about the

bullying. The school principal, Kieran, warned Tom and Doug that he doesn't tolerate bullying. The website was banned from

the school computers and the bullies were given detention.

After learning the robes from his coach Gerry, Mark confronted Tom and Doug outside McCoys at night. Angered that they were

preparing to bully him again, Mark punched Doug in the nose, just as Suzanne and Sarah approached the pub! When Mark

established his own fight club and chose students his own age to fight with in a dip at school, Kieran and Sarah became

suspicious of fights being held at school, and sent letters to parents and guardians, warning them about the fights. Mark

eventually fought Gina's son Sean. When his friend Pat told Sarah and Kieran about the arranged fight, they ran to the arena

just as the club members ran away.

[edit] Mondo O'Connell

Mondo is Ray's son and Juliet's father. When he first arrived in Carrigstown, he was going through a tough time in his life.

He intially found it difficult to concentrate at school and he subsequently got into trouble, when he lied that his teacher

Barry O'Hanlon assaulted him. Mondo admitted the truth and eventually went back to school to make a new start in his life.

When he met Kira Cassidy, he began a relationship with her. He reconciled with his mother Angela.

Moving into a flat, Mondo and Kira seemed to be happy, but when Kira realised that she was pregnant, she eventually decided

to leave Carrigstown and emigrate to England. Mondo was devastated by this and found himself spending nights partying with

his friend Slim. When Mondo met Lauren McAleer, he found love once again, but her father Seamus disapproved of their

relationship. He told Mondo that he would give him a job on condition that he stop dating his daughter. Mondo was forced to

call time on the romance, much to Lauren's distress.

Coincidentally, Mondo's next two ordeals were not his own doing, but the work of other people. One night when Dominic's

daughter Kylie went out with Mondo, Dominic beat her up for coming home late. When he framed Mondo for the assault, Dominic

forced Kylie to tell the Gardaí that Mondo raped her. Mondo was arrested, but he was later released and Kylie found herself

trapped in Dominic's house. Mondo went over to the house and confronted Dominic. As Dominic prepared to attack Mondo, Kylie

warned her father that the Gardaí were coming. A furious Dominic tried to stop Kylie and Mondo running away, but the two

teenagers managed to escape. Kylie dropped the charges and moved into a flat.

Soon after this, Mondo continued being on McAleer's payroll. When he met Lauren's friends, he was forced to flee the country

when he unwittingly witnessed a murder, as a hitman had been ordered to kill him. Mondo came by this information when Mick

O'Shea told him. Realising that Lauren was worried about Mondo, McAleer helped him get to the airport just in time. Mondo is

currently in England with Kira.

[edit] Pascal Mulvey

Pascal was an ex-soldier. When he arrived in Carrigstown, he retained a liberal view of life. Pascal had a long rivalry with

Hannah. When he discovered that Lorcan had killed Billy Meehan, he urged him to tell the Gardai the truth. A scared Lorcan

instead opted to join the Irish Army. When Leo was arrested for Billy's murder, Pascal believed that Carol was manipulating

her son and decided to meet with her to discuss this.

Unfortunately, when Carol met Pascal in a park, she discovered that he was unconscious. Pascal spent the next 5 months of

his life in a comma in hospital. Pascal was delighted to hear that Lorcan had confessed to Billy's murder. Realising that he

was getting old, Pascal decided to move to New Zealand with his old girlfriend Lily.

[edit] Yvonne Gleeson

Yvonne is Mike's ex-wife and was the show's former female antagonist. After spending a few years in Australia, Yvonne

arrived in Carrigstown and began a relationship with Mike Gleeson. She was always very domineering, ordering Mike around in

an effort to move up in the world. This has seemingly caused her personality to rub off on her husband, as he now is very

snobby. Making money was Yvonne's favourite hobby, but she eventually found herself alone with no one to talk to. This

resulted in Yvoone attempting to committ suicicde at Christmas.

Mike found the drugged Yvoone and took to hospital. Yvoone vowed to be a good person from now on, but she soon went back to

her old ways. Acquiring a partnership in both the Bistro and Rainbows Bar, Yvoone became powermad, wanting everything to be

done her way. With Mike turning into a boring husband, Yvoone began an affair with Richard. This resulted in Yvoone becoming

pregnant with Richard's child. While in a car with a drunken Richard, Yvoone watched in horror as he knocked down a child.

The two of them ran away, but the child's mother recognized her. Yvoone and Richard subsequently fled the country, with

Yvoone returning to Australia. She now lives there with her baby son.
