This is a list of fictional villains and ghosts that only serve a purpose on the Nickelodeon cartoon, Danny Phantom. Only ghosts that play a major role in the series (and are not merely henchmen or minions) are listed.
[edit] Ghost Villains
These are some of the ghostly villains you'll see in various epiosdes. The term "ghost" is actually a generic category in which all beings from the Ghost Zone come from. They are either beings that originated from the Ghost Zone or may be the wandering spirits of deceased humans, such as Desiree and the Dairy King. Most ghosts exhibit the standard array of powers such as flying, invisibility, intangibility and shapeshifting. Ghosts can vary from just about any kind of shape, size and form.
One important thing to note about ghosts is that they all respect the Christmas Truce, in which no fighting is allowed and even the most bitter of enemies can enjoy twenty-four hours of peace.
Below is a list of ghosts who are naturally evil by choice.
[edit] The Lunch Lady Ghost
Voiced by Patricia Heaton and later by Kath Soucie, the Lunch Lady Ghost appeared in the very first episode of the series, "Mystery Meat", the Lunch Lady Ghost was Danny's first major opponent. Presumably having worked in Casper High's cafeteria, the Lunch Lady Ghost takes no pleasure in seeing the cafeteria's mostly meat-based menu changed for any reason whatsoever. She broke through the Ghost Zone (thanks to the Fenton Portal) and terrorized the school and Sam Manson, seeing that she changed the menu to ultra-recyclo-vegetarian. She was the first ghost captured in the Fenton Thermos by Danny. She later appeared in "Prisoners of Love", where she had been captured by Walker's police and put to work in the prison cafeteria as well as various cameos throughout the show.
In addition to power over all things pertaining to lunch, she can also control food (namely meat), to the point of forming it around herself as a giant meat monster. Jazz referred to her as "Lunch-abelle" (a pun on Oscar Mayer's Lunchables food line) in "Secret Weapons".
In an alternate future, she is married to the Box Ghost and has a daughter (humorously named Box Lunch). Despite this, she does not appear in "The Ultimate Enemy", which may give reason to believe that Dark Danny could have found a way to destroy her permanently.
[edit] The Box Ghost
The Box Ghost' is voiced by Rob Paulsen. He serves as a mostly harmless ghost who is "master of all things cardboard and square". He may have once been a person who put together cardboard boxes. He often shouts, "I am the Box Ghost! Beware!" and repeats it when he is defeated or leaves a room. He tends to be a weak, non-threatening ghost, which sometimes provokes other ghosts to use him to their advantage (for example, Skulker often uses him as bait to lure Danny into traps). He was more of a challenge for Danny earlier in the series, but nowadays Danny doesn't even care as to whether or not he's loose (since he's too pathetic to be a threat to anyone). However, in Boxed Up Fury, the Box Ghost's desire to be feared leads him to seek out Pandora's box, which causes more problems than it's worth.
In the alternate future, he is actually more of a feared, powerful threat than he used to be. He is also married to the Lunch Lady Ghost, and has a child (humorously named Box Lunch).
[edit] Skulker
Skulker is a ghost who introduces himself as a great predator. He is voiced by Matthew St. Patrick then later voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. First appearing in "One of a Kind", Skulker hunts down rare and unusual items, and he fancies himself as a collector of all things rare and unique. His primary goal is to one day capture Danny Phantom. He wears high-tech battle armor and is often seen in the services of Vlad Plasmius.
Inside the suit, he's a small green frog-like ghost with short arms and legs and a squeaky little voice. In "Micro Management", Skulker upgrades his battlesuit into a more advanced suit of armor, (Although the extra gear may simply be collapseable portions of the suit) but only before returning it to its original form in "Double Cross My Heart", where it got confiscated by the Guys in White.
In the alternate future of "The Ultimate Enemy", he and Technus have combined into one high-tech, dual personality superghost, called SkulkTech 9.9.
In "Girl's Night Out", it is revealed that he's Ember McLain's boyfriend and, because she criticized his hunting skills, tried to catch Danny to impress her, only to be defeated by Jack Fenton.
[edit] Nicolai Technus
Nicolai Technus is a recurring ghost and the self-proclaimed "Master of Technology (and All Things Electronic and Beeping)". He is voiced by Rob Paulsen, in a voice closely resembling that of Gilbert Gottfried. Mostly all of the time, he always talks about himself with the opening, "I, Technus,...". In reality, he is more of a "Master of Really Long-Winded Introductions," as he spends more time gloating about his evil plans than he does executing said plans (although he later upgraded himself to undo this flaw). Technus has the ability to control and merge together with technology, similar to the Lunch Lady, only without meat.
The first time he appears Technus sports a blue lab coat, long white hair and resembles the typical mad professor stereotype except for his sunglasses. From "Identity Crisis" and onwards, Technus changes his appearance and fixes a few minor weaknesses as the result of giving himself an "upgrade". The new Technus, dubbed "Technus 2.0" sports a mullet, a new wardrobe, and the ability to control a wider variety of gadgets at once. He declared his upgrade when he found an electronic store with plasma screen and surround sound. He also doesn't shout out his plans as often as he used to either.
Though it eventually stopped working, in "Flirting with Disaster, Technus attempts to get Danny and Valerie into a relationship, so that he can get control of a super satellite that gives him control of all of the computers in the world without Danny interfering. In the process of his plan, he upgrades Valerie's ghost-hunting suit, giving her a new look and generally more powerful.
In the alternate future of "The Ultimate Enemy", he and Skulker have combined into one high-tech, dual personality superghost, called SkulkTech, where the two combined prove to be a most formidable foe for Danny Phantom, but also seem to have problems cooperating with each other. His name is a pun on the physicist Nikola Tesla.
[edit] Desiree
Desiree is an age-old ghost/genie that was originally a human Arabian girl. She is voiced by Peri Gilpin. She was apparently involved with a sultan, who promised to fulfill her heart's desire, but was banished by the Sultan's jealous wife and eventually died of a broken heart (and old age). When her origin is being told, it appears that she wasn't evil at first, but eventually grew bitter and envious of her "masters'" happiness, and apparently decided to have wishes end up turning against the wisher.
Desiree now travels the world as a ghost, granting anyone's deepest desires (wishes and desires expressed verbally i.e. "I wish..." or "I want..."), much like the genie she resembles, only all her powers are spectrally-based rather than magically-based and most of the time her wishes that she grants go out of control. The more wishes she grants, the more powerful she becomes. She is obviously named Desiree because it sounds like the word "Desire" which is something you want. Desiree's habit of granting every wish she hears is her primary weakness.
[edit] Penelope Spectra
A ghost that has found the ability to stay young by sapping the life energy from humans. The victim, however, must be in a depressed and tired state in order for this to be effective. Her true form is that of a shadow-like creature. She is voiced by Tara Strong.
In her first appearance, "My Brother's Keeper", she was a guidance counselor at Casper High, and was making the students miserable to retain her youth. She was actually willing to kill Jazz, too in gain all the depression later caused by the students if she had died. However, before she could do this, she had to fight Danny, and she was very close to killing him, too. Right before she was about to defeat him, though, Jazz came to Danny's rescue with the Fenton Peeler, peeling away her layers of youth so Danny could suck her into the Fenton Thermos.
Her ultimate goal is to create the perfect body for her to inhabit. She tried to achieve this by gathering DNA samples from the various students in Casper High in "Doctor's Disorders" through the means of ghost-bugs overshadowing them (the development of ghost powers in the victims were a side effect), and sending them to a fake hospital resembling the old, disturbing ones found in the days before safe medicinal practices (North Mercy Hospital -- though the letters burning out on the neon sign left it reading "No Mercy" Hospital). Knowing that she needed Danny's DNA to grant full power to her "body", she tried to capture Danny and extract it from him personally. The plan was foiled when Danny fed a snot-filled handkerchief (courtesy of his dad) into the extractor, which led to a really sticky situation for Spectra, now transformed into a mucous creature with the body shape of Jack Fenton (ie. square jaw).
Spectra is one of the most sadistic and murderous ghosts that Danny's ever faced. In both her appearances, she has demonstrated that she's willing to kill anyone to get what she wants, whether by blowing Jazz up with a pair of large lasers or by letting a swarm of ghost bugs kill the entire student body of Casper High while their DNA is being siphoned.
[edit] Bertrand
Bertrand is Penelope Spectra's shape-shifting assistant. He is voiced by Jim Ward. As Penelope builds people's depressions, Betrand extracts the life energy from them. While he usually assumes the form of a short, middle-aged man, his true self is nothing more than a walking blob of ectoplasm. When in this form, he bares a slight resemblance to Slimer, the ghost from the Ghostbusters films. His shape-shifting abilities make him one of Danny's harder opponents, as he can easily keep Danny guessing by shifting forms and fighting styles. Unlike most henchmen, Bertrand is more of a partner to Spectra, but he's still pretty much the one who does all the work for her.
[edit] Ember McLain
Voiced by Tara Strong, Ember McLain is a hard-rocking girl ghost that gains power when "fans" cheer her name (and her fiery ponytail flares up). She first appeared in Fanning the Flames where she used her music to take over the world (as well as cast a love spell on Danny to keep him busy till she acted on her plans). Danny defeated her however via Tucker's bad singing. She is one of the most popular ghosts on the series.
In "Pirate Radio", her music was used to enslave many adults on a pirate ship controlled by Youngblood, it was the only episode she sports her pirate-like outfit.
In the episode "The Ultimate Enemy", Danny of the "present" in the alternate future learned that Dark Danny damaged Ember's vocal cords, causing her to lose her singing voice and become obese at an alarmingly short amount of time (as Dark Danny claimed the Ghostly Wail was relatively new). This has also confirmed that ghosts can gain or lose weight. She then appeared in "The Fright Before Christmas", as one of the many ghosts who helped Danny save Christmas.
Her song, "RemEmber", can be heard on Butch Hartman's website, under "Audio."
In Girls Night Out, it's revealed that she is Skulker's girlfriend, and has often criticizied him on his terrible ghost hunting abilities.
[edit] Fright Knight
Voiced by Michael Dorn, the Fright Knight is the self-described "Spirit of Halloween" whose sword, the "Soul Shredder", causes people to experience their greatest fears. He rides a bat-winged horse. His major weakness is that he is sent back to the Ghost Zone if someone (namely Danny) puts his sword inside a pumpkin and says the incantation to send him back. In "Reign Storm", he apparently made a deal with Vlad Plasmius, though it is unknown what that deal is. It is most likely he works for Vlad now. Prior to that, he worked for Pariah Dark as his loyal servant. In "The Ultimate Enemy", he works for Dark Danny, and shows up to attack the future Valerie before Dark Danny does. Strangely, Fright Knight does not use the Soul Shredder during his attack on future Amity Park, but instead throws purple meteors as his main attack.

Voiced by Daran Norris, Bullet is Walker's second in command, and is just as strict as his employer. However, when outside the ghost warden's view, he often resorts to his own methods rather than Walker's. He may have been a hardcore military man in his former life, which would explain the camo pants that he wears.

Lydia, the only ghost who willingly works for Freakshow, never spoke once, and seems to have a relationship with Freakshow, with and without any magical artifacts. She has several tattoos on most of her body, wears a red cloak, black boots, shirt, and tights, has a spiked mohawk, and a nose ring. Lydia has the ability to make any of her tattoos to come alive and do multiple things, such as create a whirlwind that can transport anyone anywhere. She is the only ghost Freakshow ever controlled that seems to actually be evil. Lydia's name may be inspired by the song Lydia the Tattooed Lady.
[edit] Captain Youngblood
A 10-year old ghost and the captain of a band of ghost pirates. He is voiced by Taylor Lautner. However, he doesn't know much about pirate lingo and his parrot often helps him out with that. He has the ability to shoot ectoplasmic beams out of his hook and his peg-leg can turn into a cannon. Seeing how he later dressed up as a cowboy, it can be presumed that he might dress up as something different when he next appears. Being that of a young, bratty child who dislikes adults, he can only be seen by kids and never by adults (or kids that think they're adults, such as Jazz).
As Youngblood's dressings, and parrot/horse (which coincidentally both just skeletons or corpses or remains of animals) change from episode to episode, many people believe that he may be the ghost of a child that's just role playing while wreaking havoc as he likes.
[edit] Pariah Dark
First appearing in "Reign Storm", Pariah Dark is the King of all Ghosts, with control of the powerful Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire. He is voiced by Brian Cox. While wearing both of these items, Pariah Dark has near limitless power. He commands the Fright Knight as well as an army of Skeletal ghosts. In the distant past, in a last ditch effort to dethrone him and end his tyranny, a group of ancient ghosts successfully removed the Ring of Rage from him and imprisoned him in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep. Very powerful foe, but more interested in becoming king than defeating his enemies. Butch Hartman has once stated in an interview that the DC Comics villain Darkseid was an inspiration for the idea of Pariah Dark..
According to Skulker's story, Pariah Dark is the most powerful ghost of all. He was the only one who could harness the powers of the Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire. Physically and energy-wise, he is unbeatable.
After defeating Pariah Dark in "Reign Storm", Danny becomes known to Frostbite's race as "The Savior of the Ghost Zone". Danny learns of this in the episode "Infinite Realms".
[edit] Dark Danny/"Dan Phantom"
An evil full-ghost version of Danny Phantom (also known as Danny Phantom's Ultimate Enemy). First appeared in "The Ultimate Enemy" which was both a TV movie and the first Danny Phantom video game, for the Game Boy Advance. He is voiced by Eric Roberts.
In an alternate timeline, when Danny chooses to cheat on a special test that is supposed to determine his future, his friends and family pay the price when they die in an explosion at the Nasty Burger. Afterwards he moved in with his arch enemy, Vlad. Completely taken over by the grief, Danny had Vlad separate his human and ghost halves, which caused Danny Phantom to go malevolent (although why this happened in "Ultimate Enemy", and not "Identity Crisis" is a mystery) and remove Vlad's ghost-half, merging with it, thus turning into Dark Danny. After murdering his human-self (though human Vlad survived the ordeal by turning to his bunker in the lab), Dark Danny continued to cause pain and destruction throughout the entire world (except Amity Park thanks to their more powerful ghost shield), as well as in the Ghost Zone now that he had no human emotions left.
When Danny met his evil future self, he tried the best he could to save his friends and family from the tragic accident that would eventually bring about the existence of Dark Danny, so he wouldn't grow up to become his own worst enemy. Though Danny was able to defeat Dark Danny, he seemingly failed to save everyone and change the future. Luckily for him, Clockwork foresaw all this and saved Danny's loved ones at the last minute, sending Danny back in time to when the test began, and giving him a second chance at changing his future. Although Dark Danny was in the present at the time trapped in Danny's thermos, the thermos was given to Clockwork, therefore Dark Danny exists outside of time. This opens the possibility that he might return.
Unlike Danny's other enemies, Dark Danny has no guilt or conscience. He is pure evil, and he is willing to destroy people's lives, or even kill to get what he wants, including the people he onced cared for.
There is much debate on what this character's real name is. In The Ultimate Enemy, Valerie and Skulktech 9.9 refers to him by his last name, Phantom. The end credits, Butch Hartman, and tv.com call him Dark Danny, while the game calls him Dan Phantom, which might not be what he will be called in the show, since Jack once called Danny "Dan". Then again, he never does introduce himself by name, so his true name may yet be unknown.
[edit] Prince Aragon
Prince Aragon is the ruthless older brother of Dorathea (AKA The Dragon Ghost) and possesses all the same powers as her (in fact, their powers are equal to each other, although Dorathea was unaware of that fact). He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. He bullied his sister into thinking that being a princess meant that she was supposed to be perfect and happy. She then did whatever he told her, including seeking a human bride for him, because he wants what others can't have. Prince Aragon is a bully, and has a nasty temper. Like his sister, his Amulet of Aragon grants him his powers, and he's powerless without it. When transformed, Aragon takes on the body of a black and purple dragon, similar to the dragon form of Maleficent.
His name is possibly a parody of Eragon or Aragorn. It could also be a reference to Ferdinand of Aragon, king of Spain and instigator of the Spanish Inquisition. This era of hate, torture, and sadistic cruelty would seem to be fitting for the basis of Prince Aragon, a cruel and manipulative prince of the Ghost Zone. It could also be a pun off the word 'arrogant'.
[edit] Hotep Ra
Hotep Ra is the spirit of an ancient minion of King Duulaman, an Egyptian pharaoh bearing the likeness of Tucker Foley. He is voiced by S. Scott Bullock. He was released from his eternal sleep when Tucker looked into the mirror at the front of Ra's sarcophagus. For a little while, he served Tucker and tricked him into using Duulaman's powerful staff to turn all of Amity Park into an Egyptian kingdom. But with Danny interfering, Hotep took matters into his own hands and activated a sphinx to destroy Tucker and Danny. However, since the sphinx beared the likeliness of Tucker, it obeyed him and chase Hotep across the city. Hotep Ra is a mummy ghost, being that most of his body is under wraps of bandages. He can command them to unravel and wrap into any of his opponents. He is mainly nothing more than a skeleton under his bandages, although he can reform at will if unraveled. A gag as Tucker points out, he seems to shout "I am Risen!" every time he revives.
Although he claims to be loyal to his pharaoh, he secretly desires the pharaoh's power for his own.
[edit] Vortex
Vortex is a ghost with the power to control the weather, who appeared in "Torrent of Terror". He is requested by Vlad to bring about rain during a drought, controlling his powers with a barometer. However Vortex rebels when he refuses to make the rain go away and creates havoc with his powers after the barometer is broken until Danny uses his own given weather powers against him.
[edit] Undergrowth
Undergrowth is the main villain in the episode "Urban Jungle". According to Frostbite, he is a self-regenerating ghost who uses his power over plants. He uses his "mind-vines" to control humans, instead of the regular overshadowing, in order to feed them to his "children". His weakness is the cold. He is played by Mark Hamill. He controls Sam and, because of her love of vegetation and plants, he makes her his "daughter", and also makes her the mother of the plants. He has red eyes with no pupils, and his body is made up of vines and other plants, allowing him to self-regenerate and shapeshift.
[edit] Human Villains and Anti-Heroes
These are humans who are a threat to Danny and any other ghost. Note: Freakshow is the only one of these humans who is evil by choice.
[edit] Freakshow
Freakshow is the only actual human villain on the show. He is voiced by Jon Cryer. He runs the Circus Gothica, a goth circus that utilizes ghosts as the performers. He possesses and uses a staff with a ruby crystal ball that has the ability to control the ghost performers (as well as halfas like Danny). Without it, he is powerless. He is a dangerous ringmaster, but often makes his ghosts do his bidding. He isn't really much more than that, since his ghosts do his work, but can be very manipulative and can make his ghosts kill any being that he wishes.
According to Freakshow, the staff was passed down to him from previous generations of his family. However, while his predecessors were content to control ghosts for means of entertainment, Freakshow prefers to control ghosts for profit. He does this by using the Circus Gothika as a distraction for the audience while its ghost performers loot the cities they perform in. However, he is still a showman and ringmaster by nature, and is apparently obsessed with inserting drama into any given situation.
He returned for the third TV movie, "Reality Trip" where he stole the Reality Gauntlet from the Guys in White and frees the ghost villainess Lydia (who was one of his ghosts from "Control Freak" and a possible relationship with). At Casper High, Freakshow holds the entire school hostage while he fights Danny, Tucker, and Sam, who use a defense mechanism in the gauntlet to cause the stones to disappear. Following the battle, Danny is so weak, which causes him to change back to human form, which everyone in the school and on TV sees (including his parents). Lydia kidnaps the parents of Danny, Tucker, and Sam at Freakshow's command and holds them hostage to make Danny find the Reality Gems, four stones with the power to change reality. After travelling the nation in search for the gems while being chased by the Guys in White, Danny returns and Freakshow activates the gauntlet, becoming the Ringmaster of all Reality. But, with his ghost envy, he turns himself into a ghost which enables Danny to outwit him by catching him in the Fenton Thermos (since Freakshow was a ghost, it was, as Danny put it, much easier to win). He was released in prison, where he was recaptured by the Guys in White. Although Danny erases everyone's memories at the end, Freakshow didn't have the same blank expression, meaning he may still remember Danny's secret identity.
Freakshow's real name may be Frederich Isaak Showenhower. He obviously got his nickname from his real name: Frederich Issak Showenhower. He is also the author of a book about ghostly artifacts (ex. the Reality Gauntlet).
Freakshow is, in both appearance and mannerisms, a likely parody of the Batman villain, The Joker, although he also has similarities to The Ringmaster, a villain from Marvel comics. His recent excursion with the Reality Gauntlet draws comparison with Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet series.
Freakshow is believably Danny's most evil full-human enemy, where as Valerie and the Guys in White are a threat because of their obsession to destroy ghosts. He has envied ghosts since they in a way ruined his childhood, causing him to suffer from a powerful inferiority complex, stating his parents loved ghosts more than they loved him. Oddly enough, Jazz empathizes with this feeling, since her parents have also dedicated their lives to ghosts. Freakshow is willing enough to use ghosts to kill or hurt others. He wants to be as dangerous as ghosts are. Strangely, though Freakshow is a human, he seems to have a ghostly glow, though this is probably an effect from using his ghostly weapons (i.e. reality gauntlet and his red crystal ball). It is possible that it's a symbolic, "villainic" glow, although it could have just been a mistake made by the animators.
[edit] Valerie Gray, "Ghost Hunter"
Voiced by Cree Summer, Valerie was once a popular girl at Casper High, part of the "in" crowd with Paulina, Dash, Kwan, etc. until the appearance of a huge ghost dog at Axion where her father Damon Grey has a security contract with. The ghost dog trashed the place and her dad was fired; Valerie ended up with little money and less popularity. Blaming all her misfortune on Danny Phantom, Valerie dedicates herself to learning how to hunt ghosts. Unbeknowest to her, Vlad Plasmius has taken advantage of her grudge and has secretly supplied her with various ghost-hunting weaponry with which to destroy Danny (and allow Vlad to spy on Danny in secret).
In "Reign Storm", it is shown that Valerie had a crush on Danny Fenton. Valerie also learns that her weapon supplier is Vlad Masters (although she is unaware of Vlad's own alter-ego as Plasmius).
In "Flirting with Disaster", Valerie goes deeper into her crush with Danny. However, Technus possesses her armor in an attempt to kill Danny, with Danny destroying her ghost-hunting suit in the end. When Technus hooks up with a satellite in space, he upgrades Valerie, giving her a red and black-striped suit and the power to change into her suit at will. Her new suit is capable of space travel, and her face shows through the mask. Her new suit upgrade by Technus may have destroyed Vlad's spying equipment on Valerie's original suit, but this remains to be seen.
Valerie is a very persistent and dangerous foe, especially with her new suit. She appears to hunt other ghosts too, as she was seen shooting at the Box Ghost in one episode. Although she helps Danny in some episodes, her arrogance usually makes it painful for Danny to work with her. Because she has chased other ghosts, and helps Danny Phantom from time to time, and being that she has no interest in world domination, Valerie is more of an anti-hero as opposed to being a villain. Her "Ghost Hunter" look is based on the Marvel Comics character Rocket Racer.
Strangely, despite her grudge for Danny, she doesn't appear in "Reality Trip", in which Danny's secret identity is exposed to the world. Many fans were disappointed that Valerie's possible reaction to Danny was never even touched upon.
[edit] Guys in White
First appeared in "The Million Dollar Ghost", They're a secret government organization aiming to eliminate all ghosts and other paranormal beings. The organization mainly focuses around two agents tasked on capturing Danny Phantom. During their first appearance, they came for the million dollar bounty positioned by Vlad Plasmius, but they failed to cash in.
They return for "Reality Trip". In the beginning, they are seen questioning Freakshow about the Reality Gauntlet. They aren't suspicious until Freakshow steals the Gauntlet and activates it with the gems. After he escapes, they chase Freakshow to Casper High, where they witness Danny Phantom's secret identity get revealed. Looking to catch Danny, the GiW pursue him all over the country, only to get outsmarted and outblasted at every encounter. Defeated, they return to their headquarters. Later, Danny appears to deliver a captured Freakshow and erase their knowing of Danny's identity.
They returned again as principle characters intent on capturing Danny Phantom in "Double Cross My Heart", where they came close to discovering his secret identity but concluded that the new goth kid, Gregor, was the ghost boy. After their most recent confrontation with Danny Phantom, they ended up lying in the mud and in hot water from their commissioner.
It should be noted that the Guys in White are among the three most technologically advanced human factions in the show, likely because of government funding. Their equipment surpasses that of the Fentons and possibly Vlad's. Like Valerie, the Guys in White are more or less anti-heroes as opposed to being villains. They have no ambitions for world domination or control over the Ghost Zone, although the fact that they want to destroy all ghosts in existence makes them dangerous enough.
They are obviously a parody of the Men in Black.
[edit] Queen Sam
In "Urban Jungle", Sam is taken over by Undergrowth and serves as his "queen". Having been turned into a sort of human-plant hybrid as a result of being fused to "The Growth" (her term for all those under Undergrowth's power), she possesses mental control over any and all plants in her vicinity.
Danny is, at first, reluctant to fight his best friend, and barely manages to escape from her into the Ghost Zone. Later, however, he manages to pull himself together and take the fight to her. After a hard struggle, Danny manages to incapacitate Sam long enough for him to defeat Undergrowth and free her from his control. Queen Sam is voiced by Grey DeLisle, who provides a more sinister air to Sam's voice than usual. Her powers and initial style of dress are identical to the classic Batman villain Poison Ivy. When she later appears in her queen attire, she bears more of a resemblance to the Disney villain Maleficent.

Wulf, appearing in "Public Enemies" is a werewolf-like ghost who can use his claws to rip a ghost out of an overshadowed human and rip into (or out of) the real world at will crossing from there to the Ghost Zone. Wulf's claw abilities appear to be a variation of ecto energy manipulation combined with intangibility. He was first seen as a captive of Walker's. He can also go through ghost shields using a special spinning technique. He speaks Esperanto throughout most of the show. Seen wearing a green sweatshirt. Once helped Danny in Walker's ghost war on Amity Park; he told Danny they would see each other again, a promise he held when Danny and Sam reunites with him in "Claw of the Wild" where he helped the two rescue their classmates and teachers from Walker and his goons whom kidnapped them for ransom, still in pursuit of Wulf. They are eventually rescued after subduing Walker, leaving Wulf free once more.
[edit] Ghost-Dog "Cujo"
'"Cujo"' the ghost-dog a puppy when playful, but fully grown 30-foot adult bullmastiff or mastiff when vicious and hostle. Vocal effects by S. Scott Bullock. He was responsible for trashing the Axion company. No matter how many times Danny returned him to the Ghost-Zone, he kept digging his way back. Eventually, when Danny discovers his rubber chew toy, the Ghost-Dog took it and disappeared back into the Ghost Zone. It is likely that he returned for his toy and was searching for it. He is sometimes referred to as 'Cujo', after the dog in the Stephen King story of the same name. He made brief reappearances during "Reign Storm" and "Kindred Spirits" (via a flashback). In "Life Lessons", he is also seen on a poster in Valerie's room depicting him as her second-most wanted ghost to blast (not surprisingly, Danny tops her list).
"Cujo" apparently may have been a guard dog in training at the Axion Lab, but with higher security, the dogs weren't needed any more. Damon Gray's boss states all the guard dogs are now "rid of", a possible theory that they were put to sleep, "Cujo" included.
His name is a reference to the rabid dog in the Stephen King novel of the same name.
[edit] Clockwork
First appeared in "The Ultimate Enemy" and voiced by David Carradine, Clockwork is a ghost who oversees time and has time based powers, such as stopping or fast-forwarding, as well as genuine prescience. His appearance can also randomly shift between boy, man, and old man (though it is unclear which is his true form). Perhaps based on the Spectre and the Phantom Stranger. He can use amulets to bring people or things into the past, present or future. Predictably, he lives in a giant clock. Although it was his job to destroy Danny to prevent the existence of Dark Danny, in the end he became one of Danny's allies. Clockwork also has extreme distaste for the Observants, seeing as how they call on him to do their dirty work.
He makes his second appearance in "Masters of All Time", in which he advises Danny not to try and change the past. Clockwork agreed to let Danny try, if only to teach him a lesson, though he said, "I'm the Ghost of Time, not the Ghost of Miracle Cures." When Danny went back to him hoping to once again go back, Clockwork refused, only agreeing to reset time. However, he conveniently showed Danny what was necessary to cure the ecto-acne he had gone back in time to prevent, and after Danny leaves he smiles, an indication that he planned it.
[edit] Frostbite
In the series chronology, his first meeting with Danny takes place in "Infinite Realms", but due to Nickelodeon airing the episodes out of order, he made his first season 3 appearance in "Urban Jungle" (See Butch Hartman's announcementfor more information. Must be a member to view.) Frostbite is a yeti-like ghost who, despite his fearsome appearance, is an expert on ghostly sicknesses and how to treat them.
Frostbite first meets Danny, Sam, and Tucker when they crash land in his icy domain in the episode "Infinite Realms". Frostbite later gives Danny the Infi-map which can take its user to any natural or man-made ghost portal. Frostbite and his race refer to Danny as the "Great One" or the "Savior of the Ghost Zone" due to Danny's defeat of Pariah Dark in the episode "Reign Storm".
In "Urban Jungle" when Danny comes down with a case of unusual chills (a precursor to his emerging ice powers), he comes to Frostbite for help. It is also revealed in Urban Jungle that Frostbite's race has mastered the ice powers Danny Phantom receives in the episode. He is voiced by Bob Joles.

The owner of Pandora's Box appears in "Boxed Up Fury" in which Danny seeks her to stop the Box Ghost not much else is known about her other then her constant desire to keep further evil from spreading out of her box that she guards.

The show's titular hero. An accident in the Fenton Portal turned this once unassuming young boy into a half ghost hero. Unknown to the public at first until Walker turned the entire town on him out of revenge, Danny gained his reputation as Amity Park's deputized protector after saving the town from Pariah Dark. The once shy, naive boy quickly turned into a more mature crime fighting hero.
[edit] Vlad Masters/Plasmius
Danny's arch-nemesis, a multi-billionaire with powers similar to his own. Unlike Danny, Vlad used his powers to get ahead in life. His main purpose and goal is to uptain both Maddie and Danny as his wife and son respectfully, driven by the emotions in his lonely heart, though latter episodes indicate Vlad's view on Danny is now that of pure rivals. He is currently the mayor of Amity Park.
[edit] Jack Fenton/Plasmius
In "Masters Of All Time" when Danny went back in time to "fix" the past so Vlad Masters wouldn't get ecto-acne (as well as prevent Vlad from blackmailing him by infecting Sam and Tucker with ecto-acne), it instead resulted in the creation of Jack Plasmius. Rather than the proto-portal blast striking Vlad, it struck Jack. As a result, Jack gets the ecto-acne and ends up being a lonely man with ghost powers, like Vlad Plasmius.
When Danny met up with Jack, he thought Danny was a stranger and tried blasting him with his ghost powers, until Danny showed him proof that he's Jack's son and the evidence of Maddie's marriage to Vlad. Later, Jack headed for Vlad's mansion in Wisconsin just as Danny was captured by his mom, and reconsidered to Maddie. After making up with each other, Jack and Maddie then helped Danny to find Clockwork. Vlad, however, showed up and tried to kill the two halfas. Jack was seemingly killed trying to defend the love of his life, for he was struck by Vlad's ecto gun as he used his ghost powers to save Danny and Maddie.
Jack Plasmius looks exactly like Vlad Plasmius, except he is larger, weighs more, and has pupils in his eyes. He also has all the same powers and is just as experienced (but is still a bad aim). Like Danny, he attempted to use his powers for good, but unlike his son, he quit after he embarrassed himself in public during Halloween when he found out the "ghost" he was chasing was really a kid in a costume.
It should be noted that, in order to allow Jack's ghost form to look like Vlad's, his hair remains black. However, it should be white, as the hair color of both Vlad and Danny's ghost forms are an inversion of their normal hair color; thus, Vlad's white hair becomes black while a ghost, and Danny's black hair becomes white.
[edit] Danielle "Dani" Phantom
A female clone version and counterpart of Danny Phantom, created by Vlad. Portraying herself as Danny's distant cousin, she lured him into Vlad's grasp for his final plans to build the perfect "half ghost son" clone. She betrayed him out of anger when she found out her only purpose was to be used then the daughter she assumed Vlad pictured her as. She and Danny eventually teamed up to destroy the clone lab and is now one of Danny's allies. Dani's first and only appearance thus far is in "Kindred Spirits".

[edit] Dorathea "Dora" the Dragon Ghost
Voiced by Susan Blakeslee, Dora is a young ghost princess named Dorathea is doomed to always wear the Cursed Amulet of Aragon, which turns anyone who wears it into a fierce Ghost Dragon, but only when the person experiences "emotional distress." Once the amulet is off the person wearing it returns to normal with no memory of their time as a ghost. The amulet itself may be a parody to Eragon as they are both pronounced the same way and almost look the same.
Dora isn't a real true villain but becoming a heroine as both in her own hostly human self and her ghost dragon from by her own decision. Rather, she is bullied by her big brother, Prince Aragon, to do his dirty work for him. In "Beauty Marked", Dora, after hearing a little peptalk from Sam, finally gets up enough gumption to stand up to her big brother. Her status as an ally or a neutral ghost is debatable.
[edit] Sidney Poindexter
Sidney Poindexter is the ghost of a 1950s nerdy teenager. He is voiced by Peter MacNicol. Sidney was trapped in an unchanging world of 1950s ghost bullies within a mirror in Casper High. In life, Sidney attended Casper High, and according to Tucker was the most picked on kid of Casper High history (picking on him was apparently a graduation requirement). Desperate to get out and get revenge on bullies everywhere, Sidney tricked Danny into switching places with him, trapping Danny's ghost form in the mirror while he possessed Danny's human body. He is in a part of the Ghost Zone that is completely in Black-and-White including the normally Green-and-Black background. Danny managed to switch back eventually after battling him in Sidney's form. Sidney then later gets respect from his peers for surviving a battle with Danny Phantom (when in reality Danny was still possessed in Sidney's body when they battled).
Since we see him in other episodes with other ghosts, it is assumed that he is in the regular Ghost Zone and just that section of the Ghost Zone is in Black-and-White. Poindexter was the first well-meaning ghost of the series who acted against Danny for the sake of teaching him a lesson. Poindexter was also the first to call Danny a "Halfa". Later, Poindexter rode on the back of ghost-dragon Dorothea in the battle against Pariah Dark and has made cameos in various episodes. However, it is unlikely he will return again in an important role.
Sidney's name is probably a take on the name Sidney Potier, a famous black actor.
[edit] Walker
A very strict skull-faced vigilante ghost and warden who runs the prison of the Ghost Zone with the help of numerous lackeys. He is voiced by James Arnold Taylor. Describing himself as "Judge, executioner, jury, executioner, jailer, and if necessary, executioner" (as one might guess, he loves that part of the job), all who would dare break the law of the Ghost Zone faces him. His debut in "Prisoner of Love" has shown him sentencing Danny to 1000 years in the prison for violating one of Walker's rules (Danny allegedly brought a non-ghost item into the Ghost Zone). After Danny gets free (and frees other prisoners alongside), Walker, as revenge, attacked his home town of Amity Park. He and his minions constantly overshadowed his close friends and antagonists (Dash being one of them) and managed to turn the entire town against Danny. Technically, Walker actually beat Danny, since his plan to turn Danny's town against him worked. However, after "Reign Storm", public opinion of Danny Phantom has reversed as more than 60% consider him a hero. He returns in "Claw of the Wild" where he kidnapped Danny's classmates and teachers while on his continous mad pursuit of Wulf whom he again failed to capture due to both Danny and Sam's interference.
Walker greatly resembles the Scourge of The Underworld, and is one of Danny's more dangerous enemies. He also appears as a mini boss of the Ghost Zone Prison world in Nicktoons Unite!
[edit] The Dairy King Ghost
First appearing in "Bitter Reunions", the Diary King Ghost is the kindly and friendliest ghost of the Wisconsin Dairy King who once lived where Vlad Masters' castle presently stands/stood. When he frees Danny from Skulker's ghost-power-negating cube, he tells Danny that "not all ghosts are evil, some just want to be left alone, don'cha'know". He seems unlikely to re-appear (although one of his self-portraits was shown in "Masters of All Time"). His name comes both from the Dairy Queen restaurant chain and from the fact that Wisconsin is, of course, the Dairy State.

Voiced by S. Scott Bullock, not much is known about Klemper, except he is as weak as The Box Ghost. Similar to The Box Ghost's obsession with boxes, Klemper wants to be friends with everyone. He has icy cold breath that can freeze almost anything and is constantly wearing red and white striped pajamas. Also like the Box Ghost, he is never portrayed as a main villain, rather as an annoyance that never makes any important appearances. He's so annoying, though, that not even The Box Ghost likes him. Jazz once called him Friendly Fiend.
[edit] Ghost Writer
Voiced by Will Arnett, Ghost Writer is a ghost who speaks in rhymes and can turn reality into a book story with his Quantum Keyboard. He hates people who disrespect his work and words that don't rhyme. He is the first ghost who broke the annual Christmas truce and ended up incarcerated in Walker's prison. He's not really as villainous as he acts, for he only used his powers so that he could teach Danny a little lesson on Christmas spirit. He especially hates the word orange as "Nothing rhymes with orange!" His name may be similar to the Ghost Rider.
He bears a vague resemblance to Meriwether Lewis, only with glasses and green eyes and may have also be based on Ghostwriter, a fictional ghost who could only communicate with others by manipulating text and letters to form words and sentences.
[edit] Johnny 13
Voiced by William Baldwin, Johnny 13 is a classic '50s biker with bad luck. His shadow, which has a life of its own, spreads this luck to others. He has a girlfriend, Kitty, who is very attached to him. Johnny isn't the most dangerous of enemies. In fact, he couldn't even be considered an enemy since he only desires to be left to himself and Kitty. However, when he starts getting bored, his shadow starts causing trouble, and Danny starts to get in his way. His shadow is very brutal, although it is easily subdued by light.
In "Lucky in Love", Johnny stole a device from the Fentons that generates a ghost portal and modifies it into his bike. He then escapes back to Amity Park taking Kitty with him. However, Johnny's leering with the other girls led Kitty to abandon him, overshadow Paulina, and seduce Danny so Johnny would feel jealous. Danny however, not bearing the fact to let Kitty woo him or risk having his secret identity (whom Kitty, as Paulina, knows) go out, asks Johnny to stage a battle with him and intentionally lose so that Kitty can see her former boyfriend as a stud.
In the episode "The Ultimate Enemy", his future self is found to be confined to a wheelchair and deteriorated, but his shadow is just as powerful as ever, (when not wheeling the chair).
The ghost may be a homage to the Marvel comic character Ghost Rider, who is also a supernatural biker and has the actual name Johnny Blaze.

Revealed in "13", "Shadow" is the source of Johnny 13's powers. It has its own will but, at the same time, obeys its master's every command. It has the power to spontaneously cause events of bad-luck, as well as hide and pose in shadows. Its main weakness is light, but it can also be affected by water.
[edit] Kitty
Kitty is Johnny 13's girlfriend who unwittingly causes trouble for Danny. She is voiced by Chynna Phillips. When she got injured trying to get through the Ghost Portal, she empowered her jacket, ring and scarf so that whoever wears them will be possessed by her which were given to Jazz by Johnny until Danny stopped him, and later possessed Paulina to make Johnny jealous. She gets very jealous when Johnny's eyes roam to other girls. She can be selfish at times, but unless anyone is hurting Johnny (or if Johnny gets too lecherous of other girls), she is trouble free. She wears the common outfit of a biker chick (leather jacket, fishnet stockings, knee-high high heeled boots, etc.)
In "The Ultimate Enemy", her future self appeared more elderly, but she still fights alongside Johnny.
When Kitty joins forces with Ember and Spectra in "Girls' Night Out", it is revealed that she can blow kisses that can make any men disappear to parts unknown, and if they stay that way for 12 hours, the men who have vanished are gone forever.
[edit] Box Lunch
She is the daughter of the Lunch Lady Ghost and the Box Ghost (When Danny hears and/or mentions that fact, he says "Ew", concerning the thought of Lunch Lady and Box Ghost having children). Like her mother, she is voiced by Kath Soucie. She can control food and boxes like her parents. She also speaks similarly to them, with Box Ghost-like moanings of "Beware!" and Lunch Lady-like mood swings. She was sent by Clockwork to fight Danny, though whether or not she was evil or just doing what Clockwork asked is unknown.
[edit] SkulkTech 9.9
The future version of Skulker and Technus fused together. They are much stronger together than they are apart, but Tucker can still hack into their system with his PDA, prompting Tucker to remark "I don't know whether that's exciting, or depressing." They possess many new weapons, though none of them work on Dark Danny. Skulktech 9.9 was only attempting to destroy Danny for the destruction he was destined to cause as Dark Danny, whether or not he was still evil is unknown. He resembles the Marvel Comics villain Vengeance (comics) from Ghost Rider.

A pair of ghosts whose faces are nothing more than large eyes. They monitor everything in the Ghost Zone and the Human world, but, somewhat clichédly, can't interfere with it directly (though they seemingly have no problem with nagging others into doing so). The Observants often call upon Clockwork to do their dirty work, and they do not get along with him. They were the ones who tried to get Clockwork to destroy Danny and prevent the rise of Dark Danny, and later charged Clockwork with keeping watch over the trapped Dark Danny after he became separate from time. In the episode "Torrent of Terror", the weather controlling ghost Vortex was imprisoned by the Observants and it is revealed that there are many more Observants than just those two. They are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker and Phil Morris. Seemingly based on Uatu, the Watcher, however Uatu at most times will break his oath of observation to assist the universe, while Observants do not.
In the videogame "The Ultimate Enemy" they are referred to as the Observers instead.

Behemoth is the 4-armed protector of the Skeleton Key. After Vlad took the key in episode "Million Dollar Ghost", it is unknown what happened to the Behemoth, though it reappeared in "Reign Storm" and in the Ultimate Enemy.

A group of ghosts bearing unspeakable power that succeeded in imprisoning Pariah Dark a long time ago. Practically every ghost in the Ghost Zone has heard of their legend, but it is unknown as to what became of them.
[edit] Amorpho
A faceless ghost. He can change into anyone or anything at will. Because he's faceless, no one notices him, so he pulls pranks and morphs into a person or creature whom gets a lot of attention just so Amorpho himself can get attention. After being stuck in the form of Mr. Lancer in Forever Phantom, Amorpho learns that getting the spotlight isn't always great. Although he causes trouble, he does so out of a desire for attention as opposed to malevolence.
