The Canada Games are a strictly amateur multi-sport event held in Canada biannually. There are Winter and Summer editions, alternating every two years, so that every four years there is a winter games, and every four years there is a summer games. Athletes form teams based on their province or territory. As of 2007, there are 13 teams. The first games were held in Canada's Centennial Year, 1967.

The 1967 Canada Winter Games were held in Quebec City, Quebec. These were the first Canada Games held, and were part of the celebrations for Canada's Centennial Year.
