[edit] Exorcists

[edit] Allen Walker

(アレン・ウォーカー Aren Uōkā?)

Allen Walker
Allen Walker

Seiyū: Kobayashi Sanae

Allen Walker is the main character of D.Gray-man. An Exorcist of British origin and also the youngest one alive, his left arm has gained the power of an anti-Akuma weapon. His anti-Akuma weapon is a rare parasite-type that shares a symbiotic relation with the Accomodator's body. His true birthday is unknown, but he is about fifteen years old. Allen was abandoned by his birthparents due to the supposed "deformity" of his left arm (his anti-Akuma weapon) and was adopted by Mana Walker on Christmas. After Mana died, Allen, tortured with grief, turned Mana into an Akuma, thinking that he was truly resurrecting his foster father. The Mana Akuma cursed Allen and sliced through his left eye and left the "Pentacle" - the mark of the Akuma (It is a scar-like mark on Allen's face). It was at this same moment that Allen's left arm first invoked as an anti-Akuma weapon, which instinctively destroyed the Mana Akuma. However, the shock of killing his beloved father turned his hair snow-white. And to this day, his cursed eye allows him to see the bound souls of those trapped inside Akuma. Allen shows signs of having feelings for Linali in the anime and the manga.

As of late, his cursed eye has undergone a change after recovering from a wound inflicted by Road Kamelot. This new form of "Akuma eye" resembles a monocle. Also, it seems that he can control it willingly now and that people around him can also see the souls of the Akuma when it is activated. This leads to Lavi, an exorcist, saying that the way Allen sees the world is hell. His upgraded cursed eye also has the ability to detect any Akuma within a 300 meter range. Allen comments on how his curse evolves similar to how the Akuma evolve. Because his anti-Akuma weapon is a parasite-type, it changes according to his emotions. Because he has a parasite-type weapon, Allen needs to eat for himself and his Innocence so he usually eats a huge quantity of food. Also his anti-Akuma weapon is able to heal his wounds or at least keep them sealed until he gets medical attention. His un-transformed arm has seen two forms as it becomes more synchronised with Allen. It first form appeared like a burn, and connected to his shoulder like a cable cord. His second form appears like a tattoo, and connects to his arm like such. However, when invoked, his weapon covers his whole arm, engulfing his shoulder in green flames. Currently, his anti-Akuma weapon has undergone three transformations:

(from top to bottom) Alpha, Cross Beams, Cross Blade, Gamma
(from top to bottom) Alpha, Cross Beams, Cross Blade, Gamma

- Alpha: The first and most basic form of his Innocence's invocation. In the form of a large claw that covers his entire arm, this form can use the Innocence's power for the "Cross Grave" (十字架ノ墓), a move that destroys a large amount of Level 1 Akuma at once through a series of cross-shaped slash attacks. In the anime, Cross Grave seems to be create crosses on Allen's targets and make them explode, seriously damaging or destroying the target.also able to stretch and grow to nearly limitless sizes.

- Beta : The second form took shape from his rage when an innocence was ripped out of a living doll in volume 2. It functions as a cannon which fires lightsaber-like rod projectiles dubbed the "Cross Beams". But, as stated before, it has a secondary function as close-range melee weapon. The cannon barrel narrows to fashion the Innocence's power into a highly-focused laser rod, dubbed the "Cross Blade," used for cutting. Allen can switch between both Beta forms and Alpha form at will.

- Gamma: The real form of his Innocence. When his weapon was destroyed by a member of the Noah family, Tyki Mikk, it became a fog that followed him until he was able to invocate it. After awhile, Allen has managed to regain control of his anti-Akuma weapon and achieved its fully-invoked form, which has been dubbed the "Crown Clown" (神ノ道化). In this form Allen grows a large white cape and his left arm turns into a slim black claw. In this form of the Innocence, he can use the following techniques:

  • Clown Belt (道化ノ帯): Allen creates a web-like structure with his Innocence to grab or to attack something.
  • Cross Grave (十字架ノ墓): the old technique has also been modified into two forms: an offensive attack (allowing him to easily destroy Level 3 Akuma with one finger) and a defensive mode (creating a shield);
  • Edge End (破滅の爪): which he slashes at his enemies with his claw
  • Crown Edge (爪ノ王輪): to shoot hundreds of projectiles in shape of crowns to cause a major destruction.

[edit] Arystar Krory

(アレイスター・クロウリー Areisutā Kurōrī?)

Arystar Krory
Arystar Krory

Seiyū: Iwata Mitsuo

A man with virtually two split personalities: his soft, kind, overly-emotional side, and his "battle-mode" side. You can easily tell when he switches from personality by his expressions. He is very kind looking at one point with his different colored hair down, but when fighting his eyes become evil looking, veins protrude from his face, making him look like a monster, and his different colored hair sticks up completely. He lived in a castle and was shunned by the surrounding villagers, who believed he was a vampire because he attacked certain villagers, the way he had attacked them and the fact that he has the stereotypical vampire theme. This is because his teeth were made of Innocence and he was instinctively attacking Akuma, but the villagers did not know that (and, before meeting Allen and Lavi, neither did he). Later, he fell in love with Eliade, not knowing that she was an Akuma. Allen and Lavi (who enjoys teasing Krory in a fight by calling him "Kro-chan", and "Krory, Old Bean") later come and recruit him to be an exorcist. He is still getting used to the "outside world."

Innocence activated
Innocence activated

Arystar's innocence resides in his teeth, but the strength is in his blood. It grants him a Feral-type ability. When invoked, it gives him great strength, and the ability to drink the blood of akuma, which can allow himself to regenerate and gives him a temporary increase in strength. He is not immune to Akuma poison, Krory's innocence and body simply break it down (when his body is too weak however, his body cannot fully break down the poison), Krory is also able to remove it from another person by drinking their blood. He can also inoculate his blood on the Akuma, poisoning them and killing them in very few seconds, but this, apparently, weakens him greatly. Taking the commentary of Miranda about the crimson snow that Arystar produced, he named something as "Crimson" (紅). Arystar is also capable of wrapping blood around his hands to fortify the flesh beneath; this is because his innocence allows him to manipulate the blood in his body and, to an extent, others' bodies. He can even detach the blood from his body to make it neigh invulnerable and wield his max strength remotely as a blood mannequin ("Bloody Krory"); It appears that after the usage of this technique he becomes exhausted, much like the blood inoculation (albeit to a greater extent) Instead of using the name of the famous Aleister Crowley, Katsura Hoshino used a name that sounds similar to it. However, in some translations his name is actually "Aleister Crowley."

[edit] Bookman

(ブックマン Bukkuman?)

Bookman
Bookman

Seiyū: Aono Takeshi

An old man who records the hidden history. He comes from the Bookman clan and doesn't have a name. Instead, he simply introduces himself as "bookman" during his first meeting with Allen. Lavi accompanied him when he appeared in the manga. He refers to Allen as "The Destroyer of Time" as he believes that Allen is the only one who can defeat the Earl of Millennium. Bookman also mentions that a "Bookman" does not put himself in the frontline and he just happens to be on the same side as the Black Order. His anti-Akuma weapon is called Heaven Compass (天針), which is a set of acupuncture needles. One of his moves is "Needles of Spells: North Crime" (呪縛の針 「北ノ罪」) which impales the target with thousands of needles. His Innocence can also be used on a defensive technique called "Needles of Divinee Protection: East Crime" (加護の針 「東ノ罪」), making the needles encircle the target and protect it against external attacks. He also has some healing skills through acupuncture.

[edit] Chakar Rabon

(チャーカー・ラボン Chaakā Rabon?)

Chakar Rabon
Chakar Rabon

One of the exorcist in General Winters Sokaro's team who was killed by Tyki Mikk. In volume 5, Suman had a nightmare about seeing Kazanna and his corpses. His anti-akuma weapon was a cross-bow.

Considering that his weapon was a cross bow, it is possible that Chakar was the exorcist who destroyed the little girl akuma in episode 25 from one of General Yeegar's flash backs.

[edit] Cloud Nine

(クラウド・ナイン Kuraudo Nain?)

Exorcist General Cloud Nine
Exorcist General Cloud Nine

She is one of the Generals. Her team (Tina Spark, Gwen Frere and Sol Galen) was also killed by Tiki Mikk. She seems to be a gentle woman as she is seen weeping for her deceased team. One half of her face is covered by hair, and the other side has burn scars. Little is known about her and the little monkey that rides her shoulder.

[edit] Cross Marian

(クロス・マリアン Kurosu Marian?)

Exorcist General Cross Marian
Exorcist General Cross Marian

Seiyū: Tōchi Hiroki

Allen's teacher, a scientist, and also one of the five Exorcist Generals. Currently, he has gone on a journey and has stopped corresponding with HQ for four years. Allen fears him, which is hinted from the fact most of his flashbacks that connect to his teacher end with some kind of traumatizing (usually humorous for readers) experience. He also has a habit of going into debt and making Allen work it off for him. It is revealed by Bookman that Cross has the unique ability to convert Akuma, making them to work under his orders. The method of conversion is unknown though. Beside that, it's believed that Marian has the ability to control the Noah's Ark (an ability granted to him by a traitor of the Noah family, who was subsequently killed by the Earl), although it's unknown if this hypothesis of the Earl will turn out to be correct. Marian seems to be the only person the Earl is seriously worried about.

On a separate note, Marian has not been seen using his Anti-Akuma Weapon, but it could be highly likely that his Anti-Akuma Weapon grants him the ability to convert Akuma, since Innocence are the only thing effective against Akuma.

[edit] Daisya Barry

(デイシャ・バリー Deisha Barī?)

Daisya Barry
Daisya Barry

An exorcist from Bodrum who, despite his love of playing pranks on the other members of the order (i.e. using his Innocence to crack Tiedoll's glasses), was described by Tiedoll as "a good kid." He was a disciple of Tiedoll and was on his rescue team along with Yu Kanda and Noise Marie. His anti-akuma weapon was a projectile ball which was wielded much like a soccer ball called the "Charity Bell" (隣人ノ鐘). The Charity Bell was capable of easily destroying Akuma level 2 by resonating inside the Akuma's body. While on his mission to find General Tiedoll, he encountered Tyki Mikk and was found the next morning hung in an upside-down cross fashion from a streetlamp, missing an internal organ and the Charity Bell. His design appears to have been inspired by court jesters of the European Middle Ages. His name is sometimes translated as Deesha Berry.

[edit] Froi Tiedoll

(フロワ・ティエドール Furowa Tiedōru?)

Exorcist General Froi Tiedoll
Exorcist General Froi Tiedoll

One of the 5 Generals, along with Cross Marian, Kevin Yeegar, Winters Sokaro and Cloud Nine. He seems to be a very normal man behind his glasses, with artistic talents and a sensible side. He is very loyal to his work and he refuses the order to go back to Black Order main base. His team is now following him in his duties and is composed of Yu Kanda, Noise Marie and Daisya Barry (killed by Tyki Mikk). They are in Japan right now, where his innocence was revealed, "Maker of Eden" (楽園ノ彫刻). He draws a long crucifix and energy shield, creating a work of "art" from the ground which, in turn, spawns a large creature. The spelling of his surname is often mistaken as "Theodore", however, his name is officially "Tiedoll", according to Hoshino (Volume 6). Oddly enough, even though VIZ media has begun to use official romanizations for names, they kept Tiedoll's name incorrectly translated as "Theodore".

[edit] Gwen Frere

(グエン・フレール Guen Fureeru?)

One of the exorcists in General Cloud Nine's team who was killed by Tyki Mikk. Not much information are known about her. She was never seen.

[edit] Hevlaska

(ヘブラスカ Heburasuka?)

Hevlaska
Hevlaska

Seiyū: Kaida Yuko

Hevlaska (or Hebraska), also called Guardian of the Innocence, is an Exorcist who has a major role in Black Order, being a part of the Organization since its very beginning. Hevlaska, has its body completely enveloped by its Innocence that seems to be indefinitely active. Its abilities consist of merging some tentacles of its body into other Exorcists' bodies and Innocences. This way, it can know their nature - even if an Innocence is the Heart -, abilities, synchronization percentage and hidden potential. Its personality is calm and gentle, almost maternal (which can suggest Hevlaska is actually a woman, which is later revealed as true when Komui states Hevlaska's gender to Allen. In episode 6 of the anime, Lenalee says that Hevlaska is female). The name "Hebraska" is used in VIZ media's English translations for volumes one and two. Allusions are made that the Innocence it carries is actually the Innocence Cube.

[edit] Kazanna Reed

(カザーナ・リド Kazāna Rido?)

Kazana Reed
Kazana Reed

One of the exorcists in General Winters Sokaro's team who was also killed by Tyki Mikk. In volume 5, his comrade Suman had a nightmare of seeing Chaker and Kazanna's corpses. His anti-akuma weapon was a European-style sword.

[edit] Kevin Yeegar

(ケビン・イェーガー Kebin Yēgā?)

Former Exorcist General Kevin Yeegar
Former Exorcist General Kevin Yeegar

Seiyū: Kawakubo Kiyoshi

The oldest of the five Generals. He was also the first General targeted by the Noah and defeated, mutilated, and crucified upside down on a cross barely alive by Tyki Mikk, who also stole his Innocence. He went insane after the fight and was rambling on about "The Heart" (the Heart of all Innocence) and how the Earl was searching for it; he died not long after due to his injuries. In the anime, it is shown that his anti-akuma weapon is a pair of chained pendulums. The anime also revealed that yeegar worked as a teacher before becoming an exorcist

[edit] Lavi

(ラビ Rabi?)

Lavi
Lavi

Seiyū: Suzumura Kenichi

A red-haired Exorcist of mixed race, who aims to become a Bookman and is working along the Black Order just to be close to the events that must be seen. To help him, he developed an incredible memory: able to memorize every single aspect of something he saw, but he commented that he could identify "the key" (the key which Tiki Mikk gave) faster if he were to use both his eyes when sieving out the real "key" from the fake (chapter 101). He is 18 years old, and normally uses his left eye. His anti-Akuma weapon is a size-shifting hammer, which he calls "Ōdzuchi Kodzuchi" (大槌小槌) or called "Nyoibo". It can grow (満, man) or extend (伸, shin). His hammer can also summon several "judgments" with kanji possibly representing the classical elements that can be used individually or combined. However, between each letter is a question mark. This means Lavi either has more attacks that he hasn't learned or that he doesn't know that he had the attack all together. It was shown when Bookman told Lavi to use the wood seal to clear the clouds (Three Akuma were hiding behind the clouds). Lavi stated that he forgot he could use it to affect nature directly, and as he remembered it the question mark turned into a kanji that he used right away. His techniques so far, are:

  • Gouka Kaijin: Ki Ban (劫火灰燼 火判, lit. Conflagration of Ash: Fire Seal): using the fire seal to create a torrent of flames with the form of a snake;
  • Raitei Kaiten: Ten Ban (雷霆回天 天判, lit. Thundering Lightning Whirling in the Skies: Heaven Seal): using the heaven seal to liberate an immense lightning;
  • Tenchi Bankai: Moku Ban (天地盤回 木判, lit. Roots Entwining Heaven and Earth: Wood Seal): using the wood seal to control objects in nature;
  • Conbo Ban: Gouraiten (コンボ判 剛雷天, lit. Combo Seal: Strong Thunder of the Heavens) :using both fire and heaven seals to create a huge snake of fire and iron.

The marks of water and earth also appear among his seals. He likes to call Bookman "Panda" due to the thick black circles around his eyes, a converted Akuma "Chomesuke", and Arystar "Kro-chan". He is the only character to call Kanda by his given name (that name being Yu, also translated as Yū or Yuu), and apparently speaks to him outside of missions, a fact that was shown when he called Allen "beansprout" (モヤシ, moyashi), saying that if Kanda could call him that, Lavi could as well, as he is the same age as Kanda.

[edit] Lenalee Lee

(リナリー・リー Rinarī Rī?)

Lenalee Lee
Lenalee Lee

Seiyū: Itō Shizuka

Komui's younger sister, and assistant Head Officer. She is Chinese, and 16 years old. Her parents were killed by an Akuma when she was very young. Because she is an Accommodator, the Black Order took her away from her only remaining family member (Komui) to Headquarters against her will. For three years she was never allowed to leave the place, which felt like a prison to her. Because she attempted suicide, she had to be restrained and tied to her bed. However, once Komui joined the Black Order, Lenalee became more at ease in the Black Order. She once told Allen that her "world" consists of her friends and family; if something terrible ever happened to them, she would be devastated.

She is an Exorcist whose anti-Akuma weapon is a pair of boots, "Dark Boots" (黒い靴). That, when invoked increases one's speed and strength greatly in the legs. Her boots allow her to use the following techniques:

  • Onkyou no Tougi: Otokase (音響の踏技 「音枷」, lit. Step Skill of Sound: "Sound Shackles"): to turn the sound waves solid upon her feet and run at sonic speed through the air;
  • Suijou no Tougi: Mizukase (水上の踏技 「水枷」, lit. Stepping Skill on the Water: "Water Shacles"): to walk perfectly on water surface;
  • Enbu: Kirikaze (円舞「霧風」, Waltz: "Mist-Wind"): to create a destructive tornado spinning her body;
  • Shittsui no Tougi: Tetsukase (失墜の踏技 「鉄枷」, lit. Falling Footwork: "Iron Shackles"): that condenses the energy to unite the Dark Boots on a very heavy and complexe estruture with blades while in maximum invocation.

She has a strong sense of friendship, which sometimes causes her emotional pain (or causes her to fight with Allen). Bak (of the Black Order's Asia Headquarters) is stalking her.

Her hair started out long in the beginning of the series, but due to a battle at sea it has been reduced to an extremely short and unkempt manner. She also surpassed the extent of her anti-Akuma weapons power, thus causing her to lose her Dark Boots. As the series progresses, signs of deeper feelings for Allen become more apparent than before.

Her name is spelled 'Linali Lee' in VIZ Media's translation (In the midst of volume three, however, it changed to Lenalee, then occasionally switched back to Linali).

[edit] Miranda Lotto

(ミランダ・ロットー Miranda Rottō?)

Miranda Lotto
Miranda Lotto
Miranda Lotto during her depression
Miranda Lotto during her depression

Seiyū: Toyoguchi Megumi

A woman whose clock caused time to rewind in her town, which all started when she was able to connect to the Innocence within the clock. She is German, and 25 years old. She often feels inferior and useless, which causes her to be fired from all 100 jobs she tried to work in. This contributes to her chronic depression. With the help of Allen and Lenalee, she became determined to be a useful Exorcist. Her weapon is a disk called "Time Record" (刻盤), located on her right arm. It can use the ability called "Recovery" (時間回復) to setup a time zone where anything on it will recover and heal automatically. However, the power is only temporary, once Miranda stops her power, all damage suffered earlier will return, as well as those suffered during the time that she used her Innocence. It does not bring the dead back to life. Time Record can also be used as a defensive weapon with the technique "Time Out" (時間停止) which create a space where the time stops, negating any attack that comes into that. She has replaced Allen during their search for General Cross.

[edit] Noise Marie

(ノイズ・マリ Noizu Mari?)

Noise Marie
Noise Marie

One of the Exorcists from Tiedoll's group. Noise Marie seems to be a tough, silent man. His innocence, "Noel Organon" (聖人ノ詩篇), gives him an incredibly strong hearing, allowing Marie to hear very low or very distant sounds. It can also be used in an offensive form like in the technique called "Melody of Grief" (嘆きの旋律) which forms strings used to capture a victim and conduct a music that can paralyze easily even the stronger Akuma like a very strong poison.

[edit] Sol Galen

(ソル・ガレン Soru Garen?)

One of the exorcists in General Cloud Nine's team who were also killed by Tyki Mikk. Not much information are known about him. He was never seen.

[edit] Suman Dark

(スーマン・ダーク Sūman Dāku?)

Suman Dark
Suman Dark

An exorcist who joined the order so he could pay for his daughter's medical fees. He, like Allen, has a parasite-type anti-Akuma weapon, which takes the form of a gem-like stone near his thumb (his invoked form is never seen). After five years on the organization, he was sent on a mission to find General Winters Sokaro. During the mission, in India, his team was attacked and destroyed by Tyki Mikk. Suman who loved his daughter so dearly refuses to die and leave her, to which end he offered to do anything for Tyki Mikk in exchange for his life. Hence, Tyki Mikk asked for the conditions and the whereabouts of all the Exorcists and the Search Group, this resulted in the death of 142 members of the Search Group and 6 Exorcists. He fled from the battle field, he begged evil to spare his life, he betrayed his Innocence, he betrayed god. For that he was judged by his Innocence and become a togaōchi (fallen one). This causes the innocence to constantly deteriorate his body. After becoming a togaōchi, Allen separated Suman's Innocence from him which reverted his togaōchi condition. Although Allen managed save Suman's life, Suman's mind however died. Not long after he reverted from his togaōchi condition, he was killed by Tyki Mikk using Tease(a flesh-eating type of golem in the form of a butterfly).

[edit] Tina Spark

(ティナ・スパーク Tīna Supāku?)

One of the exorcists in General Cloud Nine's team who was killed by Tyki Mikk. Not much information are known about her. She was never seen.

[edit] Winters Sokaro

(ウィンターズ・ソカロ Wintāzu Sokaro?)

Exorcist General Winters Sokaro
Exorcist General Winters Sokaro

He is one of the Exorcist Generals. His whole team (Kazaana Reed, Chaka Labon and Suman Dark) was killed by Tyki Mikk at approximately the same time, with the exception of Suman, who was turned into a togaōchi and killed later by Tyki's Tease. He is a harsh man who wears a metal mask on his head. He is rude and when talking about his deceased team, refers to them as "a bunch of loser dogs". Whether this was really out of disrespect is unknown, or if was a form denial or grief. It could also be taken as a metaphor. Nothing more is known about him.

[edit] Yu Kanda

(神田 ユウ Kanda Yū?)

Yu Kanda
Yu Kanda

Seiyū: Sakurai Takahiro

An 18 year old Exorcist from Japan. He can recover much faster than ordinary humans due to a mysterious tattoo above his heart (which looks like a Hinduism seal), and it is related to a flower sealed in a hourglass that was said when wilted, will kill Kanda with it. His purpose in life is to find "that someone"; until then, he will never allow himself to die. So far, it has lost two petals, but is otherwise still robust. He seems to be able to withstand the blood of Akuma, most likely due to the tattoo above his heart. The hourglass and flower is said to be his only personal possession. He was grudgingly partners with Allen in Allen's first mission. He has long black hair (blue in the anime), washed by soap. The mangaka commented that Kanda is a "pretty type character" (he was also often mistaken for a girl when he first appeared, but looks more masculine after Hoshino changed her drawing style since around chapter 80), and Allen even called him "Feminine face" etc. (The anime character design, it should be noted, looked more masculine from the beginning.) However, he has a rough tongue, foul mouth and a cold manner, and tends to say "Tch" a lot. Yu is Kanda's given name, but he dislikes being called that. He calls Allen "bean sprout" (モヤシ, moyashi), because compared to him, Allen is somewhat short and of a slight build, not to mention Kanda is older. Kanda's favorite foods are soba noodles and tempura (Especially pumpkin and shishitou, a kind of small green pepper). Kanda dislikes so many things to the point that "there are too many to write down". But it is a known fact that he hates people with a naive personality (Allen), people who can't keep their mouths shut, General Tiedoll, people calling him by his given name, and "sweet things" (though it is unknown whether he means "sweet" as in food, or "sweet" as in naive, as the term for "sweet" and "naive" are the same in Japanese). His anti-Akuma weapon is a black katana, "Mugen" (六幻), which turns silver when activated. "Mugen" means "six illusions". He has shown three illusions so far:

  • Kaichū: Ichigen (界蟲「一幻」, lit. First Illusion: World of Insects): which releases a small swarm of supernatural creatures to devour his opponents.
  • Nigentou (二幻刀, lit. Two Illusion Blades): covers his sword in a coat of energy while creating an energy blade, making two impossibly sharp weapons.
    • Hakka Tourou (八花蟷螂, lit. Eight Flowers Praying Mantis): Using the Ningentou, Kanda makes a movement that quickly slash the enemy eight times. The slashs, together, reminds a flower;
    • Shouka (昇華, lit. Sublimate): Activating the power of his tattoo, his pupil changes into three dots. After this, he can activate the Kinki Sangenshiki;
  • Kinki Sangenshiki (禁忌 「三幻式」, lit. Taboo Three Illusions): drastically increases his speed and strength at the cost of some of his life.

As the sword is called "Mugen" (六幻) and "六" means six, it is speculated that there will be three more attacks. It could also that the 6 in the name is added to make a phonetic misinterpretation of the name possible: Mugen written as "無限" means "infinity".

After an intense fight, he defeated Skin Boric, but apparently at the cost of a part of his life and lost his anti-akuma weapon after the battle. It was confirmed that this is not the end of him being an exorcist due to the fact that even when his weapon broke he still had another attack and he also used his energy to combine the broken pieces of his sword to make a new one.

[edit] Headquarters

[edit] Buzz

(バズ Bazu?)

Buzz
Buzz

Seiyū: Sonobe Yoshinori

A Finder that is stationed at Headquarters. He and other Finders were performing a memorial service to their fallen comrades, right behind where Kanda was eating. When Kanda expressed his loss of appetite, Buzz demanded an apology. However, Kanda beat him up and began strangling him. Allen then stepped in to stop the whole charade. He is a tall, burly man with many markings on his face and a bald head. Despite his appearance, he appears to be sensitive about his fallen colleagues. He appeared in the Leaf of Revival arc.

[edit] Jeryy

(ジェリー Jerī?)

Jeryy
Jeryy

Seiyū: Takuma Suzuki

The Head Cook of the Black Order. He is Indian, and of unknown age. Although male, he is very motherly. When first introduced they put a male symbol next to his name to make sure readers knew that he was actually a man. In a one-time page of various characters that had under various circumstances come to work for Jeryy, Arystar Krory was shown with a text bubble that stated "Asked Jeryy if he was gay" under his head. He is stated to be Komui's best friend, and gets along with Lenalee.

[edit] Johnny

(ジャンー Janī?)

Johnny
Johnny

Seiyū: Tsuboi Tomohiro

Johnny is one of the seemingly younger members of the Science Department. He is often identified by the black skull on his shirt and his big glasses. He was one of Suman's friends; he was the only one who knew that Suman was lonely. Because their rooms where so close together, they would often play chess together, in which Johnny would win most of the time. Whenever Suman would lose, he would ignore Johnny the next time they met in the cafeteria but always asked Johnny to a game whenever he returned from missions. When he found out that Suman was dying, his face became dominated by tears and heartbroken sorrow. The manga also highlighted his presence in panels, making this particular scene one of the more emotional scenes of the series.

[edit] Komui Lee

(コムイ・リー Komui Rī?)

Komui Lee
Komui Lee

Seiyū: Konishi Katsuyuki

The Head Officer of the Black Order, and Lenalee's older brother. He is the self-proclaimed "Head Officer of the Science Department", though it is technically impossible, as the official leader of the Science Department is elsewhere. Komui likes this title because he was originally the head of the Science Department, and still participates in the department's activities (even though he slacks off most of the time). Komui even claimed that "Everyone's treating me like a slave, getting me to do so much work", and uses "I stayed up last night" as an excuse to sleep during work, even though Reever and the other members of the Science Department stay up late too. He is Chinese, and 29 years old. He can always be found being busy, but often goofs off and does not do work. He loves coffee, and inventing things that'll make his work easier (including making Komrin II), and is an all-around weird person. Allen is mostly scared of his repairing abilities. He is not an exorcist and only does desk work. However, he'll do anything to avoid work. He is frightfully overprotective of his younger sister. He always wakes up when somebody says, "Lenalee's going to get married" (it's really the only way to wake him up). He is deathly afraid of losing her, and the reason he first joined the Black Order was to stay with his sister. The two had been separated for a long period of time when the Black Order discovered Lenalee was compatible with Innocence. Though he acts comical and goofy most of the time, Komui has shown signs of guilt and depression over the deaths of his exorcist comrades on multiple occasions, along with signs of great intelligence and wisdom. According to the author, this character is patterned after her editor Yoshida. He wears slippers because, should he wear shoes, his feet stink, and Lenalee won't come near him. He worked hard to work his way to the top of the Science Department for his sister Lenalee. He and she appear to be telepathically linked somehow, as Lenalee knows when Komui is sleeping (even when she's thousands of miles away), and Komui collapsed when Lenalee was being drowned by Eshi (which caused him to drop his favorite coffee mug).

[edit] Reever Wenhamm

(リーバー・ウェンハム Rībā Wenhamu?)

Reever Wenhamm
Reever Wenhamm

Seiyū: Okiayu Ryōtarō

In charge of the Science department of the Black Order, therefore he is technically the "boss" of the science department, but still carries out Komui's orders (though he does protest). He is Australian, and 26 years old. He works under Komui. He is a very comical character, being the main helper of Komui, and is often distressed over the fact that he works under such a weird man. He is a character in the game Jump Superstars. His name was translated to Riba in volumes one and two of the English manga. Also, in at least one scanlation his name has been translated as River. Reever dislikes tobacco and alcohol, so he drinks various soft drinks, and he specializes in mathematics, physics and language.

[edit] Toma

(トマ Toma?)

Toma
Toma

Seiyū: Sakaguchi Koichi

A Finder that accompanies Allen and Kanda to their mission in Matel. During the mission, Pierrot (the Level 2 Akuma) impersonates him and gave the Finder the fake Allen's skin. Because of the fake disguise, Toma is almost killed by Kanda but is saved by Allen. When he was severely injured during the mission, Toma begged Allen to leave him behind so that the mission could be completed. Toma also appears in "The Destruction of the Black Order Headquarters" arc, but does not appear after that. Little else is known about this Finder. In the anime, he is also seen waiting for Lenalee and Allen outside of the Rewinding City. He has a small tuft of hair on top of his head.

[edit] Tapp Dopp

Seiyū: Tanaka Kan

A member of the Science department of the Black Order. He is slightly large and has a tuft of hair on his head. In the beginning, he had bandages covering his eyes, but he has also been seen with a hat covering his eyes.

[edit] Asia Branch

[edit] Bak Chan

(バク・チャン Baku Chan?)

Bak Chan
Bak Chan

Bak is the leader of the Black Order's Asia Branch, a post occupied also by his great-grandfather (and perhaps the other generations of his family). He seems to be a rival of Komui, but doesn't let him (or anyone else) know about his secret crush on Lenalee, and this fact was used by Allen to threaten him so he would open the door. Like Komui, he is a man completely aware of his duties and will follow God's will strictly. Bak is the smartest person in the Order after Komui, and respects Komui because of that fact (though he seems to have been jealous of Komui before). Even not being a Conformer, he is able to do some spells controlling the structure of the headquarters thanks to the seal of his great-grandfather. Acting as the member of the branch, he is a a bit cold and very responsible leader, but as a human he is very soft and tender. Despite his crush on Lenalee, he and Fou have a very close relationship that seems to be more than merely friendship. It's said his intellect is a triumph of the Asia Branch. Because he was raised like a prince, Bak refers to himself as Ore-sama (something like "Divine Me" in English) when he is angry (more specifically, angry at Fou), but otherwise he usually calls himself boku (A more formal way for males to refer to himself); Fou refers to him as Baka-Baku (Idiot-Bak). If he gets very agitated, numerous hives appear on his skin (especially if someone refers to his secret love towards Lenalee). His hives also appeared when he was forced to lock Fou into a room to fight Thread, and he even cried without his own knowing, proving that he cares greatly about her (though maybe not as much as his love towards Lenalee). Bak eventually opened the door.

[edit] Fou

(フォー ?)

Fou
Fou

Fou is the guardian deity of the Black Order's Asia Branch, sealed by Bak's great-grand father. Although she is not a human, she often takes a humanoid form to talk with others. Fou found Allen's body after his attack by Tyki Mikk and took him the headquarters of Asia Branch. She has a "tough-love" attitude particularly towards Allen. While she was training Allen in an attempt to bring back his Innocence, she would attack without mercy with the hope that the exorcist would activate his Innocence. When Allen was feeling down, she would appear to him as someone else (this way she could show her soft side without Allen knowing).

She shares a very strong bond with Bak even though she loves to tease him. She can manipulate her form in order to gain axe hands or to copy someone's appearance. She is also capable of communicating telepathically with others. The Headquarters of the Asia Branch is protected by a very strong barrier created by Fou (who is the "entrance" of the barrier). Inside the shell, she is very caring and is willing to give her life for the sake of those she loves.

[edit] Lou Fa

(蝋花 Rou Fa?)

Lou Fa
Lou Fa

A young woman stationed at the Asia Headquarters. She is part of the Science Department and seems to be very shy. She blushes everytime she gets close to Allen since she has developed a crush on him. She watched Allen's training along with Rikei and prevented a frustrated Fou from killing Allen on an occasion.

[edit] Rikei

(李佳 Rikei?)

Rikei
Rikei

A member of the Black Order stationed at the Asia Headquarters. He was the one who carried Allen when the bonds between his atoms were weakened by the Akuma's attack. He also tried to restrain Allen (with help from Wong) when Bak shut Fou in the same room as the above mentioned Akuma (mentioned in Bak's biography). Rikei seems to be a cheerful person, and greatly desires to become part of the Science Department of the Main Headquarters of the Black Order.

[edit] Samo Han Wong

(サモ・ハン・ウォン Samo Han Won?)

Wong
Wong

Wong is the Chief Minister of the Black Order's Asia Branch and part of the Science Department there. He seems to be the right-hand man of Bak and was sent by him to take Miranda to the group of Exorcists searching for General Marian Cross. He is very loyal to the order and Bak and is "responsible" to restrain him when he is attacked by Fou for no apparent reason. He also is a bit emotional and gets desperate easily, even crying at one point. Wong is the one who replaced Allen with Miranda in the search for Cross.

[edit] Shifu

(シィフ Sīfu?)

Shifu
Shifu

Shifu is an apprentice of the Science Department at the Asia Base along with Rikei and Lou Fa.

[edit] Other Black Order members

[edit] 65

65
65

Seiyū: Chiba Isshin

A ghost-shaped thing that appears to work with the Headquarters' Science Department. It has bandages over its mouth and the number "65" on its head. In Vol.4 Chapter 65 was seen flying with two other ghost creatures. But in episode 18, we see what is underneath his taped mouth. He has very sharp teeth and has no lips. But let it be noted that that certain episode was a filler.

[edit] Alestina Drow Joanason P. Robathan Gia Amadeus V

Alestina
Alestina

As the fifth Gatekeeper, this giant face guards the gate of the Black Order's headquarters. He judged Allen to be an Akuma because of the pentagram on his forehead. This mistake causes Kanda to attack Allen and damage his anti-Akuma weapon. He breaks into hives whenever he is touched. Another incident occurred in the anime, when he judged Krory, who had pentacles in his blood from all the akuma blood he drank. This caused Komui to send Komurin IV after him.

[edit] Komurin I

(コムリンI Komurin I?)

Komurin I
Komurin I

One of Komui's inventions that was invented for the sole purpose of making the work load of The Order's science department easier. This Komurin was destroyed by Kanda because the first model was eating his soba and Kanda got very furious. Even though Komurin I was a manga character, it was seen only once in the anime, but was mentioned in the novel.

[edit] Komurin II

(コムリンII Komurin II?)

Komurin II
Komurin II

Like Komurin I, Komurin II is one of Komui's inventions that was invented for the sole purpose of making the work load of The Order's science department easier. Unfortunately, Komurin II took some of Komui's coffee and drank it, which then sent it hay-wire. During which, it went after the Exorcists (Lenalee and Allen in particular) in order to make them "stronger" (It once suggested surgically altering Lenalee's figure to make her more buff). After capturing Allen, it was destroyed by Lenalee's Dark Boots. VIZ's translation called it "Komlin". Komurin I was only seen in the anime, though he was mentioned in the manga. Komurin has little robot Komui inside of him. In the manga, Komurin II is presumed destroyed, but makes a reappearance in the anime only episode Lenalee's love, still looking badly damaged from its last appearance. After that it was compleately destroyed.

[edit] Timcanpy

(ティムキャンピー Timukyanpī?)

Timcanpy
Timcanpy

Exorcist General Cross Marian's golem which has the abilities to record video and track down enemies. Cross gave his apprentice the golem to be his "representative" to the Black Order so Allen can become an official exorcist. Since then it has been Allen's travelling companion. He seems to change in size in different points of the story and is speculated that the reason may be based on how close it is to its former master. The author named him after a silver brand called "Tim Campi Design". VIZ Media's English translations actually spell the golem's name as "Timcampi" in the first two volumes, but in volume 3 it is changed to the correct spelling of "Timcanpy". Timcanpy also has the ability to detect converted akuma's (changed akumas that work for Cross).

[edit] Wireless Golem

A wireless golem
A wireless golem

Bat like golems that allow wireless communication. Using these, exorsists can contact finders or members at headquarters. Unlike Timcanpy, these golems don't have anything other then the wireless connection feature, and act as cell phones instead of familiars. Some have triangular bodies, though most have spherical ones.
