Below is a list of the neighbourhoods and suburbs of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

The list is organized by the municipalities in which the each neighborhood or a suburb is located.

The City of Belgrade consists of 17 municipalities, of which 10 are urban and 7 suburban. Six of the 10 urban municipalities are completely within part of the Belgrade City proper, while four have both urban and suburban parts.

Municipalities of the City of Belgrade are divided into local communities (Serbian: месна заједница/mesna zajednica). These sometimes correspond to the neighborhoods, but in don't in most cases. Their boundaries often change as the communities merge with each other or changing names, etc, in order to allow the historical and traditional neighborhoods to survive.

In the majority of cases, especially in the old urban areas of Belgrade, the neighborhoods don't have firm, geographical or administrative boundaries. This sometimes causes confusion even among Belgraders, as many have different views on where one neighborhood ends and the other one begins. These include:

  • boundaries shaped through history, in many cases overlapping (Palilula-Hadžipopovac-Profesorska Kolonija)
  • sub-neighborhoods or parts of a larger neighborhood (Čukarica-Banovo Brdo-Čukarička Padina)
  • different names for the same areas (Englezovac-Savinac-Vračar)
  • neighborhoods of the same name stretching outside their own municipalities (sometimes even with the same name: extreme west of the neighborhood of Palilula (Jevremovac) belongs to the municipality of Stari Grad, not the municipality of Palilula)
  • some are completely located in another municipality (Selo Rakovica is located in the municipality of Voždovac, not in the municipality of Rakovica)
  • inhabitants of one neighborhood, even though geographically belonging to one area, consider themselves inhabitants of another (Bežanija-Bežanijski Blokovi).
