[edit] Highest Rating Programs

Australia showed its passion for sport with the five highest sport programs being related to the AFL, NRL and the Melbourne Cup. The actual highest rating program of the year was the Australian Open Men's Final aired by the Seven Network, attracting 4.04 million viewers. The Australian Open however aired during the summer non-ratings period and as a result is excluded from the official rankings. Another notable result was the FIFA World Cup Qualifier: Australia V Uruguay which attracted 2.48 million viewers, giving SBS its highest ratings in the history of the station.
