[edit] Talk:Tupac_Shakur#Spreading_Tupac.27s_ashes_in_South_Africa_.28again.29
Thanks for telling me about this; fascinating stuff I had not heard before. I agree with you and have edited the article to conform with WP:V. Of course, you're lucky I'm speaking to you at all, as I see you've nicked my idea with the flags, and worse, you put England down but not the much nicer country to the north.... (joking!) Best wishes --Guinnog 09:59, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for changing your flag boxes so promptly. I did say I was only joking! You are right that we have a great drinking culture here though. I see you are from Cape Town; I had some great pints there in the late 1980s. I particularly remember a lovely wee brew pub in George (or was it Knysna?). Long time ago; I wonder if it still exists... --Guinnog 10:29, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] South Africa
Rather than delete a sourced quote from the London Times, why not bring in a counter quote to prove your assertion that the London Times author is a racist. Deleting a quote because you dont agree with the author is not a very intellectual or neutral action. There are hundreds of quotes in wikipedia articles i "dont like", but i have never removed one sourced quote. This subject does not seem a happy one in South Africa, but censorship doesnt seem like the answer. regards Joan-of-arc 18:58, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] UCT userbox
I like it. Thanks! - htonl 14:15, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, "Ikey". You are probably aware of the traditional rivalry between UCT and Stellenbosch University. The apparent origin of the Ikey nickname was from the 1910s as an anti-semitic slur ("Ike" or "Ikey" apparently being a common derogatory nickname for Jews) based on Stellenbosch students' perception that there were a lot of Jewish students at UCT. This nickname was then picked up by UCT students and turned around into a nickname they used themselves. There's an article here which explains "Ikey" and "Matie" in a bit more detail. - htonl 20:24, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh ok, I see what you mean there. Thanks. --Adriaan90 14:18, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Boer Murder
I used PROD because it normally takes quicker and is less hassle than AfD or RfD, and for no other reason. If its better procedurally to do it via RfD then rather do so. Cheers! Zunaid 14:32, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
