Signatures in Wikipedia are what you put after writing a comment on a talk page. This can be done by writing ~~~~. Maybe you have seen signatures on talk pages with lots of colors and links. Here is how to do that: First (optional), you have to get an external editor. Open your favourite editor, such as Frontpage or Nvu and put in some text and color; format it and put links in it by adding brackets [[ ]]. Then select it and go to the source code (typically by seleciting the HTML or Source tab) and copy the code of your text into a Wikipedia:User_page#What_about_user_subpages.user sub-page. Be sure not to copy the tags at the beginning and end of the code that say <p> </p>, if they exist. Then go to your preferences and put this: {{subst:User:Example/sub page}} into the Nickname field. Check the box that says "Raw signature" and save your preferences. Now you're done! Just type four tildes ~~~~ in a talk page and your new signature will appear
