Linux Foundation

The Linux Foundation (LF) is a non-profit consortium supporting the growth of the Linux operating system. It was officially announced on January 21, 2007 as a merger of the Open Source Development Labs and the Free Standards Group. It is an organization which "accelerates the growth of Linux by providing a comprehensive set of services to compete effectively with closed platforms."[1]
