Link River

The Link River is a short river in Oregon that connects Upper Klamath Lake to Lake Ewauna. There is one dam along the river's two mile length. The dam, a reinforced concrete slab structure, regulates the water levels in Klamath Lake, the principal supply of irrigation water to the Klamath Project.

Before settlers came to the Klamath Basin, the Link River was known to the local Klamaths as Yulalona, meaning "back and forth." During strong winds, the water would be blown northward into the lake, leaving the riverbed dry.
The Oregon city of Klamath Falls was originally named "Linkville" after George Nurse founded the town in 1867 where the Link River drains into Lake Ewauna.
