A Link, also called a Gunter’s link, is a unit of length in the Imperial system. It is equal to 0.01 chain, or 7.92 inches in the Imperial system. A link is equal to 20.1168 centimeters or 0.201168 meter in the SI system.
The link unit was based on Gunter's measurement where a metal chain consisting of 100 links was used to measure land area.
Links were commonly used in surveying property in the English-speaking world before the 20th century, but are now rarely used.
Link is usually abbreviated as l., li. or lnk.
