Lindi St Clair

Lindi St Clair (real name Marian June, born August 1952, London [1]) is a late 20th century British prostitute. She was also known as Miss Whiplash, and has used other similar aliases. Despite being a lesbian, she entered into two marriages of convenience in 1995 and 1999.

She accused the Inland Revenue of trying to live off immoral earnings when they asked her to pay income tax, because they classed prostitution as a trade. Similarly, she tried to set up a company to avoid paying income tax on her 'earnings'. This was initially refused by the Registrar of Companies, but later accepted. The Attorney General subsequently had the company's registration cancelled on the grounds that a contract for immoral services is void and unlawful.

She tried to get elected to the House of Commons, standing for The Corrective Party in nine by-elections. Her bankruptcy in 1992 disqualified her from standing for parliament again.

In the 1990s, she left her successful dungeon in Blackheath, London, and moved to a farm in rural Risbury, Herefordshire, where she still lives, raising ducks, geese, chickens and rabbits.
