Lincoln Park is one of Duluth's larger and older neighborhoods. It is situated between Garfield Avenue to the ore docks at Carlton Street/34th Avenue West. The neighborhood stretches up the hill to Skyline Parkway. Duluthians have traditionally called the neighborhood the "West End". "Lincoln Park" also refers to a large park within the neighborhood.

The main road arteries in the neighborhood are U.S. 53 / Piedmont Avenue, 24th Avenue West and Michigan, Superior, First, and Third Streets. Third Street had a road construction makeover in 2006 and U.S. 53 / Piedmont Avenue had a road construction makeover in 2004. Both of these completed road projects have enhanced the neighborhood.

At the time of the 2000 census, Lincoln Park had a population of 6,504, representing an 8.9% decline from the 1990 census (the largest decrease in any of Duluth's neighborhood districts) with a total area of 1,954 acres, or 5% of Duluth's total land space. A portion of that land is devoted to industrial and commercial uses, and the city's "trucking district" lies in the western part of the neighborhood. Like many other neighborhoods in the city, Lincoln Park has its own business district, which stretches along Michigan, Superior, and First Streets from 17th to 22nd Avenues West.
