[edit] Media Spotlight

Federal officers were sent to arrest Theodore Kaczynski on April 3, 1996, at his remote cabin outside Lincoln. He was later revealed the infamous "Unabomber", a political terrorist who had murdered numerous people through pressure-sensitive bombs placed inside mail packages. For a time, Lincoln was featured heavily in the world news and the small town was completely overrun by media personnel.

Lincoln was featured in the 1999 film The Insider, although the city the producers used to portray Lincoln was completely inaccurate. It shows Lincoln as having numerous city streets and tall buildings. In reality, only one central road runs through Lincoln and the tallest structure in the small forest town is only two stories.
