Lin Chi-ling

Lin Chi-ling (Chinese: 林志玲; pinyin: Lín Zhìlíng, born November 29, 1974, in Taipei, Taiwan), is one of the Taiwan's top supermodels in terms of popularity and pay; in 2004, she earned nearly $1,000,000 (USD) from endorsement deals.[citation needed] She has become the official spokesperson for China Airlines appearing in their commercials and calendars. Her father and grandfather are strong supporters of the Taiwan independence.[citation needed] Ironically, she also does modeling events and promotions in Mainland China, despite her relatives' views. Recently, Foxconn CEO Terry Guo has been trying to get Chi-ling as a second wife.[citation needed]

Some of the nicknames given to her include: Bing ChiLing (means "ice-cream"), ChiLing, Ling-Ling.

Her secondary school was at Taipei Municipal Zhongzheng Junior High School. She studied at the University of Toronto where she majored in Western Art History and Economics.

Chi-Ling Lin is one of the most recognised supermodels in Taiwan. This could be because she is relatively tall at 174cm, and only weighs 53kg. She also has a breast size of 34E[1]

Chiling was scouted on the streets when she was 15. Then she went to Canada and attended the Bishop Strachan School for her senior year of high school.

She was in attendance at the Chanel International Show in 1999.

She has had numerous roles in television over her time as a model, being the host of TVBS-G LA Mode News, and also the host of TVBS-G Fashion Track.

She also hosted the Golden Melody Awards in 2005.

She has stated that in the future she wants to be a TV news anchor.
