[edit] Fair use for Lindsay Lohan

The image Image:Lindsaysnl.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (RadioKirk talk to me 23:05, 29 January 2006 (UTC)) believe this image is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It is a low-resolution screenshot of a television program;
  2. No free or public domain images have been located for this purpose. While public domain images have been located for the subject of the article, none is recent, nor do they adequately illustrate the points in the subject's career that are discussed in the accompanying text;
  3. The image does not limit the copyright holders' ability to market any home video; and
  4. The image is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the subject or her work in any way.

[edit] Licensing

Copyrighted

This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program or station ID. As such, the copyright for it is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced it. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. For more information, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
