Lime Spiders

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lime Spiders were an Australian post-punk band, comparable to Died Pretty, consisting of Mick Blood, Ricky Lawson, Tony Bambach, and Gerard Corben. Blood formed the band in 1983, citing 1960s garage bands with psychedelic rock as influences. Lime spiders released two singles in 1983, and the Slave Girl EP in 1985, and signed to Virgin Records. Their debut album, The Cave Comes Alive! was well-liked by the critics as well as the public, although the following album was not well-received at all. After their third album, Beethoven's Fist, in 1990, Lime Spiders disbanded. A box set, Nine Miles High, was released in 2002.
