I'm not 100% on precisely how, but I know that this map is innacurate on at least a couple of portions shaded as "territory of Rome". For example, the island comprising modern day Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland was never part of any Roman state. Additionally, I believe the territories in Mesopotamia were only temporarily held by Rome, but never constituted a long term portion of the Roman Empire (although this may have changed under the Byzantine Empire). Can we get a more accurate version of this image? Hiberniantears 19:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
