[edit] Gameplay

The game takes place in an isometric world. Characters from the Animaniacs cartoon series occur in the game, but the story and the stages are completely new.

The director is present throughout each stage, and tells you what to do next in order to complete the movie. The basic gameplay consists of running though the stage, trying to avoid enemies, finding keys to unlock doors and figure out how to proceed by for example solving puzzles. At the end of most stages a boss can be found that has to be beaten.

Each Animaniac has a special set of abilities:

  • Yakko: Yakko is the average Animaniacs, and does not have any special feature. He can throw apples and move crates.
  • Wakko: Wakko cannot throw apples, but uses his stinky breath to knock out enemies.
  • Dot: Dot can throw apples, but refuses to push crates. She can also use her skirt to glide short distances though the air.
  • Pinky: Pinky can thow apples and make small jumps, and is tiny enough to pass though small holes in the walls.
  • Brain: Brain can also throw apples and pass through small holes. Thanks to his enormous brain he can operate the "iq-switch", but his head is to big for him to jump.

You can change character by finding a "stage door" and there play a game of Polka Dottie.

It is not possible to die in the game. Instead you have a limited amount of time to finish each stage. Time is symbolized by film rolls. If you touch an enemy the director yells "cut" and you have to start over from place where you last spoke to the director, thus losing valuable film (ie time).

The game contains a total of 15 stages, set in 3 different environments:

  1. Jailhouse Rock (P)
  2. The Observatory Mystery (S)
  3. The Haunted Village (H)
